i would like to say that this is not a beginners book for beekeeping. the very first line states "this book covers the second and following years of beekeeping and is written for hobbyist beekeepers who have kept bees for at least one year". it does recommend a beginners book which is a companion volume to this book.

This will keep all the words in your memory and keep extra words out. It will not teach you the words it will just make them stick. A combination of personal instruction and review from this book will keep you work right. Do not go beyond your experience. Getting wrong words out is difficult. The book will be there at midnight while an instructor is not. Use it and learn it well and 10 yrs later you will know it like yesterday. This is a fifth printing but no one has one, they just know someone who has one.

I almost returned this book because it wasn't a price guide - I'm very glad I kept it. It was a good read - factual, historical, witty - hated to finish reading it. As a price guide it's no great shakes - the listing at the back of the book is just ok. However, there are lots of price guides, but there aren't many books as well written and fun to read as this one. Especially good are the listings of resources - from newletters and books to museums and clubs for all the kitchen stuff one could ever hope to collect. The black and white photos are good but the light hearted tone is what makes this book well worth its price. I learned a lot from Ms. Stoneback. Highly recommended.

Kites for Kids presents all the kite related technical terms with easy to understand explanations. There are clearly labeled diagrams both for showing the parts of a kite and explaining the directions. The fifth chapter explains the secret of flight, how to launch and retrieve a kite, how to deal with common problems, and how to fly kites safely. All these things were helpful when working on a kite project with a group of boys. Kites for Kids lists the materials you will need and has ideas for where to find them--a great time saver. There are directions for 13 kites from the classic diamond kite to space cruisers to sky monsters. Each kite begins with a brief introduction about the history or flying abilities. Amazing moments in kite history are scattered throughout the book. If you're new to kite building, or trying to build kites with kids, this book is a great guide.

What a great book, even for someone who isn't a cat lover. I bought this for a friend but after flipping through it, ended up having to buy another so I could keep a copy. Martha Bayless has written what will surely be a classic in the field of kitty lit (not to be confused with kitty litter). I hope this is the first of many more amusing and, yes, practical books like this.

An excellent book for the Knife collector, Vietnam era militay buff,or anyone with an interest in U.S.involvement in Vietnam. Excellent photography of a sampling of knives used by our forces with a short paragraph of maker and history. Also included are various patches, plaques, hats/berets and awards. The premise of this book is a pcture is worth a thousand words...and it is. I found the book excellent reading!!!! It is primariy pictures of an excellent quality. Recommended for the fighting knife, or military buff.

This is an excellent book for teaching and learning the craft of kumihimo braiding. It teaches the basics of the tools and necessities of braiding. The language is simple and easy to understand. I was able to follow the directions from the illustrations and guides in the manual. It was easy to complete the projects.

As a student of Chinese long weapons I found this book to be very well written and compiled. Not only were the depictions of the series of exercises with the weapon well formulated, the comparsion of the kwan-dao with other weapons from the same era was just as insightful. I thought it a rather thick book for such a topic until I realized that the content covered the topic in much greater detail than expected.

This book was a fascinating compilation of history with an international company (iosnet.com) as its featured case study. It offered the opposing view to recent negative media coverage of outsourcing and had a chart comparing the methods of traditional outsourcing and Laborgistics. Though it's written in textbook-style format, I was able to understand the big picture and learn about how a new way of outsourcing is potentially helping American workers, and providing jobs overseas to people who wouldn't otherwise have jobs, according to the author. I'll be interested to see if the media covers this side of the outsourcing debate.

I love the Language Practice books. Of all the grammar sources I have tried to use with my classes, this one is the best! The directions are clear, and they don't expect students to unnecessary tasks. I highly recommend this series of grammar workbooks.
