The first permanent Huguenot settlement in New Jersey was made at Hackensack in 1677, with a second at Princeton a few years later. Following the revocation of the Edict of Nantes by Louis XIV in 1685, Huguenots settled widely throughout the colony. This work, prepared by the former treasurer of the Huguenot Society of New Jersey, contains thumbnail genealogical and biographical sketches of hundreds of early Huguenot families in the Garden State, including Allaire, Baerdan, Barbarie, Bard, Bartow, Bassett, Bellangee (Bellinger), Bertolf, Bertrand, Berrien, Bessonnett, Blanchard, Bodine, Boudinot, Bourdette, Broucard, Brower, Carree, Corriel, Cossart, Demarest, De Baun, De Camp, De Cou, De Haut, de Mandeville, De Mott, De Vos, Du Bois, Du Mont, Du Puy, Durand, Durie (Duryea), Farrand, Freneau, Garrigue, Gaskill, Gaston, Gaudebec, Gerneaux, Guymard, Hamilton, Hasbrouck, Jacques, Joline, Kip, La Grange, Lafetra, Lafever, Lawrence (Laurents), Le Cock, Le Conte, Le Maistre, Le Roux (Larew), Le Seur, Lefevre, Lucas, Marchand, Mestayer, Noau (Noe), Parsell, Perrin, Piatt, Pintard, Prall, Provost, Roy, Rulon, Rougnion (Runyon), Stelle, Tiebout, Tillow, Trieux (Truax), Valleau, Vaquellin, and Vincent. This Clearfield edition features a new, more readable format with a new index.

Barbara Kalata's scholarly work "One Hundred Years, One Hundred Miles, New Jersey's Morris Canal" takes the reader on an in depth journey through the mists of history to discover the origin, workings and tragic demise of one of America's greatest feats of civil engineering. Ms. Kalata makes the wonderful history of the great endeavor come alive with factual and anecdotal stories. It is well paced and shows the tremendous depth of Ms.Kalata's research. This is a benchmark book for all of those who are interested in great works of civil engineering, New Jerseyana and general history. Highly enjoyable.

So you think all romances are alike -- well you could never be more wrong! You may think you know where the story is going and BAM it goes in a completely different direction.
As a Jersey girl myself, I love the setting and how New Jersey is portrayed - yes we have highways and malls, but there is much much more if you take the time to see and experience it.
The book was a Christmas present and I could not put it down once I made the time to start it. It was very riveting! So Amamda Harte, when can I expect something else great to read?

In Loving Memory of New Jersey State Trooper Carlos M. Negron is a fitting tribute to a fallen hero. The author, Jennie Negron Bethea, pays homage to her brother who was killed in the line of duty. The book is replete with letters of condolence, resolutions and proclamations regarding Trooper Negron. A special tribute is paid by the inclusion of poems, letters, and advice on how to cope after the death of a loved one. It is a truly touching and inspiring story and will warm the hearts of those who have known a police officer killed in the line of duty.

Ed Lenik's book is a classic description of iron mining history in Northern NJ and Southern NY. Hundreds of hikers use this book to explore the archaeological remains of what once was a thriving industry. Ed's writing is lean, clear and accurate. It has not only my highest recommendation, but is a standard item in most local backpacks.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was informative and gave a lot of interesting facts of folklore and history of the State of New Jersey, from it's discovery and early settlement right up to modern times. A good read for youngsters and oldsters alike, especially for young Jerseyites who can go out first hand and visit some of the places and historical sites. It will engender a love of history and a pride for those who live in this State.
I recommend it for all ages!

My father was a huge fan of Monsignor Michael Doyle and the work he has done for the city and the people of Camden. When this book was first published, my father raced to pick up a copy - and have it autographed by the man himself. It wasn't until after my father passed away that I inherited his copy of the book, and it has been a bedside staple ever since. This collection of letters and poetry written by Monsignor Doyle touches every part of your heart and soul. There are hearty laughs and stinging tears on the pages of this book, and the words and the works of Monsignor Doyle are an inspiration to us all.
