This book absolutely exposes the worlds fisheries, the sport of fishing and the necessity of fishing in many societies through a myriad of honest and beautiful photographs. It's as if you were able to travel to the worlds far off lands first hand in order to document it's most interesting fishing. Sobering, inspiring and delightful all at once.

I have had this book for ten years, and it has been a wonderful resource for my family. The book covers everything form finding equipment, food, first aid, and recreational activities. Miss Liston provides gental, motherly advise to the novice family camper. A lovely book.

I have used the ASA version for years. It is easy to read, well organized and fits nicely in the flight bag! A must for CFI's and pilots alike.

This book is full of things you won't find anyplace else, maybe because most of them haven't been around for a hundred years or so. The book is like wandering through a living museum. We bought a country place a year ago and this book (and Farm Devices, Harris on the Pig, Farm Conveniences and fences, Gates and Bridges, all of which we also own) are exactly the right thing if you want to add an authentic touch to a porch or a barn. My friends love reading through them. I enjoy them immensely. The "introductions" are wonderful, too. There are three by Dennis Boyles and they are the best - hysterically funny!

Wow! The iron tools of fields, sheds and barnyards when I was a lad are alive and well in this book. There needs to be a companion CD with the sounds of the implements working. (You never forget the sound of a poorly oiled hay carrier in a hot, dusty barn as it moves across the rail to where you dump your next pile of hay - and forking work.) Always did like line drawings, and there are plenty here.

The articles had some neat patches for holes in my understanding of windmill pumps and numerous other items. Much of the book is as useful now as it was then. An example is the table that shows the life in years of various woods used as fenceposts. (Osage Orange still has almost as many nicknames as favorite body parts.)

If you grew up with them as I did, it will be hard to read this without thinking of some of the fine people that used to operate the equipment in these pages. Back when daily work relied more on armstrong lift and hay-eating horsepower than hydraulic or electric gadgets, the tough regimen helped mold some great qualities and fine people. They left us clean, fertile fields and a good example. Sure miss a lot of them.

I can honestly say this is the best Fee deposit tube fabrication drawing I've ever seen.

This work is an efficient survey of agriculture and its relation to population growth through history. The chapters are designed to focus on population growth through time. For example chapter 2 is: Reaching for 5 million ( to 8000BC); chapter 3 is: Towards 50 million ( 8000-2000BC); chapter 4 is: The first half-billion ( 2000BC-1500AD); chapter 5 is: Towards the first billion (1500-1825) etc. Under each heading is a discussion of the critical agricultural developments during that time period. The last chapter focuses on the problems of feeding 10 billion people in the future.The research is detailed and knowledgable. The sources are modern and uptodate. The writing is precise. It is an excellent book that covers a lot of ground in a small compass. Highly recommended.

This book is an excellent reference to telecommunication engineers, providing features, equipments and data about Installation Optical Network. It's easy to read, besides being one of the most important literary composition about this matter. It's useful to optical projects, exhibiting the technical data by a practical way. So, without the slightest doubt, it's important to purchase it.

While small, this book is packed with the most detailed information I have yet found on the subject. The subject of artillery, especially rocket artillery, has been overlooked by authors & publishers for far too long. Without using excessively technical language, Mr Gander elaborates in detail on WW2 German rocket artillery equipment, tactics, and organisation. I heartily recommend this book to any modeller, whether a basic kit builder or an advanced scratch-builder.
