Dr. Kerzner made an excellent synthesis of project management from a practical point of view.
Pure experience sorted and regrouped alongside topics of excellence. The book is rich of diagrammes, graphics,
screen copies and all sort of illustrations which helped thousands of project actors to grasp and retain the notions.

I appreciated the European touch as well.

If you manage projects, this book is a must.
If you manage projects for over 10 years, take it with you even during your holidays.

A small but information-packed volume that belongs on the desk of every dedicated teacher or student of French, Pierre Léon's classic "aide-mémoire" on French pronunciation concisely describes not only a highly valid standard for pronunciation of the language generally, but also a set of clear rules relating pronunciation to French spelling and speech patterns. The author methodically reviews the full set of French phonemes and describes in detail how they are represented in the written language, with copious examples and exercises. If you are learning French, this compact opus will prove invaluable in mastering pronunciation and suppressing an accent; and if you are teaching French, it will provide you with considerable insight into the workings of French pronunciation and will help inspire you in development of methods for teaching it.

Philip Mattera's anecdotal and statistical analysis of the "loss" of prosperity amounts to nothing more than an intellectually and economically incoherent rehashing of Marxist principles. Fortunately, he is so good at showing the absurd and evil roots of his "thinking" that even the most dense reader will see right through the ideas presented. In this sense, Mr. Mattera has performed an invaluable service for freedom---the equivalent of an antidote for the very ideas he claims to promote.

A specific example: He proposes (since we are "humane" enough to have a minimum wage even though it has been shown unequivocably to destroy jobs and harm the workers at the bottom of the employment ladder), we should also have MAXIMUM wage law, so that entrepreneurs, the people who CREATE all those jobs, will have no further incentive to do so. The idea is simple enough: Mr. Mattera obviously recognizes that the minimum wage law has too subtle an impact, and harms too few people. He proposes to undo decades of development in one fell swoop, preventing millions of jobs from being created and eliminating millions of already-existing jobs. He is ambitious! Of course, this law would have one effect which Mr. Mattera does not openly consider--it would make many more people dependent on the government, which is, of course, the final goal of this Marxist screed. Read it for laughs, and to learn what the enemy calls "thinking."

This is the only published material available on the subject that I know of. I think it is a very good book and details the subject matter very well. It also covers several papers there were presented in IEEE conferences. ... This is a very well worth book.

I absolutely love the size of this book. I carry in my bag all the time. There is plenty of space in the margins to write lots of notes. This book comes in so handy to read on the bus and train. It's perfect for praying while on a commute.

I plan on buying more of these books to give to friends and family.

In fact I find myself writing so many notes in this book, that I'm gonna scan some of the pages with lots of notes and put them online. I just really love this book.

I have discovered there is a lot of beautiful music to be found and am totally pleased with the hymnal! The leaders of each Christian denomination, it appears, edit in or edit out hymns at their own discretion and I really miss some of the hymns that we used to sing as I was growing up.

I just finished this book. It's a great resource for anyone who is asked to communicate in the church. On any given Sunday, millions of presentations are taking place in churches. But volunteers who greet, teach, lead meetings and evangelize have never had anything to train them how to do it better. Pastors get trained in seminaries. But the rest of us are on our own. Now we have a "handbook". I would encourage every pastor to buy a stack of these books and hand them out to their volunteers.

One of the real problems with the web as it was originally designed was the lack of any procedure for varying qualities of service (QoS). When only documents are being passed back and forth, the delay of a few seconds isn't important. But when you are using the internet for other applications it may be very important. For instance a gap of a few seconds between words makes a big difference when doing voice over internet protocol (VOIP). Likewise streaming video and other multimedia applications suffer when gaps in the data stream occur.

This book, published by Cisco Press, gives the Cisco view of implementing QoS over Internet Protocol. The book is basically broken down into three parts:

a technology overview,
Cisco Implementation,
Different Backbone design changes.

The book does presume some knowledge on the readers part on IP and MPLS. The intended audience of this book is the technical staff in those organizations building IP/MPLS networks.

Low cost book on QS-9000, the quality standard for automotive industry and its suppliers and recognized by the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG).

As a basic introduction to what QS-9000 is about, element by element, it's complete and readable. It also gives "How" tips on implementation.

The miniguide includes an overview of the other manuals required for implementation guidance, e.g., Advanced Product Planning and Control Plan (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). These are what distinguish QS-9000 from ISO 9000 quality standards.

Wisely, the authors recommend customers be asked what are their particular needs so that unique requirements can be instilled in the organization's QS-9000 system.

For a person like me at an ISO 9001 house but not in the automotive industry (yet!), reading this miniguide made me an informed person about the similarities and differences of QS-9000 and the ISO 9000 quality systems.
