What a superior career guide! After looking at several books, I found Ms. Williams' Insider's Guide... and used it to prepare for a pharmaceutical sales career. Three weeks after buying the guide, I have a job with Pfizer!! There is no way that I could have prepared for those FIVE interviews without the Insider's Guide... I wasn't surprised by a single interview question. This book is the best investment I've ever made. I can't recommend it enough to anyone who wants a career in pharmaceutical sales.

I'm writing this review because the previous comment by "Chris S." is wrong. This isnt a book you should "read in one night" and it is not just general information. This book is an insider's GUIDE to pharm sales, not the insider's guide to info on pharma companies. The guy doesn't know what he's talking about. This book has EVERYTHING you need to know about getting into pharm. sales. It's the one stop book of info. that will give you exact interview questions, complete overview of the entire interview process, in depth explanations of what's expected of a pharm. sales rep, and a good overview of well, everything. It's almost like sitting with a pharm. sales rep and asking him/her questions. I was a college grad with barely any sales experience. I had a friend in pharm. sales who recommended this book, and with the help of the book and my friend, I was able to get through 6 VERY competitive interviews with a pharma powerhouse company. Again, I didn't have any professional sales experience. I bought other pharm sale books as well and returned them. Nothing compares to this book. If your looking to get into the world of pharmaceutical sales, just like the title says, then this book is for you. Don't pass it by and if you get the interview, don't for to ABC - Always Be Closing!

Four stars to Jane Williams for writing a comprehensive text like book on getting a job in pharmaceutical sales. Excellent content but could have been a bit more original in both style and format. I chose this book because after reading the reviews it promised to be the most comprehensive guide available. I was not dissappointed, but in order to be the most comprehensive information, I also ordered PharmRepSelect audio book CD and Interview Insight CD along with this book. Good choice, because it provides different view points from authors with different styles and experience.I recommend information on different formats, keeps it way less boring, together this is a five star package! Thanks to Insider's Guide book and PharmRepSelect audio CDs I aced my interview and now work for a pharmaceutical company selling anti cancer drugs. Going to work is rewarding and I thank these authors for their help in getting me a career I enjoy.

Okay people, I bought the book 3 months ago, and I must say it is the bomb!!! I have no sales experience, but this book guided me step by step. It even gives you various scenarios with various answers. It is outstanding for a newcomer to the industry. Take heed and get the book!! I wanted the newest edition, but it hadn't come out yet and I was desperate to begin my research. I had 2 interviews with the same company--I was referred by my pharmaceutical sales rep friend--and I believe they went well. I am waiting to proceed to the next step, which is with the district manager. Needless to say, I was overly prepared. The binder the book suggests you put together totally "WOWED" the interviewer. 2 words...THE BOMB!

As a professional sales consultant, I am always looking for books that I can utilize as a consultant. The new 7th Edition of the "Insider's Guide..." is absolutely fantastic! This book offers excellent advice on networking, the pharmaceutical industry and the new physician call guidelines for pharmaceutical sales representatives, understanding the interview process, using personality profiling to your advantage, 150 specific detailed pharmaceutical sales interview questions and answers as well as major pharmaceutical company profiles and contract sales organizations contact information.
The book is very well written, professionally edited, and reflects the author's credibility. It is easy to see why this book is being utilized by college and university sales and marketing professors for their sales and marketing courses and special sales classes.

If you can get them to read it with the attitude of the characters, you'll smile the entire time you're reading. Dont' let this one get by you!

This is timeless kiddie lit story: Ira is invited to his first sleep over. Ira's older sister, however, casts doubt in Ira's mind. Will Reggie laugh because Ira sleeps with a teddy bear? Should he go with or without his beloved teddy? His parents are supportive and Ira makes his decision, only to change his mind once again.
Jim Trealease, of Read-Aloud fame, read this story, with appropriate voices to a group of teachers. I was so enchanted with it that later, when I taught high school, I asked permission of my seniors to tell them Ira Sleeps Over. They loved it!

Not having read the book nor able to check it out from a library, I relied totally on reviewers 5 star comments when deciding to purchase this book. Just about 1/3 the way into the book my parental radar piqued at the conversation between Reggie and Ira concerning ghost stories, "scary, creepy, spooky ghost stories." To my sorrow, no mention or even allusion of this was in any of the reviews.
My youngest 3 children (two 5 year olds and a 7 year old) are from a culture that emphasizes ghosts, the boogie man, evil spirits, etc. in a demonic fashion. Prior to becoming part of our family, ghosts were used as a form of disciplne to terrorize them to comply and obey. Even after having them in our family for a year they still struggle with the memories of these demons. Since the ghost story is the climax in Ira Sleeps Over, I do not recommend this book.

The sheet music here is challenging, but playable and close enough to the composition on the CD that it's amazing! the vocal is soprano, the piano moderate difficulty, it's exactly what i expected, and i would encourage it's purchase if you're looking for the sheet music to the Josh Groban Closer album, all songs are in the book.

Love the fact that the words and translations are provided. Not an expert pianist but the music works for my purposes (playing for fun and to sing along with).
Don't love the fact that when I tried to press open the book so that it would lay on the music stand of my piano, the whole cover fell off (cheap binding materials, apparently). But at least now I can use it.

This book is a "must" have 4 all poets!
It not only has great poetry, it has great writing.
Most poetry books, in my opinion, are overly priced. This excellent book is well worth the price.
I highly recommend this book. I like that fact that it has so many different poets writing the poetry. A book this size would become boring if only one poet wrote it.
I appreciate the effort that went into publishing this book and I also love the warm colors of the bookcover.
This journey into "Timbooktu" is a great read.
Thanks 4 sharing with us, Mr. Vaughn Jr. & contributors.

...I personally feel that "Journey to Timbooktu," is an excellent edition to any anthology readers library. It has short fiction of many genre's (Horror, romance, suspense, ect.), heartwarming and at times tear jerking poetry. Also a variety of essays and other scriptured jewels, from some of the most talented writer's in the world. Mephis Vaughan has an eye for talent as well as a knack for the written word himself. I can't wait to see what he does with volume two. If you don't have a copy go out right now and buy one. As for those select few who can just order online and have it shipped to your home...buy two. You know friends and family are going to want to read one, so you need to have an extra one for yourself. To all the artists who contributed to the success of the manuscript..excellent job!!! I wish you continued success and best of luck on all future artistic endeavors.
Sincerely,
Levi James Baldwin III

Being new to Wiccan, I found this book not only useful as a date book, but as a reference book for the Craft. Granted I have other books to reseach Wicca with, but this provided historical facts about witchcraft, recipes, and ritual ideas as well. Definitely a good tool to have!
The only things I would change about the date book, would be to make the cover less conspicuous, for those of us who need to remain in the broom closet, and to choose artwork with different styles, not just the same simple, blocky art over & over again.

This book is definately a necessity! It's packed with great information that's not just limited to Wiccan holidays and topics. You'll find most major holidays of varying religions, stages of the moon, etc., marked down in each day. The space provided is just enough to write down the things you need to remember. There's also extra pages put in with short antedotes and recipes. I actually bought the book to keep my Wiccan Sabbats straight in my mind, but I think it's going to serve me even better when I go to use it in January. The only drawback is it's a bit thinner and flimsier than I imagined. I usually like a thick, zip-up agenda book which I can shove notes and things in; this is definately not one of those. However, as it's the only Wiccan datebook I've seen on the market, it's quite a find!

I have purchased the Llewellyn's Witches' Datebook every year for the past three years, and I am honest when I say I wouldn't make an appointment without it! It had large enough spaces for each date that you can take plenty of notes, while the book itself is small enough to fit in a purse or backpack. Helps me keep track of moon phases and doctors appointments! I recommend it to anyone!

Jim McKeown's books are the most comprehensive sources of accurate information on cameras in the world. Period. Other books may give more information on specific cameras, but if you are to have but one source to refer to,choose McKeown. He will never disappoint you.
Another wonderful camera expert and writer (they don't always go together) is Ivor Matanle. His two books are treasures. But if you want facts, go with McKeown. You will return over and over to his book. Speaking face to face with him is most rewarding. You realize you are learning from one of the world authorities.
Wonderful pictures, camera values (prices) rarity, etc. This book contains cameras even experts haven't heard about. But McKeown is the expert of experts, and you will keep this large, heavy, over 900 page book near just for the fun of reading it. Am I enthused? Yes! I have bought his books since the 4th edition in 1983-84, and always been pleased.
A lengthy review? Yes, but this book deserves much praise!

I have had the pleasure of owning (and still own) the 1976 Guide To Antique Cameras by Mckeown. It has been many years since then and the price for a guide has really risen. As an Antique dealer I found myself getting interested in collectible cameras once again. I knew I needed a guide and reviewed a 1996 copy a friend owned my McKeowen and was convinced this is the one to own. My library consists of at least 200 books on Antiques and 50 price guides on Art, Jewelry, clothing, Orientalia to name a few. I hesitated at the price for this guide, but after reasearching the options I knew this was the concise price guide for me. I own it and am happy I chose it and it makes me MONEY just owning it. I have 30 years of Amatuer collecting and selling under my belt and I really don't need a price guide just my wits, (that's what I told myself) but it just makes it soooo easy to reinforce my experience with a reference and value basis for my risks. Leica III,a,b,c,g, Mentor Reflex, Zeiss-Ikon Miroflex, Robot 35mm, Hasselblad, Kodak Field Cameras, Sept 35mm camera projector, TDC 3d projector & Nikon Cameras are a few of the cameras I have used this informational price guide in evaluating.

My McKeown's price guide has been an invaluable tool in selling old camera's at online auction sites. It not only gives you a solid idea of what a camera is worth, but it many cases it gives you some history and background as well.
There are pictures of almost every camera listed to help you identify your exact model, and it explains in detail the difference between similar models.
I can't think of anything that could be added to make this a more complete pricing guide.

This is a well written little starter book for someone who doesn't know much about music. Nice CD as well. I liked it enough to buy another copy to send to someone else who was a beginner. She liked it as well as I did.

I know that there is a fair amount of dislike amongst certain more "snobby" musicians who frequent certain discussion boards regarding Melbay's music books. Quite simply, I would say to ignore them when it comes to this book as they have no idea what they are talking about. This is a great beginner's quide. I play a few musical instruments, but the Appalachian dulcimer is the first one which I attempted to play without 1:1 lessons. The book is very easy for individuals to follow and, if they follow everything the author says, they will eventually learn to play like a pro. It's a great guide. I would definitely recommend getting it, however, with the DVD.
The BEST musical instruction book I've ever owned!

This is a wonderful book / CD / DVD! As a complete musical idiot, I thought I would never be able to learn an instrument. I've picked up so-called beginner's books before. They usually start with the premise that you can fluently sight read musical notation. This book is truly for the beginner! The companion DVD is extremely valuable as Madeline walks you through the basics of playing the mountain dulcimer.

This is a great book for beginners. You do not need to be able to read music to enjoy learning to play the dulcimer with this book (there is also a DVD that goes with the book so you can physically see how she is playing). It has a ton of standard tunes and takes you though a few modes. I would suggest actually learning the notes and not relying on the tablature forever, but what can I say, I am a musician and I like people to expand their musical boundaries. This book is a good start.

This is a good beginner's book that covers all the basics and gets you started on the dulcimer, especially if you don't have a teacher. However, it quickly goes beyond the beginner's stage and discusses more complicated concepts like playing in different keys. A true beginner will want more songs at the easy level to play before getting into the more complex material in this book.
The CD and DVD that go with the book are very helpful as other reviewers have said. These are included in the new version of the book. If you look closely on the front cover image, you will see it says DVD included. So there is no need to purchase it separately. The quality of the image on the DVD, which is blurry and appears to be much copied, is why I am giving this teach yourself method book set four stars instead of five.

This is THE book on miniature horses. My library would not be complete without it. If you can buy only one book, get this one. I've just acquired 2 minis and one more is on the way as soon as he is weaned. I've had full sized horses before, but this breed is somewhat different, with unique problems and advantages. Ms. Naviaux covers every related subject very well. History of the breed, coat colors, dwarfism, correct physical characteristics, miniature horse association registration, veterinary concerns, showing, etc. I've since bought additional books specific to coat color and veterinary care but I didn't really need them. I am thrilled to have found this book and it is a treasure.

This is the best book I've found pertaining to Miniature horses. It's well written and has lots of good advice. The second half has a lot of info on the genetics of color. While I thought I wouldn't find this very interesting, it's turned out that I spend lots of time reading this section and looking at the facinating pictures. I highly recommend this book for anyone seriously interested in minis.

This is the best book about miniature horses I have read to date. She goes in depth on several important things, two of which are color and breeding. I highly recommend it to anyone thinking of buying one. Or if you already have miniatures and you're looking for a really good book on the breed look no more! This one's it!

As a rider and trainer in the French Classical Method, along with publishing a magazine devoted to the French Arts -- [thecavalieronline*com] -- I enthusiastically endorse this book. I have used her methods with my own horses, both young and old to amazing success. My young horse has matured to a dazzling and delighful mount, having originally come to me with a "much too big for his britches" attitude. My older horse, a rescue and very shut down from his past experiences, is now a warm and vibrant horse thanks to listening to him through liberty techniques. Thank you Carol for your brilliant book.

I haven't even finished this book yet but I've been so impressed wtih it that I was compelled to write a review. Carolyn writes in a simple but deeply profound way that easily manages to transport you into the desert with her. In that sense, her writing style reminds me of Paulo Coelho. It is easy to feel what she is feeling, see what she is seeing amd enjoy every minute of her delicious experiences.
Her understanding of herd dynamics goes beyond anything I've learnt so far and I've studied natural horsemanship and animal communication for some years. Her clear distinctions between horses that are 'leaders' or 'dominant' are just brilliant. Whether you're already knowledgeable or not in this type of horsemanship/animal communicaiton, this is a highly refreshing, deeply moving and very beautiful book that will leave a lasting imprint on your soul. I would recommend this book to absolutely everyone that loves nature, animals and horses and will be ordering some copies for Christmas presents this year. Bravo Carolyn!

As a person who loves to visit with equine psychics, trainers, & all those close to the horse, I really enjoyed reading Carolyn's childhood memories. I had some that were amazingly close to hers and it's fun knowing someone else had similar experiences.
I have been & would recommend it to all serious horse lovers and those that want to really understand horses.

I LOVED this book! It expressed my own thoughts and values with horses so very well, and explained why I do so many of the things I already do with them. I felt like Carolyn Resnick was telling my own inner story, and I found her prose to be like soul candy--I often re-read passages just for the delight of them. A wonderful book that delights while it is educating.

For all you horse lovers out there who aren't quite satisifed with your present relationship with your horse despite all the training -- whether it be Natural Horsemanship or the usual "standard" approaches -- you'll find this book a great step up and out of the many current mindsets in horse training. In my view, you truly owe it to yourself and your horses to at least give this book a good read and really consider the Carolyn Resnick Method of training. I truly feel you will be glad you did and will learn things that will give you a better bonding and understanding of your horse(s).

These stories were first told to his own children by Thornton Burgess. Then they were read to me by my mother over 60 years ago. They were long out of print when my own children were of the right age but they are back for my grandchildren. They are highly recommended.

Thornton Burgess was a naturalist and the stories of animals in Old Mother West Wind are wonderful. The characters attitudes and behaviors are true to the animal portrayed. A wonderful way to get acquainted with nature. Perfect book for an adult to read to a younger child.

A book of short stories about animals who talk, _Old Mother West Wind_ is enjoyable for a child of about five years to about eight as a read aloud (or older, if your child isn't terribly worldly.) These short tales often attempt to explain "how", as in how the skunk got his stripe, and have, in addition to the animals, characters such as Mother Nature and the Merry Little Breezes.
Many of these stories attempt to teach a moral, though often it is not obvious due to the author's skill. These are old stories and they reflect the values of the time they were written in. My ADHD eleven year old read the book himself and enjoyed it and is looking forward to the sequel.
Here are the stories included:
1) Mrs. Redwing's Speckled Egg - Mrs. Redwing has just laid a beautiful new egg and the Merry Little Breezes must help keep it safe from Tommy Brown.
2) How Reddy Fox Was Surprised - When Johnny Chuck wanders too far from home, Reddy Fox decides to play a trick on him. But the joke's on Reddy Fox.
3) Why Grandfather Frog Has No Tail - Grandfather Frog tells the Merry Little Breezes why Mother Nature took away all frogs' tails.
4) Why Jimmy Skunk Wears Stripes - When Mrs. Ruffed Grouse's eggs are destroyed by "a pair of eyes," the whole forest seeks the culprit. When Jimmy Skunk is found out, his days of night camouflage are over. (This was my son's favorite.)
5) The Willful Little Breeze - When one of the Merry Little Breezes stays in the Green Meadow after Old Mother West Wind has gone home behind the Purple Hills, he foils Hooty the Owl and Reddy Fox's plans to eat Mr. Bob White and his family.
6) Reddy Fox Goes Fishing - While Reddy Fox sleeps, he dreams he can fish as well as Billy Mink, but Reddy Fox just ends up all wet.
7) Jimmy Skunk Looks for Beetles - As Jimmy Skunk looks for beetles, he doesn't make any friends, but is rather selfish and destructive. However, the adventure really starts when Peter Rabbit decides to help.
8) Billy Mink's Swimming Party - Billy Mink invites Jerry Muskrat and Little Joe Otter to a swimming party at the Smiling Pool.
9) Peter Rabbit Plays a Joke - When Peter Rabbit tries to play a joke on Johnny Chuck and Reddy Fox, the joke back-fires.
10) How Sammy Jay Was Found Out - When Happy Jack's store of nuts disappears, Old Mother West Wind forms a committee of the whole to solve the mystery.
11) Jerry Muskrat's Party - When Jerry Muskrat throws a swim party, many of his guests aren't having any fun. Then, Little Joe Otter comes up with an idea that saves the party.
12) Johnny Chuck Finds the Best Thing in the World - When Striped Chipmunk hears Old Mother West Wind tell the Slender Fir Tree that she's found the Best Thing in the World, everyone starts to search for it--and everyone imagines it as something different.
13) Bobby Coon and Reddy Fox Play Tricks - When Bobby Coon and Reddy Fox trap Johnny Chuck inside his home, Jimmy Skunk helps Johnny Chuck surprise the two of them.
14) The Tale of Tommy Trout, Who Didn't Mind - Though Tommy Trout's mother tried to warn him of the dangers outside of their little pool, Tommy Trout didn't listen.
15) Little Joe Otter's Slippery Slide - When Little Joe Otter, Billy Mink, and Jerry Muskrat build a mud slide on the bank of the Smiling Pool, Peter Rabbit's curiosity gets the best of him.
16) Spotty the Turtle Wins a Race - When Peter Rabbit, Reddy Fox, and Billy Mink decide to race to see who's fastest, Peter Rabbit teases Spotty the Turtle that he should join. Spotty the Turtle does, and uses his mind to win the race.
