I am not an expert or professionally involved in the mining industry but I bought this book for an overview of a particular sector of the FSU economy. It is extremely professionally produced and contains all the information you could want on this particular branch. It does not extensively explore the economy of coal mining in Russia/Ukraine/ other ex-FSU states after the end of the soviet government but that is understandable given the dislocation of the governments in the new states and its detrimental impact on statistical gathering and info. If you are at all involved in the coal industry or just interested in a detailed technical account of the state of the soviet planning/management/development process as seen from a single sector, I would recommend this book.

James David Davis did an excellent job of putting together information for the novelty phone collector. Great pictures along with clear, concise information make this book a must-have for anyone who collects novelty phones. I refer to this book almost daily! It's very well thought out, with different chapters and categories which make it extremely easy to use and reference. It covers not only working phones, but also phone collectibles, such as miniatures, and toy phones as well. With the limited amount of reference books out there geared toward the novelty phone collector, it is very refreshing to not only have this book available, but also have it written by someone who is himself a novelty phone enthusiast. I am looking forward to his next book.

This is an impressive heavy knife ( for a pocket folder ) with a large blade. The new Positive knocking devices CRKT has been adding to its liner locks is ok but I feel unneccessary. I have never had a problem with the liner locks, from this company, slipping. The new device has a pin that holds the locking mechanism in place that you have to disengage before unlocking the blade.

I find it a bit cumbersome. The movement to disengaged the extra lock requires fine motor skills that would be difficult to perform if under stress, cold, etc. This knife is designed to be one handed operation. I'd like to see it offered without the extra lock.

The fit and finish is excellent as it the blade. The factory edge is very sharp. The one handed assist in opening the blade is easy to master so that a flick of your thumb slaps the blade firmly in place.

CRKT makes excellent products and this knife is no exception. I would recommend it to Law Enforcement, Military, Search and Rescue or hunters. Others may find the knife's overall size too big for day to day carry.

This book focuses on making wooden lures - from a block of wood through a finished lure. You begin by shaping wood blanks into the forms needed for a spincasting lure. The book then guides you through weighting, painting, wiring, and adding hooks. You end up with a one-of-a-king, usable, believable, working lure. The only potential issue one may have with this book is that it requires a decent level of proficiency in painting (a difficult skill that I have not mastered). This not withstanding, if you are interested in making your own lures as a hobby, this is the book for you
