My children and there friends love theses books. Everytime they pick one up they always see something new. It is fun for them on their own and with us also.

This is an entertaining workbook that teaches a child to focus, remember and identify items on colorful pages. The story is very entertaining and the skills developed here will lead to good study habits and strong attention to detail. My 6-year old and I laughed and had such fun as he found the items and solved the puzzles. Excellent busy work for a trip!

On the surface, this book describes the journey of 9-year-old Joanne battling the terrible disease leukemia and the agony of her loving family.

What makes this book unique and special is the surprising, cheerful, and miraculous voice message: "See Daddy! That's the new kite." nine months after her passing into eternity in 2003. This miracle mended my shattered faith with a renewed spirit. John Cox is, and has always been, a phenomenal reporter and writer. This book deserves to be widely read. As a work of history, it is very much welcome -- a book that sheds light on the past of a subject which is, too often, shrouded in myth.

For a meteorologist, this is clearly a must read if you're at all interested in knowing more about some of the most influential people in our field. The author obviously has done considerable homework and made some of the pioneers in this field come alive, instead of just being names and old b&w photographs. Since the book is unprecedented and I didn't know many of these people personally, it's not possible for me to say how accurate these word descriptions are, but they have the "ring of truth" to me. Some very interesting parallels can be drawn from the past to the present with the information in this terrific book!

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to read or would like to know what it is like to love to read. Every page you develop a great love for the characters that are being introduced. The story comes alive in your head as you see yourself in the situations that Kate faces. I look forward to any other books by this author.

I loved this book because every page was interesting and the story kept a fast pace.I immediately cared deeply about the characters and they made me laugh and cry. I enjoyed the way the character Kite intimately described what it was like to be a young teenage girl in the sixties. She brings back memories to older readers and is able to provoke conversations between parents and teens today on what life was like when people had different attitudes about topics like race and feminism. Remember when girls had to wear dresses to school and couldn't take photography classes or other 'boy's' classes? And, boys couldn't take homemaking? Civil rights had been brought to the attention of the nation but pockets of bigotry were still tolerated. These and other important issues are seen through the eyes of a beautiful young girl who is growing into a woman in a changing world. Boys are being sent to Vietnam and many are not coming home. Men are landing on the moon while black people are still considered second-class citizens. Kite, a white girl who has never known segregation before moving to a small Texas town, holds your attention as these things are happening and she worries about less complex issues such as her first kiss. It is easy to cheer for Kite as she comes of age and realizes there are more important things going on than her personal desires.

This confessional book for kids is the best!!! This book shows kids how God works in their life, and what they can do to show God's love to others. My kids are only 5,3, and 1, so they don't know how to read yet. I read the book to them and I have my older kids repeat it back. Its great family time, plus I get the added benefit of learning so much myself. The Scriptures and the confessions are powerful. The confessions are put in a language level that kids understand. The book itself is a nice hardback book. The back of my book says it is for kids 4 and up, though my 3 year old likes it. I would highly recommend this book for your own children as well as for baby gifts. I personally am going to start giving this book for baby shower, Christmas, and birthday gifts. This book will not only give knowledge of God to kids but also start a relationship between God and kids. Kids can really get to know who God is and about HIS LOVE. Truely empowering.

Since Alberto Blanco and Rodolfo Morales are so popular I feel almost sacrilegious saying this was not my favorite book, but it is a good one. It deserves more than a 4, but maybe not a 5. Why? Because the text is wordy and would lose most kids I know. And the art is not my type of art, but art is so personal. The story is about Angel who is sad that his town's church bell has disappeared, and how he gets it back for the people. This is a book worth buying, especially as a bilingual one for teaching both languages.

These books have the best illustrations, simple yet very well done almost like watercolor paintings. They have very simple story lines and then they sum it up at the end. My 1 1/2 year old loves them!!

This book uses less than twenty five words, including colors. Each page is colorfully illustrated to reinforce the sentences. For beginning literacy, this is a great book to get through. Readers will have a real sense of accomplishment when they reach the end of the book with a rainbow of kites.

What an adorable book this is! We just couldn't stop laughing here in our house. The story depicts the cubs trying to win a kite flying contest in which they also have to make the kite that they enter. Well, Papa thinks that he's the best kite maker around so he makes the cubs a huge kite. Since it is so big, they can't get it off the ground so he has Mama get the car to launch it with his fishing pole. Well, Papa forgets to let go of the kite and is soon airborne along with the kite. They wind up missing the kite competition but instead, Papa wins the stuntman award for wind surfing. Pretty funny stuff - we laughed all the way through it. Highly recommend!

Eujin Kim Neilan illustrates this classic Korean folk story of a grandfather who follows the old customs and practices the ancient art of kite-making. He tries to show his reluctant grandson how to make a kite, but Jinho is more interested in video games or skateboards - still, he participates. But will he await the arrival of the `best winds' to fly it?
