Lilith St. Lyon is horrified when she is STRIPPED of her powers as a witch. Even worse, her sister is the Guardian who handles the awful deed! Unfortunately, her former lover, Detective Mac Mancusi, needs her assistance on a case he is working on. Will Lilith be able to help now that she is powerless? And will Mac accept the truth of who Lilith really is?

I am still new to reading the Harlequin Blaze line but Julie Leto has convinced me to keep reading more! STRIPPED is actually a fantastic mystery coupled with a very sensuous romance. The paranormal aspects are absolutely paramount to the storyline and kept me turning the pages, just to see what would happen next.

Julie Leto does a phenomenal job with character development. It is fun to watch Lilith develop from a sometimes shallow witch to a very caring and determined woman. Her passion for the truth is sometimes overshadowed by her dislike for strict rules, but she shows unswerving loyalty. Mac is a superb Alpha male and the clash between these two dominant personalities is instantaneous. Mac also strongly supports the truth, no matter the cost to himself, and it is interesting to see his adjustment to Lilith's world where witches and powers really do exist.

STRIPPED is a quick but fun read. Julie Leto meshes together elements of several genres and adds her own unique twists and turns. STRIPPED is a keeper and easily recommended.

`Tourist Attraction' by Connie Bennett is more of life story than pure Harlequin Superromance. This is the story of Lauren and Ross both successful business jet set people who fall in love. Their fast pass life comes to abrupt halt and it tests their love. If you enjoy Elin Hilderbrand, you will enjoy this novel.

The book looks at many of the inevitable discoveries northerners must make to live successfully amongst the natives. It was much more relevant of course when there actually were some Native Floridians, but very funny none the less.
It is a collection of his newspaper columns during his years at the Fort Myers NewsPress. Very insightful when you realize it was printed twenty years before the Blue Collar Comedy Tour.

A picture-perfect paradigm of "What you think about, you bring about"
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2008-09-29
This enchanting narrative is articulated in a style that's most appropriate for adolescents, but the chronicle engages adult readers as well. The author's style of communicating the saga compels one to savor the text in slow sips and long swallows, while contemplating the lessons to be learned within the imagery of the writer's original - and sometimes wacky - prose.

Ethan's Misadventures in Midgaard centers on Ethan McBride, an artistic 12-year-old whose drawings become reality. When Ethan sketches vivid scenes that transport him from his commonplace community into an extraordinary realm called Midgaard, he meets a sage gnome named Agnarr. As a revered member of the Warrior Draig, Agnarr encourages the gifted yet gullible Ethan to use his magical talents for the common good, rather than for selfish reasons. But while trying to help a village advance by leveraging biological science, Ethan is manipulated by an accursed tree sylph who also lures Ethan's best friend, Lilly, into danger.

Along the way, the author conveys a subtle yet powerful lesson about "doing the right thing." For adults seeking a tome that vividly demonstrates the "law of attraction" to the younger reader, this book is a picture-perfect paradigm of the philosophy that prescribes, "what you think about, you bring about" - fused with the writer's reference to the "rule of three" that mandates, "whatever you do to others will return to you threefold."

What is "The Secret"? This book doesn't really tell you....

You can't tell from this book that there IS "a secret". A better alternative to "The Secret" is "The Law of Attraction: The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham" by Esther and Jerry Hicks. Their examples are much more clear and relevant. Also, "The Power of Intention" by Dr. Wayne Dyer is a more practical implementation of the concepts talked about in "The Secret".

Don't waste your money and time on "The Secret" (unless you can borrow it from someone else) when there are so many other more valuable books on

Food for thought.

I read many of the reviews last night. I am writing my review to give others food for thought.

I like the book. The repetitive aspect is to bring the point home. This is how we learn things by doing or reading them over and over again. The Secert for the person who asked what it was.

Ask-with gratitude
trust-with gratitude
believe-with gratitude

Be grateful for what you have, turn your attention, thoughts and feelings to what you have and that gratitude, live in that way and ask for what you want in the same way.

I would agree that the ignore overweight people could have been stated better. Her point I think was more to not identify yourself with the overweight people if you want to have you perfect weight.

One the Holocaust comment. She did not blame the Jews for that, nor did she blame the natural disasters on those in them. There are genocides happening at this very moment in other counties. The Jews were not the only ones that suffered in the Holocaust. She said something in their thoughts put them there at that time and that place. A much simpler example. You are buying a house. You have narrowed it down to two houses. One is in a flood zone, and 10,000 dollars cheaper than the one not in the flood zone. The Realtor tells you this area has not flooded in 30 years. So you buy the house in the flood zone and two years from when you buy your house get flooded. Your thought process put you in the house that flooded.

The science remark of no real scientists would believe the law of attraction is the same as the law of gravity.

Not too many years ago real scientists said it was a fact that the Sun revolved around the earth. They said it was a fact that the Earth was flat. It was scientist that did not accept the "fact" that showed us differently. If those how invent things thought like the people who wrote all the negative review nothing would be invented and they would not have been able to read the book much less post a review from their computer.

On a final note. If you purchase a book and you get one thing out of it that benefits you then the book was worth the money to purchase it. At least that is how I feel about books. You don't have to agree with everything the author says either.

I hope that has provided those reading the reviews with food for thought.

I have learned a couple of things from the book to add to my work on progress which is myself. I do not think it was a waste of money.

I have received a message about the Zero Limits book being published in Czech republic (in Czech language) through friend of mine who already red the book and was absolutely amazed. I went on the internet and order it. When I started to read it I was so impressed immediately that I
could not stop reading until I was finished! I am familiar with several self - cleaning processes but the technique Ho`oponopono seems to me as the "right codes" from the Universe for everyone who is really ready to get 100% responsible for his life, the planet Earth and the Universe. I can only suggest the book to everybody. I am sure that each of you who are already reading these reviews are coming with in inside search for a Real Truth which you can find here.
I love you. I`m sorry. Please, forgive me. Thank you!

First, I love Joe Vitale's writing style: flowing, easy, casual, makes you really get to know him. So this, like all his books, is an easy read.

Second, it is full of inspiration and information. The technique itself was not allowed to be spelled out, but my husband and I have gotten plenty from doing only what little tidbits Joe was allowed (by Dr. Len) to reveal.

Though I am a bookworm, my husband has read maybe 3 books in the 14 years I have been with him. The fact that this was one of them says a lot about the book. We both have been through the whole workshop scene while in our 30s (which is where we met each other). Been there, done that. But we both signed up for Dr. Len's workshop mid way through the book.

Perhaps the most amazing testimonial is when Joe calls his intention techniques "kindergarten" compared to this one. Life really is about getting clear from all the programming and just letting in the Divine.

Borrowed too heavily from Bitten

This book was mildly enjoyable, though the main character was very annoying. Another reviewer labeled her too stubborn to live, which I agree with. So overall, nothing great, but good mindless fun.

Thats not why I rated it 1 star though. This book was released in 2007. Bitten, 2004. The overall idea, basically the same. I could have lived with that, two authors with two takes on one idea. No big deal.

But right now I'm reading Bitten for the first time, and almost every scene was mimicked in Stray. Motivations are similar, minor character actions and personalities are similar. The only real difference is that the motivations and emotions in Bitten make sense while in Stray they're just going through the motions.

I'm very disappointed to see how much was taken from another author.

Angieville: STRAY

Review Date: 2008-11-06
Aware of my current craving for good urban fantasy/paranormals, my husband recommended this one to me after listening to the audio version while he was out on the job. Vincent's first offering manages to be at once hefty and highly accessible. STRAY opens with Faythe, a werecat and the only daughter of an alpha, attempting to assert her independence and live a life of normalcy outside the Pride as a grad student at the University of North Texas. A series of attacks on other tabbies by a mysterious "stray," along with the unwanted protective stalking of her former intended Marc, drag her back to the family ranch and into the complicated politics of the Pride. I liked Faythe well enough. I liked Marc and Jace even better. The world is decidedly dark and these weres need each other more than they seem to know. Vincent has signed a contract for five future books in this series and I sit back and happily look forward to watching Faythe mature and develop as a character.

AWESOME!!!

Rachel Vincent meticulously creates an alternate history drawing on black panther folklore. The speed and complexity gradually increased until I found myself not only wanting to know what would happen but also caring what would happen. She builds a complex character in Faythe who is both the somewhat spoiled and pampered daughter with a strong independent streak and her tough Alpha-father's daughter in every way. Faythe is realistically torn between her rebellion and her loyalties. Her dilemna is understandable to any woman that hasn't fit into the traditional mold of their society. Those who naturally accepted their roles might have a hard time understanding Faythe and her real life counterparts.

Vincent's depictions of the realities of a kidnapping are chilling because of their emotional and physical details. To her credit, she doesn't hold up one way of surviving as better or worse than another. She succeeds in making both the kidnappers' wholly self centered nature and their actions morally unredeemable.

The book is a bit longer than usual so I would start it before a day off so you don't end up going to work bleary eyed.

A Disappointment

I initially grabbed this book because it sounded a lot like Kelley Armstrong's Bitten, which is one of my favorite books. I really like the aspect of having a family among weres, so I thought this might be another great story that I could enjoy. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a near carbon copy of Armstrong's book, but with writing that was far worse, unbelievable characters, and a plot line that couldn't keep my interest.

Faythe seems at first to be a typical rebellious teen, headed off to college to escape her family with seemingly understandable motives. She doesn't like that eventually she'll be expected to marry and have a lot of kids in order to further her family, so instead she makes a deal with her father and heads off to school. While there, she begins a typical college life complete with roommate and boyfriend and seems quite content and reluctant to leave. When trouble arises in the form of several kidnapped were females she is forced to return home.

Until this point, the story still had potential. Faythe seemed like a real person, forced to make a decision she didn't want for the good of the greater, and you almost feel you can empathize with her. I lost all connection to the character, however, when she neglects to call her school boyfriend at all once she gets home and almost immediately starts toying with the hearts of her friends, with seemingly complete disregard for anyone but herself. The characters are rather flat, and Faythe herself is a character you grow to dislike.

This book was a real disappointment. If you're looking for a quasi-family oriented book with strong, interesting characters, I highly recommend you try Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Underworld series instead and leave Rachel Vincent's on the shelf.

I should youtube Susan Rabin first to see if her writing is any indication of her personality. Her writing is all over the place and she appears through her writing to be extremely hyper with thoughts coming and going in every direction with no rhyme or reason to them. I had to go over several parts a few times to try and understand if the example scenario was a success or not a success. At times, I didn't have a clue as to what the point was. The only one I can remember takes place early in the book: It's the scene where she ran into someone in the airport and she glances at her watch and leaves the person she was talking to. I had to read it a few times...was that a successful encounter or not?? I had no clue. What LITTLE useful information that is in the book could have been put into a pamphlet of 5 one sided pages. Her writing is awful. The book is a mess.

Actually, I enjoyed the novel. I liked how rather than Dodd forming typical heroines that hold out from the man that she loves, Hannah does have some faults of her own, for example, not being able to stay out of Dougald's arms...ever!

The book was a page turner, the characters were charming, and I NEVER saw some of the events that happened coming. Thank you for giving us a book that I could not predict :)

This was my first book by Christina Dodd and I have to say that it was not my last. Okay this story first opens up with our heroine waiting all alone in the dark for a carriage to take her to her new employer's house. Good so far and it does get better. That first scene with our herione and hero is very hot, and while our hero did seem to be a little mean at times well all I can say is made for some very hot conflicts! The mystery was pretty good too oh and I hated our hero's faithful butler or whatever the heck he was he was really nasty and he actually caused alot of hardship for our herione in the past. Very good gothic romance I know it is in the Regency times and everything but it had a very gothic tone to it to me and I LOVE gothic romances!! 5 stars for steaminess and good story line and of course a very sexy hero who tries so hard to deny his feelings for our heroine but deep down has loved her all along, and really that is what makes a truly terrific story.

The hero just ruined the book.

After reading the concept of this story I was very anxious to read it. Young woman traveling to a distant/unknown town, finding herself all alone at the train station, finally gets picked up by an creepy character who tells her the Lord of the castle killed his wife....hhhmmm. She arrives at the old castle only to find that the Lord is the husbanfd she ran away from nine years ago...Sounded really good to me.

Well sadly its not. The hero is just waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy too nasty and cruel. Seems like Ms Dodd has been taking "mean hero" tips from Rosemary Rogers. Who has the cruelest heros I have ever come across, which is why I no longer read her books. Yes, in the last 100 pages he does redeem himself a bit, but not enough. By then I just couldn't like him, least of all feel any sympathy for him. Couldn't blame Hannah for running away from him at all.

I also didn't like that although he wasn't nice to the heroine, she continued to make love with him. Giving me the feeling of sex for the sake of sex....Rather disturbing.

There is finally near the end a very beautiful love scene where Douglad finally humbles himself, but as I said before too late.

The plot is not that bad.
However between the nasty butler, the heir, the murders, the aunt and her friends, the tapestry, Queen Victoria's vistit, the castle falling apart and Hannah's long lost family....the romace gets lost.

Two stars because the aunt and her friends are really cute. Other than that the book is not a romance worthy read.

Waste of time!

I have read other books by Christina Dodd & liked them. Which is why I read this one. What a disappointment! Story plot was o.k. But character development was poor. I like reading stories where I like the characters, at least like them at some point in the story & wish they'll be happy in the end. But this story was so boring, dragging on that I couldn't care less what happened in the end. Only because of my silly compulsion to finish every book I start, I ended up wasting a few hours of my time on this book. BTW, I did like the "Rules of engagement" in the same series very much! I liked Hannah Settrington in that story, which is why I got this book. My humble opinion is that Avoid reading this book unless you've nothing better to do.
