This book is *not* unavailable -- it was published in a new edition. ISBN 1-59092-012-X, "Pokemon! The Best Websites." This is a great book because the number of quality of Pokemon sites are few and the guide gives you the best of them. Also, there's a built in deal where if a site is down you can contact the publisher and they'll fix the issue. (I should know -- I *am* the publisher!) :)

This is one of the greatest resource books I've ever used! It is so comprehensive, in that it provides resource information for everything from professional associations to book clubs. I'm a Guidance Counselor for the US Army, and I've used it on several occassions in counseling women on career matters. What was really astounding was that all of the phone numbers I called were correct! Many of the organizations are National and therefore are not only helpful to women in the Washington area, but for women throughout the country as well. The only other thing that I could say is thankyou , to the author for providing such a valuable tool for women. It has enriched and enhanced my life in many ways.

ESSENTIAL FOR SERIOUS STEAMBOAT RESEARCHERS
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 3 total.
Review Date: 2007-02-24
This is a very comprehensive listing of steamboats, where they were built, their size, who was Captain if known, etc. It also includes some, but not a lot, very nice photographs of steamboats. The only drawback is that the index is not comprehensive. My gg grandfather had only two listings in the index by his name, but he was actually mentioned in one additional listing for a total of three. So a bit of due diligence is required.

I believe this to be the best riverboat/steamboat reference I have ever come upon. It is the most complete I have ever seen although it is not totally complete. This is a book you cannot be without if interested in river travel history. I will never sell mine.

Way's is an almost staggering achievement. Mr. Way (now deceased) spent approx. 80 years of his life collecting this information. There isn't any other source that comes close to Way's if you need to know about steamboats on the Western Waters (Pittsburgh westwards).

I bought this to help find places my husband and I can go for short 2-3 day holidays. This book has a lot of information about barriers that most able-bodied people take for granted - ie, gravel walkways vs hard surface, etc. It's divided by regions so you can easily find whatever is available in any given area - for example: Horse& buggy rides with lock-downs for wheelchairs, ramps into pools, accessible rental condos, fishing trips, accessible canoeing, water parks with ramps etc. This will be put to very good use this year!! No excuses now!

Wheelchairs on the Go: Accessible Fun in Florida

Review Date: 2003-03-20
I was a little reluctant at first to purchase this book because of the price and being disappointed in another access guide I had purchased. Also, I don't use a wheelchair on a regular basis. After reading a review, I decided to give it a try and I am so glad I did. Its detailed descriptions of the tourist attractions made it easy for me to decide if the attraction would meet my needs. I never realized how many activities were available for those who use wheelchairs. It opened my eyes to so many things I had not even thought about doing. And the accommodations listed are not just motels! The list includes campgrounds, cabins, B & B's, houses, condos, even houseboats and an RV. There is also an appendix chock full of helpful resources. Thank you Wheelchairs on the Go. This book is a real gift to the disabled community and a bargain at twice the price!

Wheelchairs on the Go: Accessible Fun in Florida (by Michelle Stigleman & Deborah Van Brunt, 424 pages, ISBN: 9664356-5-6 , USA: $24.95) is a comprehensive guide for any resident or traveler with ambulatory difficulties who would like to have fun in Florida. Michelle and Deborah have covered hundreds of locations and listed the available aids and pitfalls for challenged travelers. You can look up any city or any activity and learn how to adjust or plan your travels, or whether it is not advisable for those with limitations. The authors list so many aids and so many fun activities that anyone who has hesitated to travel because of physical disabilities will want to make Florida a top destination. Every kind of fun activity and attraction is covered, describing the potential barriers and how to overcome them. An EXCELLENT guide book for those who need it, including people who use canes and walkers, or simply can't walk very far. Additions and updates to the book will be posted

Latest and Best Toy Soldier Book today
Helpful Votes: 8 out of 8 total.
Review Date: 2001-06-20
Johnathan Crawford has put together a comprehensive collection of articles on toy soldiers together with a large `yellow pages' directory of dealers, stores, manufacturers, suppliers and publications to make this book THE Toy Soldier Book to get hold of.

The best thing that I like is its `up to date', published late '98, it has an article that deal with "Cyber Soldiers on the Web" which, as you are reading this via the internet, it is most relevant to our hobby. The advertising and sales via Internet, together with the exhibitions of toy soldiers, such as my site, will come even more to the forefront into the next century.

The 220-page spiral bound book, contains articles which will provide the reader with much background into all aspects of our hobby. There one article from Jonathan on "Better Toy Soldier Modeling, Casting & Painting" which has help helped me with my painting, simple tips, but things that I hadn't thought about.

Both British and American plastics have historical articles that trace their rise in the 1950's and also Composition Figures are well covered in Jack Matthews pages covering Elastolin, Lionel, other manufacturers, types of figures and collecting hints. Heyde Figures also feature so this has been an awakening to me about this German manufacturer .

I really enjoyed reading the pages on "Getting Started", "So You Want To Collect" and "Thoughts On Collecting", they are most relevant to all of us who are collecting, What era should I specialise in? What type of figures? Should I only collect one particular country, corps, pose, or age. The possibilties are endless, but read these pages and hopefully you may be able to rationalise your collection, or make it bigger!

Britains is heading in a new direction, so you can meet the people who will be guiding it into 2000. There are interview with both the UK and USA staff so we can all get to know who is at the helm of the flagship of toy soldiers. I had not realised what had been going on behind the scenes but by reading the interviews you will appreciate the work that has and will be happening with the new releases of their figures.

They wide use of images that have been well placed into all the articles are most relevant to the text, and enhance the content. They say, "a picture is worth a thousand words", so you are getting quite a coverage of toy soldiers from all around the world. I found the advertising very useful and as it gives many contacts to follow up if you are searching for a particular type of soldier or manufacturer. The Photo Picture Page are a great addition, I can put face to names that I read about, maybe it's a bit of a rogues gallery, but I leave it to you to see and comment.

The extensive use of URLs and email addresses in the advertising has showed me how much the Internet is growing and it use in sales of toy soldiers. Many of the manufactures and suppliers and shops now have websites or email addresses. This means that you can sit in front of your computer and converse with the manufacturer, shop owner, or publisher and find out what is new, is it in stock, can you order it, all at the touch of a key pad. The comprehensive "Yellow Pages" Directory list not only dealers, stores and manufacturers, but also casting and suppliers, auction houses, restoration services and publications. They have been arranged by country, and classification, so it is very easy to check "Where is my closest supplier?", or "Who is the contact there?". One very useful page lists the time chart so you know what time to telephone, and includes the International Telephone County Codes (for those without email!)

What more can I say, "get out and buy one" and see for yourself.

I can recommend this book as a valuable resource to today's toy soldier collector.

Yoga for many is not just a way of getting in shape or a way of reducing stress--it is more of a way of life or a path. As a result, yoga for these people tends to inform much of the decisions in life from grocery shopping to planning trips.
This is a great book for the later. I am presently using this book to plan a trip in the Winter, and there are so many great yoga adventures profiled that it will be hard to decide.
This is truely a wonderfully written and organized book for the people out there who want to put their toes in the sand and relax in the tropical breezes, but who also want a well-instructed yoga class to do once or twice a day.
