Pigs Books

Bought this book for a reluctant reader in the third grade. He likes it because certain words are in various typesettings and bold to highlight the action. He now requests other Geronimo Stilton books because he finds them exciting.

Geronimo Stilton (the mouse) is the main character. I would recommend this book to people who like adventure books! The book is like the Magic Tree House books because they are really adventurous.
If you want to see where Geronimo Stilton goes on vacation and what he does on vacation you have to read the book.
If you decide to read the book I hope you like it!!! If you really like the book then you should read the whole series!!! (There are a bunch of them)

Trap is trying to trace his "Furry Tree" and begins to think
he is related to Count Trip von Trappen.He goes to Trip's
decendent's house in TRANSRATNIA and hires himself as a cook.Trap gets bored
and calls "Gerronomeister", saying he's in trouble.
Thea,Gerronimo, and Ben come to help and....well, they're
suprised and so is Trap!

Trap is in Transratania! geronimo must free him. Nut he ends up trapped in that town!

This is a triumph in Children's Literature. While it is geared to children from 7 to 9 years of age, children of all ages, especially younger children enjoy having it read to them. The illustrations are colorful and evoke thought from the very young. They stimulate and entertain at the same time. Great job guys. Where are the next books in the series?

This is a true masterpiece of children's literature. The storyline sings with originality, and the characterizations sparkle. It made me want to become a pig myself. Everyone should read Gerty the Pig!!!

I bought my boys 2 Guinea pigs and this book for Christmas. It was wonderful. It gave us all enough information to know what to look for in purchasing the Guinea pigs, and taking care of them. It even has a place to put a picture of your Guinea Pig and information about her/him.

PERFECT BOOK FOR A CHILD GETTING TO KNOW THEIR NEW PET

I love this book! Every child I've ever read it to loves this book. It is sweet and playful, while reminding kids and grown-ups alike that nobody is perfect and nobody can be all good or all bad all of the time. This is the perfect story for any preschool age child and the grown-ups who love them. If only it were readily available. Every time I need a gift for a small child, I think of this book and go searching, but it is never available in stores or online. I hope they rerelease it one day; I'll buy a copy for every child I know.

Margaret Wise Brown was such a talented author. This story is my 3yo daughter's current favorite. I like it because it shows that not everyone (or every pig) is perfect and that's just how Peter likes it. It's a fun book to read aloud and Dan Yaccarino's illustrations make it a colorful adventure. After finding this book, I have begun to explore even more of Brown's work beyond Goodnight Moon. She's a gem.

I already read this to my 6 week old frequently. He loves the bright pictures and is fascinated by the pull-out pages. I think he'll like it even more the older he gets! This is definately a must have for every children's library! The best part about it is, I love it, too!

This book is great. My 19 month old loves it. The illustrations are bright and vivid. The story is adorable. I can't wait for the next Piggy Wiggy book to come out.

My Grandparents bought this book for me when I was born. Even when I was very small, nursery rhymes had little interest for me. However, the illustrations in this book always held me riveted. Unfortunately, that book was lost in a move at some point. Now that I have a boy of my own, I'm buying a copy of it for him.

If you want your child(ren) to be prolific readers, the first step is buying books with detailed, interesting illustrations. This is a great place to start. I highly recommend it.

This is a book for the nursery rhyme set that erudite parents will enjoy as well. It has one or two standards (some not so standard) per page, cleverly illustrated with a wide range of the cutest anthropomorphic animals since Walt Kelly's "Pogo". The rhymes and pictures alone would make it a three-star book, a good standard collection. But there's more. Mr. Tripp has his animals make little asides, much like the penguin in "Oliphant", and scatters sight gags liberally throughout his illustrations.

For "Higglety-pigglety, my black hen, she lays eggs for gentlemen", for instance, a happy bear admires the hen and says "egg-squisite".

A list of four dozen contestants at a pie eating contest includes "Sally Forth" and "Robin Banks".

Scattered about the clouds for "There was an old woman tossed on a blanket" are a pretty complete set of milestones from aviation history; spitfire, sopwith camel, X-1, mercury capsule, and a fellow with a dozen swans in a silken harness.

I was glad I bought the hardcover edition; the paperback would have worn out.

Peter Gurney was the leading most expert on guinea pigs in the UK and this book is great, he has since past away.

In my opinion, Peter Gurney was the world's leading authority on guinea pigs, and their well-being was his passion. All of his books are excellent, and those of us who love our little creatures will miss him terribly. Peter passed away in 2006. I highly recommend all of his books, and his website is also a great resource for guinea pig owners.

This book covers all aspects of guinea pig ownership, and presents it in an easy to read, easy to find what you're looking for way. There are differnt sections for indoor and outdoor guinea pigs, so however you are going to keep your pig you get information how to in this book. Then there are sections to help you understand the guinea pigs lauguage and body launguage, showing, breeds of piggies and alot of other things. There is a list of common health problems that guinea pigs have with descriptions of the symptoms. One thing I found very helpfull was the section on how to introduce a guinea pig to other pets, and how to potty train them.
I read this book over and over again not just for the information but also for the nice pictures and the great way that a guinea pigs wonderful personality that guinea pigs have. If you have a guinea pig you should have this book.

FINALLY!!! A book devoted to the joys of pet guinea pigs--not breeding fuzz factories, not commercial commodities, but COMPANIONS! Proves guinea pigs are playful and fun--they don't just sit there. A joy to read--especially for those of us who remember Audrey when she was the editor of Horse Illustrated. Engaging, informative, helpful text written by a true lover of animals. The illustrations are also lavish, helpful, at times hysterical and heavy on cute. Also has a big listing of books, clubs and a tiny website listing--still, very accurate. The only quibbles are that housing piggies outdoors is information grudgingly given as Audrey advocates keeping them indoors. No information about pregancy and raising young is to be found, as she advocates letting breeders do that. However, so many people find that their new piggie just happens to be pregnant, not due to any planned breeding, that this information is needed for those caring piggy slaves who have no idea what to expect. Still, quibbles aside, a must have book for those who love guinea pigs.

As a guinea pig (cavy) fan, I am always on the lookout for good photographs of them. This calendar is chock full of good photos of cute cavies.

This delightful collection of cavy pictures elevates rather than lowers our sense of who Pigs are, and what our relationship is to them: it is sweet and cute without being smarmy.
