Then there is a trip to a turkey farm. How exciting, but the kids all feel sorry for the turkeys, and after seeing and petting the turkeys, they really will not want to eat one. They all agree that they will probably eat peanut butter for Thanksgiving dinner.
Sonny has really fallen in love with a big turkey with two black tail feathers, and manages to talk his mother into buying the turkey for him to take home as a pet. At the next meeting of the Pee Wee Scouts, Sonny is leading his turkey on a red leash. He has named the big bird "Tiger." Sonny is going to build a bird house for Tiger and earn a scout badge for bird house building. Some of the other kids want to help with that project, because it will have to be a very large bird house for Tiger to fit it.
Their main project is the Thanksgiving play, but Molly is very nervous about that...she just is not an actor, and she is sure that she will forget her lines, and everyone will laugh and make fun of her. Nevertheless, Molly's part is going to be the pilgrim mother. She only has one line to remember, but she's just sure that she will forget it. She's especially worried when she finds out that the mayor will be there to see her ruin the play.
The late Judy Delton really knew kids, and had a real flair for writing a great story that keeps kids laughing and turning the pages. Alan Tiegreen's comical pen-and-ink drawings add visual impact to the story. PEANUT-BUTTER PILGRIMS is one of a fun-filled series about the Pee Wee Scouts that will have kids begging for more. This story will be especially good as a read-aloud family time story for younger kids, or independent reading for older children that is guaranteed to keep them entranced.

Rick at his incisive bestReview Date: 2004-04-26
After perusing all eight books, I looked up the first five players drafted in every year back into the late seventies. Lo, I found that unless your team had one of the first three players taken in the entire draft your team did not win the NBA title. Furthermore I concluded that, after 13 years of holding season tickets for the Bullets, the teams that won most often have 8-9 good players vs those that lose who have only 3-4 good players. But, the pivotal player who carries the team must be present for ultimate success to be realized.
To draw a comparison, I learned years ago that there were one million high school football players. These reduced to 70,000
college players and then condensed further to 1200 NFL players. These remaining players averaged 3-4 years in the league,
but the top 100-125 played for 10-15 years. The team who had the most of these head-and-shoulders better players won the championship.
I believe this model holds true in all sports at all levels. It fits with a basis tenet of chaos theory and also with Mike
Hart's book "the 100: A Ranking of the 100 most influential people in history." Thus I maintain that it's a model for how
free markets and their unfettered, spontaneous ordering arrange civilizations. This leads into why western civilization has
succeeded in raising living standards more for the common man in contrast to command and control economies.
Too bad
Rick B. and Jordan Cohn stopped after the '97 season. It was great stuff for contemplative fans.

"The Scout" by Steven Plaut-Gefen Books; ISBN: 9652292893.Review Date: 2002-09-21
"The Scout" is definitely a five star winner!
Recovering from a very difficult ordeal in a hospital bed, Steven Plaut 'meets' another fellow-patient: A Bedouin. This representative of a remarkable breed of people-and his unmatched tracking abilities-,are the essence of this Plaut's latest hit. Blending fact and fiction in a very clever way, this highly talented historical novelist creates a real page-turner. Tough to put down.
