Simply the best book around to decypher the mystical world of meteorology :-) Dont be baffled by the weather :-) Great for anyone studying for their FAA ground exams, ATPL, Dispatch.... well recommended

I enjoyed the brevity of information, and the woodsy style it was presented in. The illustrations are really cool.

As a new Backpacker a friend of mine told me this was the guide to have. The book is very well written and enjoyable to read. The lists of different equipment is very helpful. This is a book I would recommend to anyone wanting to learn more about backpacking.

Given the dozens of backpacking books on the market, you might be inclined to forego this title in favor of a more readily available one. But it's worth the wait. "Backpacking" by Jack McDowell is a well-organized volume that introduces, step-by-step, the many joys and rewards of backpacking. Part of a laudable Sports Illustrated series from a few years back.

This book does not try to make you an expert backpacker, and therein lies its beauty. Harry Roberts knows that experience is the only route to expertise, so he only tells you enough to start getting experience. He doesn't confuse you with more information than you need, but he doesn't leave out anything important. As a result, this book has more usable information in 60 pages than most have in 600. He doesn't bore you with endless detail about gear brands and features (which will change next week anyhow.) Instead, he gives you a short, practical gear list and tips on what you do - and don't - need on the trail. If, like me, you're a recreational backpacker, this may well be the only book you'll ever need.

Camping is actually a pretty broad term anymore... People are tent campers, car campers, backpackers, canoe campers, and on and on. This leans more towards backpacking, and does a nice job squeezing in many of the most important points for beginners in a short book of 67 pages for a great price. He helps you chose your gear such as a camp stove, sleeping bag, tent, knives, clothing, boots, pack, etc. The book probabley concentrates on prparing food more than anything, and that is appropriate considering where you will be. He also helps put together a packing list, ideas for cooking and recipes, and many important safety tips.
This is a nice supplemental item for your library of books on the subject if you have one and enjoy collecting them as I do. In fact it is part of a whole series of these little books in the Basic Essential Library. ...

I am not good in math. Any kind of math. But this book has helped me get a understanding behind the concepts I willneed to know and help with the basic problems that are going to come up while managing your plant.
