I just love westerns and this one didn't disappoint. The love scenes were HOT, HOT, HOT!!! I loved the heroine she wasn't winey or annoying, she was very independent and self-assured. The hero was a nice alpha male and the heroine really made him work to earn her trust again. **sigh** It was a very believable relationship. I was a little surprised at the ending. I don't think I'm giving anything away, there is a cattle-rustling mystery that does not get solved and continues on into the next book. So of course I have to get the next one. I also recommend anything by Sarah McCarty too. She writes great westerns and has great alpha cowboys.

Wildfire is the first in Cheyenne McCray's Wild series. If you love alpha cowboys this is the book for you, be warned though this is an erotic romance so has graphic sex scenes. Dee Macloud is running her ranch by herself, her ranch hands call her the "Ice Queen" which couldn't be further from the truth. Ten years ago Jake Reynolds left Dee in the middle of their hot love affair without a second thought, or so Dee thinks, but Jake has never forgotten Dee and is back in Arizona looking to take up where he left off. This is a very sexy read and you will not be dissapointed. Ms McCray is an author who is on my must buy list simply because i know she will deliver in her books and i know i haven't wasted my time or money.

This is the first Western romantica I've ever read, and Wildfire is one of the yummiest, sexiest, most erotic romances out there. The thing that I like the most is that it is set in rural Arizona with a backdrop of country life. Dean "Dee" MacLeod has had a great deal of horses and other life stock stolen from her ranch, and no one in town appears to know what's going on. But things get even more complicated in Dee's life when ex-boyfriend Jake Reynolds decides to help out with the case. He'd left her ten years ago and her heart is still broken. Her plan is to make the ultimate seduction that will show him what he's missed out on all these years, but Jake has other ideas in mind...
Cheyenne McCray's descriptions are insatiable beyond compare. I couldn't help but turn the pages until I was done with this gem. I had loved Book 1 of The Seraphine Chronicles, and now McCray has outdone herself with this first installment of the Wild series. The one thing I didn't like is that she left a rather big cliffhanger -- the reader doesn't get to find out who the rustler is. I guess I'll have to read the other books and find out, not that I wasn't going to anyway! I highly recommend this delicious romantica. Ellora's Cave and Ms. McCray have done it again!

Tis is the follow on the wildcat and follows Dean's attempts to put a stop to the rustleing ad to deal with her case of the hots for Jake who dumped her for a carrer as a lawman. The mistery continues in the next book. The sex is welll written and while the plot is weak its Ok and woith giving a better than average rating to the book.
Excellent erotic western romance ...

Great characters, great love story, and fantastic alpha male. I love everything written by this author and this story was no exception. The next in the series (available as an e-book) was also wonderful. I think Ms. McCray has a way with the westerns--the characters are pleasing and the dialogue seems very genuine. GREAT HOT love scenes and and dark brooding alpha male make this story a keeper for me.

A delight.... I read this in 2 days. I love this fantasy genre, and this was right on target. the fact that the Neanderthals were the "good guys" and the Cro Magnan, "not" made it a little unexpected. A good read for all ages.

As a guy, its hard for me to admit when I read a "romance" novel, but I was so impressed by "Riley's Journey" that I felt I had to let the public know. I love ancient history and the Ice Age is about as far back as it gets. Ms. Parker blend of romance, comedy and adventure is both believable and downright interesting. I recommend Riley's Journey" as well as "Fiona" (another P. L. Parker novel) wholeheartedly.

"Riley's Journey" by P. L. Parker is an absolutely wonderful read, and I might lose my guy card for saying so. Riley journeys back in time to the Ice Age, finds Nathan and begins a series of adventures that kept me on the edge of my seat for most of the story. It is exciting, funny, heartwarming and, at times, intense. Ms. Parker's ability to create in the written text a mental image that is so vivid, you feel like you are experiencing it with the characters. I give this book my highest rating.

I just finished reading this book and, wow, did I love it. The story was intriguing and kept me glued to my seat. I hated to reach the final pages! The author has a wonderful storytelling style and I thoroughly enjoyed how she portrayed the characters' thoughts and actions. I also loved how the plot took its own twists and turns, ones that were definitely not predictable. This is an entertaining book with a great love story and I highly recommend it. I can't wait to read her first book, Fiona.

What if you could travel back 40,000 years ago to when saber toothed tigers and Mastodons roamed the earth? This is exactly the world that Nathan has been surviving in for five lonely years with only his dog, Demon, for companionship. Dr. Bethany Collins, the mastermind behind the experiment that sent Nathan catapulting back in time, is determined that Nathan will not remain alone; so determined that she is willing to send the unsuspecting Riley Ames back in time under the guise of a fake research experiment. Riley's arrival to an age when Cro-Magnon and Neanderthal men walked the earth is only the beginning of RILEY' S JOURNEY....
I have never read a time travel in which the setting was so far back in time, and so it was with great excitement that I started RILEY'S JOURNEY. P.L. Parker did not disappoint! Her vivid images of a time long past made the pages come alive with the excitement, the thrill, and yes, the danger of modern man (and woman!) trying to survive in such a perilous time. More than once P.L. Parker had me on the edge of my seat, anxiously awaiting to see how further events would unfold. Would Riley and Nathan survive each new hazard? And just as importantly, would Demon survive?
The harsh beauty of the past as seen through the eyes of Riley and Nathan is only part of the joy of RILEY'S JOURNEY, however. P.L. Parker throws in some interesting twists that made this romance a truly heart warming tale. The love between Riley and Nathan has time to develop and blossom into a strong, unbreakable bond that is both sexy and uplifting. RILEY'S JOURNEY is truly a tale about love growing in any environment!

Cowboys, Suspense and Paranormal All in One

Well, I did list the most important element first - Cowboys - mmmmmm....So recently I've gained an all-new appreciation for cowboys due to the "Promises" books by Sarah McCarty (check it out if it inerests you, I loved them!) and searched for even more thrilling and emotionally engaging bronc riding hunks to fill my reading hours. I love shorts, or anthologies, as well and was excited to find this one "Hearts are Wild", with two stories by authors I already like. The concept for the anthology is great, about three cousins who make a bet to each have a no-holds barred relationship with the first man who "trips her trigger". Each author tells one of the cousins sexy stories. While I saw three distinct writing styles in all of them, each author did a stellar job of keeping the plots (yes, I said plots!) cohesive. So, what happens when three very different women make such a bold and daring bet? Well, it's like a game of poker, one where hearts are wild...
"Hearts Afire" by Patrice Mitchell - Sabrina is visiting her best friend, Elise, from college at the Lonestar ranch in Texas. Fully prepared, but in no hurry, to find her "trigger tripper", she's still not expecting the sexy cowboy that comes on to her. The worst part though is he thinks she's Elise! When danger strikes at the ranch, Sabrina has no choice but to turn to the sexy man for protection, and maybe a little R&R western style as well. - I was very excited to discover this short, simply because it is the sequel to "Bad in Boots: Colt's Choice", a full length book by Mitchell that I really enjoyed. A lot of questions I had from that book were wrapped up and answered in this short. Josh and Sabrina burn up the local countryside with their passion and I for one loved their relationship. Despite the bet, Sabrina handled their affair with obvious love and Josh (siiiiggghhh), well, who wouldn't want to have their body guarded by such a fine male speciman? Very good descriptive details of the countryside made me feel like I was there. I strongly suggest reading "Colt's Choice" first and then this sequel. Both are good, but Mitchell did an even better job with "Hearts Afire".
"Wild Hearts" by Cheyenne McCray - Nicole Landford is the relationship daredevil of the three cousins. Fully anticipating her part in their bet, she takes on the challenge with genuine excitement. She's engaged two close friends to aid her in her search for her "trigger tripper" but her plans fall apart on her way to meet them. Stuck with a broke down car on a lonely dirt road, she's certainly in need of some help, just not from the closest rancher, Kev Grand. Kev's had his eye on the sprited woman for a while now, and when he finds her in need of help on his property, well, the help will be on his terms - finally. He's got Nicole right where he wants her and he's going to show her just how far his want goes. - Being that Nicole is the wild child of the three cousins, I thought it so appropriate that McCray wrote her story. McCray's style was perect for conveying the all-consuming passion that existed between Kev and Nicole. There's just the right level of kinky in her writing to spice up Nicole's story. Kev was the perfect man to somewhat tame the fiery woman. Eventually they see eye to eye on what matters most. A really fun pair to read about.
"Branded Hearts" by Nelissa Donovan - Lily Whitman is the "good girl" of the three cousins. Nicole is fairly certain the proper young lady hasn't been laid in, well, a very long time. Hoping her two cousins will welch on the bet, she nevertheless takes them up on their opportunity to experience a dude ranch in Montana. It doesn't take long for Lily to meet the man that trips her trigger and the shame of the matter is that he doesn't seem to trust her. Something bizarre is happening at the Red Bear Ranch, and owner Shain Stevenson has had enough. Determined to find the person responsible for illegal searches on his property, he still finds it impossible to resist his beautiful blonde guest. Something tells him she's special, important...- This short is where some paranormal elements figure in. Shain and his sister have a very interesting American Indian background that makes for an intiguing and mysterious plot line. Lily's role in the mystery is cleverly done. Her relationship with Shain is directly related to and affected by it. While satisfied with the story, I did wish it had been a little longer. The way it was left off has me hoping author Donovan is planning more after this one.

What do you get when you mix three women who are fed up with getting the third degree about their current single status by their well-meaning, single at the age of 55, meddling aunt, a thirty-day pact with four rules (one of them being to "go for the first man who trips their trigger"), three 100% alpha-male, scrumptiously delicious cowboys, and three fabulous romantica authors who know how to make their characters and story line explode off of the pages? Lucky for you ladies, you'll find the answer when you get your copy of this nothing-less-than-scorching anthology "Hearts Are Wild" by Patrice Michelle, Cheyenne McCray, and Nelissa Donovan.
HEARTS AFIRE by Patrice Michelle -- 5 stars -- http://www.patricemichelle.com/
Saddle up ladies! You're in for the ride of your life when you read how this sexy cowboy teaches his lady to ride a horse. This thrilling and scorchingly sexy cowboy story, penned by the magnificently talented Patrice Michelle will set your "Hearts Afire". The humorous, always sexy, deep, and loving characters, and the suspenseful, intriguing, and masterfully written multi-layered plot had me guessing what would happen next, and wishing I had my very own cowboy to quench the blazing inferno of lust this story ignited.
It's a case of mistaken identity, lust at first site, and love at second when Sabrina Gentry takes a long overdue vacation at the Lonestar Ranch. Thoughts of lassoing the sexy, hard bodied, leather scented cowboy run through her mind, and quickly turn into a reality that takes her down a path she never thought she would take, one that forces her to face her fears, and one that eventually will have her feeling more secure and loved than she's ever felt before. Josh Turner could do with a little soul healing too, he knows he has Sabrina's body, but he wants more than that, and once he faces down the demons of his past, he is able to secure his present and future happiness, Sabrina's heart, soul, and body.

WILD HEARTS by Cheyenne McCray -- 5 stars -- http://www.cheyennemccray.com/
I hope you're up for a little bareback, because I'm pretty sure that this fast-paced sexual romp is what they mean when they say "Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy"! Nicole is a hardheaded spitfire, and Kev is a demanding, possessive, dominant to the core, 100% alpha-male cowboy, and together they absolutely sizzle off the pages, and that makes for a blisteringly hot erotic story with quick-witted, brazenly bold, and hilarious characters! Now if only they can tame their "Wild Hearts" they'll both get what they want most out of life.
Who knew taking a wrong turn could turn out so right? Nicole Landford, unabashedly, loves no-strings-attached sex, but when the first man to "trip her trigger" is Kev Grant, the cocksure pain in the ass who, ever since elementary school, amused himself by arguing with her, she gets her hackles up and tries to resist the temptation of fulfilling her part of the pact with a month of wild and uninhibited sex with him ...someone probably should have told her that resistance is futile. Nicole's short lived resistance turns to pool of molten lava when Kev ignores her weak words of denial and listens instead to her body begging for the carnal pleasures only he could give her. Kev has waited a very long time for his chance with Nicole, and now that he's had her, he's never letting her go. Now all he has to do is convince the stubborn spitfire that she wants the same thing.

BRANDED HEARTS by Nelissa Donovan -- 5 stars -- http://www.nelissadonovan.com/
Shaine and Lily's story has enough spiritual mysticism to make even the hardest hearts believe in happily ever after, and I have a feeling there might be more of this spiritually supernatural, multi-layered story to be told. Lily isn't the bad girl that she starts off trying hard to be, and I found it heart wrenching when the fear of Shain breaking her heart comes through the pages loud and clear. Shaine is another 100% alpha-male cowboy who sears Lily's heart and soul, and soothes it when he finally embraces, and shares with her, his heritage.
When Lily Whitman, dressed like a bad girl out for a good time, arrives in Wolf Springs, Montana she stops for a bit of liquid courage before arriving at the Red Bear Ranch for some "hands-on" dude ranch experience. She soon comes face to face with her trigger-tripping tormentor, Shain Stevenson, and he indulges, what he thinks is, Lily's here-for-a-good time attitude when his penchant for spanking her ass turns into sexual romp neither one of them will soon forget. Danger and magic are in the air, and someone, or something, is trying to find an ancient artifact on the Red Bear Ranch, and will stop at nothing to attain it. And Shain is about to find out is that his gilded Lily isn't the "wham bam thank you ma'am" kind of woman he thought she was, but a woman just looking to give a little love, and as long as she keeps giving all of that love to him, nothing else matters.

Patrice Michelle consistently writes phenomenal stories, and this third in the "Bad in Boots"series -"Hearts Afire" is no exception, and I will be looking, impatiently, forward to the rest of the Bad in Boots series! This was my first time reading a Cheyenne McCray book, and now I'm wondering how I missed this fabulous author, but I can tell you, however, that "Wild Hearts" will not be my last! "Branded Hearts" by Nelissa Donovan was another magnificent first for me, and I would love to read more about the Red Bear Ranch and inhabitants, past, present and future, perhaps Nhya's story will come next? My only complaint about these three magnificent stories is that they had to come to an end.

"Wild Bill" Donovan hails from Buffalo, N.Y.. In this extensive work of author Brown, we're provided his full story (as much as can be told, anyway) from WWII, Switzerland, the initial days at Rockefeller Center (and later, Langley), legal inception and structural formulation and dialogue with the president and military services to form the OSS, presently known as the CIA.
Exceptionally well-written (and just as exemplary, by the way, as author Brown does with Britain's analogue "C") and informative. Superb on WWII OSS operations in Europe. Author Brown explains much of what didn't already know, and fills-in wonderfully where we do.
Not short on pages, it captivates for just about every one of them.
What was the understanding then? That Hoover feared no one? You may disclose otherwise.
Good man, that Donovan. Good too, Brown, for work well done.

What can I say about Naughty Nights, well those two stories sure are hot and sexy. I would very much like to meet my own O'Malley brother. Sean can dominate me any time he wants.

I read this book intending only to skim it. I could not put it down. The plotting is tight and the writing so descriptive that I actually felt like I was there. I could see, hear and smell the environment like I was sitting in its midst. I felt Andy's fear in the many situations that pitted his strength and intelligence against implacable, impersonal nature, his compassion for the dog and the "wild man", his excitement at discovering the very ancient burial in the cave, and his relief at being finally rescued. I was so taken with Hobbs' writing abilities that I am on Amazon tonight looking for more. If you like outdoor adventure and are curious about ancient man in the Americas, you will love this book!

Even though this book is targeted for young/teen readers, it is an excellent adventure story for anyone to enjoy. While it's not my favorite book, it is one of the best adventure stories I've ever read. If you crave adventure, & want to enjoy a great story, don't let the fact that this is a "youth reader" type book dissuade you from reading this one; its a grand adventure!

Just when I thought Cheyenne McCray couldn't write a more sexy and charismatic character than Jarrod Savage (Book 2-WILDCAT), she brings us Jess Lawless, the cowboy who can give a lady the ride of her life! Cheyenne McCray just keeps getting better. Jess Lawless is pure sin in cowboy boots and a Stetson. He is a determined man who lets little stand in his way when it comes to getting what he wants....and what he wants, what he needs is, Trace MacLeod. Jess seduces Trace a zillion times over, giving her a little touch here, a kiss there (you need a knife to cut through the sexual tension), but Jess stays true to his vow that they will not be together until Trace ends her relationship with Harold. Jess Lawless is relentless!
The explosive passion between Trace and Jess is lethal, undeniable and so very, very good! (Air conditioning won't help cool you down when reading this story).
Jess Lawless together with author Cheyenne McCray equals a lethal combination with steamy sex scenes, danger, humour and characters that kick-start a reader's heart.

Trace and Jess are an explosive combination on the pages of WILDCARD. I found myself wanting a cowboy like Jess for my own. He's rugged, sensual, and knows how to please a woman. Trace has returned home from England, practically engaged, and finds herself falling hard for this sexy cowboy. Neither of them will act on the magnetism between the two of them until Trace breaks her relationship with her former lover. But once she does, watch out! The book is no-holds-barred erotic, filled with passionate, sensual moments, and small doses of humor, too. Definitely a book for the keeper shelf.

Cheyenne McCray's Wildcard is more of an extended plot summary than an actual book.
Tracilyn McLeod comes back home after living in England for four years and falls hard for ranch hand Jess Lawless. She has issues of vulnerability from growing up on the plump side. Jess wants to get in her pants and, oh yeah, he's a secret DEA agent trying to take down a cattle rustling operation that's a front for drug smuggling. Of course his mind is rarely on his job in this book.
Most of this book is dedicated to Trace and Jess' sexual exploits and, in the beginning, her need to decide if she wants to throw away a career and two-year relationship in England for this rugged, cliched cowboy.
The book lacks a certain substance that was actually present in book 2, Wildcat. And in this installment, the mystery of who is behind the cattle rustling is almost an afterthought.
Ellora's Cave isn't always the place to go for great reading, but it's worth it when you find some gems like Woman on the Run and The Protectors.
There are too many substantial issues in this book for them to be dealth with in a few sentences. Wildcard could be a great book with more development.

Story #1 Jace and Skylar; Story #2 Rafe and Lani

Unleashed by Cathryn Fox:
Jace is a special agent working for a paranormal investigative group and he is on the hunt for a murdering werewolf. When his captain orders Jace to work with the beautiful psychic, Skylar, Jace is not pleased. The last thing he needs is a psychic figuring out the secret he has kept hidden for over 30 years...he is half werewolf, that's why he is so good at tracking other werewolves.
Skylar has one purpose, to make sure all werewolves are caught. Her parents were brutally murdered by werewolves and she has used her psychic powers since then to help in any way she can to eradicate the creatures.
As Jace and Skylar work undercover together they are sent to a pleasure resort, where sexual fantasies are realized and played out, to locate the elusive werewolf (Lucas) and then catch him in the act of murder when the full moon comes. As Jace and Skylar keep dibs on Lucas the sexual allure of the resort calls to their innermost desires. It doesn't take either of them long to realize they want more than just sex, they want love. But Jace is afraid to get involved, he fears the full moon and what might happen to his loved ones when he changes. Skylar does not believe that any man can accept her psychic abilities, so she tends to distance herself from men before they do the same to her.
Can Jace keep the fact that he is a werewolf hidden from Skylar, even during the sexual encounters when the beast within him threatens to reveal itself? What will happen when Skylar's psychic abilities reveal another werewolf in their midst? Or will the allure of the moon destroy what they long for?
This story was short but intense with a decent story line built in. The story takes place at a pleasure resort so expect a little bit of voyeurism involved, just enough to keep the pages sizzling. The characters ultimately stayed true to each other. I would give this story 4 stars.
Lion in the Shadows by Delilah Devlin:
Lani works with the volunteer fire department as a cave rescuer and Rafe is the new sheriff in town. Lani recently broke off her relationship with Rafe and he is not pleased. Lani does not want to fall in love. After seeing the way her father abused her mother she doesn't want to become involved with a man because of the fear that he will turn abusive.
When a boy is killed in a nearby cave Lani and Rafe encounter each other again after almost a month of complete seperation. Lani, while trying to keep an emotional distance, continues with her job but when she is lowered into the cave she sees the unbelievable. In what was once a completely closed cavern (until a recent explosion caused the opening) she spots a lion beside the dead boys body. She immediately leaves the cave and allows Rafe to comfort her as she explains what she saw. When a team goes back into the cave the boys body is still there but the lion has vanished. After comforting Lani, Rafe follows her to her house and an intensely hot episode takes place in her living room. Then strange things start to happen. The lion shows up at Lani's house several times and suddenly Rafe is dreaming he is the lion. In his dreams he learns the spirit of the lion and an indian warrior merged years ago, and the warrior wants Lani for his own. When Rafe tries to protect Lani the indian's spirit enters his body and the fight for dominance with Rafe begins. How will Lani react when she finds out Rafe is being possessed? Will Rafe be able to keep the indian in his spirit from touching the woman he has come to love? Or will the indian dominate the body he has encountered?
This story was not what I expected but it was intriguing, I was expecting a werewolf story. There was a lot of twists and turns to this short story that kept the pages turning and the lust between Lani and Rafe was intense. I would give this story 4 stars.
****Both stories were interesting but I found that the erotica became too much. I like a good erotic romance but these stories would become way too graphic, the language especially would get a little out of hand (I like some good dirty talking but too much just ruins the moment), in some instances but luckily the stories did not focus too much on that so it did not alter my overall rating too much. I would recommend this book for erotica fans.
