This is definately a great product. It's good for people who are doing reports or performances on Fanny Brice because it gives them a chance to hear what she sounded like and how she did her radio show. I do performances as Fanny Brice, and this set gave me a great sense of how she performed her characters.

As one grows older an appreciation of the past grows. Customs and traditions dismissed by the young man are embraced new. Words and phrases not heard for thirty years cause a shiver of recognition. In an uncertain world we look backwards for the certainties of our youth. In a fractured society, we realise that we are not, in fact, isolated individuals but an amalgam of our family and the place we were born. In short, we feel a need to belong.

Bryan Gallagher's book is a doorway to the past. Its stories display a deep understanding of his people and a cheerful harmony with them. It reminds us, in our headlong heedless rush through modern life, to place value on the things that make us who we are.

I have not read the book but I have had the author as a teacher. She was great. I was in her class as she was preparing for this book and I heard a few snid-bits of info. Sounds like a great book and I am sure going to read it.

This is a great book on Radio - some of the circuits are older technology but a great read for the armchair engineer or technician who is interested in amateur radio and electronics.

The third of fourth in DK's junior guidebooks to the WB's animated series follows the similar format as the previous ones. Like the others, Mr. Beatty does a fine job in picking the illustrations from the comic book stories from the programs, but a few more captions from the actual show would have been appreciated.

Still, it's fun and colorful. And considering that sometimes the regular full priced guidebooks can have some content that some adults might object to, this text is eye-catching and can introduce the younger readers to the less complicated animated series history.

I do wish the book had a few more pages to explain things a bit more, but it's great for what it is.

Though the Batman Beyond series isn't currently being shown on cable, but can be caught on DVD, this guidebook is a great way for the kids to introduce themselves into the world of Batman Beyond.

My favorite Episode, and one of my favorite books of the series. The growth and development of all the characters is inspiring. Plus, who could not love any book with the classic conflict of Good vs. Evil? Of course, Good wins--but what a battle!

This book contains ten chapters on a range of observations and theoretical topics related to astrophysical jets. Unlike most of the other volumes in the Cambridge Astrophysics series, each chapter of this book was written by one or two specialists. The goal of this book is to provide a bridge between classical hydrodynamics and current research into astrophysical jets and related phenomena (i.e. this book will take the reader from textbook hydrodynamics to (or close to) current research). Topics include a review of non-thermal emission processes, observational summary of jets, stability of jets, formations of jets by supermassive black holes, and many others. Each chapter contains a detailed bibliography facilitating further research. This book is heavily weighted toward the light, fast jets of radio galaxies, although the final chapter discusses collimated flows from stars, YSOs, and other Galactic objects such as SS 433. Even though this book was published in the early 90s (1991), it remains a valuable research resource. Considerable advances have been made in the field since then, but this volume concentrates mostly on the basics, and contains surprisingly little dated material. This book was written primarily for advanced graduate students and researchers, and assumes considerable background knowledge in hydrodynamics, astrophysics, radio astronomy, and perhaps X-ray astronomy (I should mention that no knowledge of relativistic hydrodynamics is necessary to understand most of the book). I view this book more as a learning companion rather than a traditional text. If you are a graduate student doing a thesis (either theoretical or observational) on astrophysical jets, you'll find this volume a useful addition to your bookshelf.
