Teens and the Job Game: Prepare Today - Win it Tomorrow
Outstanding needed this along time back certainly could have used it in raising my own. But I still have another chance and that's with my grandsons ages Evan 14 and Matt 16.Both now have copies of this book. Would you believe I actually received phones calls." Grandma you were really right about all that stuff ".I am so very happy to know that there finally is a book that gets to the core of what it takes to prepare for the real job world. Congrats! This would be a bonanza for the school system.

This book takes you back to the basics of Texas Hunting and Fishing and tells you things you used to know or should know.
Not for the most advanced outdoorsman, but for most of us this is a very good book. Well written from a knowledgable source,
I read it from cover to cover and thoroughly enjoyed it.
very well written book with a lot of "heart" from author.

One of the most well rounded, well written books on texas outdoor subjects I have read. It is obvious the author had "been
there" in order to obtain such a well rounded education in the outdoors. I am eagerly awaiting his next piece.

Boy was this book a good read! I have been hunting for about 14 years now, and my wife bought me this book way back at Christmas.
It is one of those books that you just don't want to put down. Danny Wall's program for using the TP&W report statistics to
locate a lease was the most innovative idea I've heard of in a long time. Sometimes a lease can fool you, or a rancher will
tell a tall tale about the number of deer, but the TP&W census numbers don't lie. Danny's ideas about how to avoid theft on
the lease were real good, too. I hadn't thought of some of 'em before. He also includes a chapter on safety at the lease,
including what things your wife needs to know in case of an emergency. Having an epinephrine pen on the lease could also potentially
save a life.
All in all, this book was a real good gift from my wife. It is hard to find gifts for deer hunters that we hadn't already told people what to get us, and this was both a surprise and had a lot of real good information that I am using on my hunts.

I know there are a multitude of white-tailed deer books, but this one really fills a special niche. After comparing various
kinds of hunting available in Texas (including public hunts on wildlife management areas), Danny concentrates on the lease
hunting system, because he considers it the most satisfying for the serious hunter in Texas. Never before have I seen anyone
explain how to take the periodic reports by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and turn the data into a lease locating
system. Then Danny walks reader through the rest of the process, from meeting the landowner, touring a lease with him or her,
walking for signs on a follow-up visit, and putting together a compatible hunting group for the lease. Rules, youth participation,
blinds, safety, theft, trailers, and meals that work are all there. In fact, the camp craft that comes along with what you
may expect the deer to be doing is so well thought out that any graduate student preparing to go out on a field study might
do well to read Danny's discussions. After looking through Danny's lease location and evaluation system, you can see why friends
often ask him for help. This book gives people the tools to do it themselves.
Danny Wall's book, "Texas White-tailed Deer Hunting - Doing It Right" is written from the heart. The author is more comfortable as a storyteller than a writer, but that makes the chapters more fun and colorful to read. I am happy to recommend this book to everyone who enjoys deer and the outdoors.

As a wildlife biologist, I find this a book that belongs in my collection along side of Sand County Almanac (Aldo Leopold),
Desert Solitaire (Edward Abbey), Nature Writings (John Muir, and others.
If only we would find and elect another President who values and appreciates the outdoors and nature, and like Teddy Roosevelt, would take concrete action to protect it for future generations and for its own intrinsic value.
Definitely worth obtaining, if only to experience a more personal side to this great President. Many folks (particularly those young enough that they know not much about this President) would be eyes-wide-open that a President of the U.S. could be such a naturalist and true outdoorsman.

This book is for anyone that enjoyes and cares about our American Wildlife. With little support from the government and even
less cash,Terry Grosz and his officers performed miracles to catch all sorts of bad guys. Just how this was accomplished
is what makes it so interesting. This book will leave you laughing, crying and angry enough to write to every official you
can reach. Terry loved what he did and it shows in every paragraph.

dedication to protecting our natural resources and his dedication to conservation agencies in general. Everyone of his books
are a collection of an incredible man's service to fauna, flora and mankind. Do not miss a single one of his books!

I have had the glee of corresponding with Craig the past 8 years via e-mail. He has sent me loads of poems and has always
shown a special talent for words, and to select those words into expressive poems. Craig is very articulate, a truly gifted
person. Some of his poems can sum up something important in two lines only - like in: "Be careful what's on the spoon, when
someone else feeds you." other poems can be MUCH longer, including quite whitty imagery, reflecting, pondering or a bit ironic
when wrestling with heartfelt issues. It means a lot to Craig to share his belief in Christ. He strongly feels that he has
been redeemed and saved into a new life. Several poems journey into the subject of his war experience like "Orbits", one of
his best poems in my oppinion and I have also heard Craig read it out loud on tape, which was champion! He is not afraid of
sharing his wounds thereof, as in "Even a seasoned warrior" and "Soldier, Soldier" and "Facing Cain's work" to mention some
of Craig's most intense work, in my view. Keep up the good work Craig, you're GREAT in my book!! (most of the time)

This is a pre-Internet book, but also a classic in the job hunting field, giving generally good advice on most aspects of
the job search process in a thoughtful, organized manner. Includes career decision making, resumes, interviewing, search techniques
and salary negotiations, but does not include anything on progress measurements in search. An excellent
book for learning most of the basics of job search in one place. Even though it's a bit old, it's well worth reading and
will help you be more effective in job search.

Growing up, I always believed in the existence of spirits and guiding forces. Knowing the author personally, I can tell you
that everything she writes is true. I have never known her to be dishonest or misleading. Not until now, though, have I
been able to understand her remarkable gift. If you choose to read this book, as I recommend anyone to do, please read without
prejudice. Keep an open mind, and you will see that there are truly very special people out there. Especially a lady in
Gulfport who I am blessed to be able to say IS my other mother.

I've always wondered why various "feelings", either of forboding or of anticipation occurs at certain points in one's life.
For instance, one time while driving home one night, I felt a strong 3 taps on the back of my right shoulder that really had me thinking if someone was in the back seat. I ignored the occurrence but continued on about one quarter mile to the nearest store. When I arrived, I immediately exited the car. Expecting to find an friend playing some prank, there was no one there. Suddenly I felt the familiar tingle on the back of my neck and proceeded home.
I'd say that within one tenth of mile in front of me, pick-up truck followed by a police cruiser appeared from a side street; thankfully going away from me.
This is one example of "odd" happenings that I have witnessed in my lifetime and always have wondered, WHY?
Since I have found this book, I've discovered explanations of how God sends angels to help in times of need. The author tells the story of her discovery of her gift from her childhood to present day, and how our Lord has guided her to help solve problems incuding murders- The latter being from the victims themselves giving her the clues through "clairaudience."
I rate this book high because it helps all of us to understand the "gift" we all share, and how to use it.

"Teens and the Job Game" was a very helpful and encouraging book. Ms. Slomka gave many helpful tips and suggestions for teens on how to prepare for and handle a new or first time job.
"Teens and the Job Game" is a very well-written book and the writer seems passionate about helping teens succeed. I think the "hook" could have been stronger, as I was not completely drawn in at first. The real life examples are cool, because it gives the reader something to relate to. The quotes and helpful tips made the reader pause and really think about what Ms. Slomka was trying to get across. For me, this book was what my parents have been telling me for a number of years. It stressed how teens should present themselves and how to act and talk around other people. But for teens who have never thought about their future, this is a good book to encourage them to better themselves and prepare for life beyond middle school and high school. It will teach them how to present themselves in a more appealing manner. It will also stress why doing well in school will help them prepare for their future career with confidence. For me, even though I have heard many of the "tips" about the importance of your clothes, your speech and your posture, this book made me realize even more how important it is to care about how you look and present yourself to others. It was nice to hear it from another source other than my nagging parents. Overall, I felt that `Teens and the Job Game" was a very interesting book that will give teens a clear idea of what is needed to, "prepare today - win it tomorrow."
