As a graduate instructor for technology courseware I was please to find such a good resource for the history of the computer industry. This is a great resource for those in the industry who wish to learn more about the early evolution of computers. It also captures the length that our society has used computers and puts a framework around what people "think" is a 10 - 20 year old industry. It definately should be a part of anyone's library who has a role in the computer industry and wishes to understand the past and how it relates to the future.

I checked out five books from the library on setting up a home shop from scratch. Even Norm has one. This one was the best by far of what I was looking for so I bought a copy. Although I don't have the same space available, I was able to utilize alot of the secrets from this book to make my available space much better.

I picked this book up, as I was searching for anything interesting, along these lines. Dan Brown had perked my interest, but cloaked it in fiction. I wanted more, but particularly in the line of facts, historical and hidden.
The author has no fear. He comes right out and says, that Mary Magdalene was the wife of Jesus Christ. When Jesus was crucified, Mary Magdalene was pregnant and fled to France to avoid persecution. She gave birth to Sarah, who became a descendent of the Merovingian dynasty.
The Vatican has continued to conceal this truth.
All this, written within the front flap of the book's dust cover.
The Da Vinci Code revealed these theories in the bestselling novel. Rene' Chandelle exposes the truths behind the fiction. As the author states, each reader is free to believe or disbelieve this alternative account of events. To silence the events themselves is no longer possible.

I, highly recommend this DVDs, there is 14 outstanding video documentaries in the compilation. It is not "How To" videos but more like a private interview with the artist and the understanding of his process to create master pieces.
Beautiful videography, it is very entertaining with great music, a great visit of the home and workshop of those amazing wood artists

These are the best Bible maps I have ever used. My Bible study group literally went "Ooooo!" when I showed the maps to them. While reading through the book of Acts, I was able to follow precisely where the disciples traveled. Every location listed in scripture could be located on these maps. Probably the best thing about them is that they are the same size as a standard bible and can be attached inside. They are compact and easy to read. The overlays showing modern day geography have been particularly helpful when studying current events.

The book provides very thorough insights into biological foundations in relation to water resource management in North America. For those learners and researchers who are interested in biogical monitoring using index of biotic integrity(IBI), there is a lot to gain from the book. One strength of the book is that it provides many examples of IBI regional applications, which are especially useful for those who are planning to introduce IBI to regions where it has not been developed or tested so far. Many chapters are devoted to fish IBI, while invertebrate IBI is also explored a bit. Another strength of the book is that it relates biological criteria to conservation policy, thus making the nature of it interdisciplinary and practical. The book is also practical in the sense that it elaborated on field sampling methods. The book is probably best for intermediate/advanced learners and researchers of this field, and a bit unsuitable for public reading. Biological foundations and their integration into conservation policy in this book are also valuable for people who are working in freshwater conservation and water resource management outside North America. In fact, I am a graduate student from Japan studying in Canada, and I am sure that the book contains valuable information for my home country, too. I definitely rate the book 5 stars!

The book begins by covering what it means to be an electronics technician. This section describes the wide variety of work electronics technicians do, from medical electronics to industrial electronics and communications electronics to computer electronics and much more. Each of these different fields offer their own challenges and opportunities for excellent careers. The book continues with an overview of today's electronics workplace and look into the future, as well a review of what electronics technicians need to know to succeed. The introductory section closes with profiles of five actual electronics technicians, describing the kinds of challenges each faces.
The second section of the book discusses how to become an electronics technician. The various ways of gaining the required education are reviewed, followed by strategies for making the most of your classroom experience and things you can do beyond the classroom to prepare you to succeed as an electronics technician. There is an excellent discussion of the value of technician certifications and an entire chapter on information technology certifications, with emphasis on the A+ Certification. The section wraps up with advice on finding, getting, and keeping that important first electronics technician position.
The final section of "Becoming an Electronics Technician" introduces the reader to the electronics field. Starting with a discussion of the various methods of 'breadboarding' electronics circuits; a crucial step in learning how the circuits used in electronics devices work. The book continues with tips on troubleshooting circuits, information on how various electronic transducers work, and a short course on solid-state electronic components. There's an excellent chapter on electronics safety, from electrical shock to hazards from electronics tools and chemicals commonly used in electronics. In addition to a short discussion on surface mount technology and a wide range of electronics projects, the book contains an excellent review of circuit simulation software.
The author, Ronald A. Reis, teaches electronics at Los Angeles Valley College. He wrote the first edition of "Becoming an Electronics Technology" in 1993 and has updated it every few years as the electronics industry and economy has changed. The book is written in an engaging and clear style that makes it easy to understand.
Each chapter includes review questions, individual or group activities, and issue for class discussion. This gives the student a quick way to reinforce the material in the book and to delve further into the matters covered. Also, for those considering using this book for an introductory course on electronics, there is an instructor's manual.
All in all, this is an excellent book that does an outstanding job of helping one understand what the electronics technician profession is (and isn't). I strongly recommend this book for anyone interested in learning about the electronics and trying to determine if being an electronics technician might be for them.
