Lukewarm Christians beware... this one lays it on the line. Real stories from the life of Denny Nissley, hell-raiser turned fireball street preacher by the power of God. Plenty of good stories here. Right from the start, you figure out this is no ordinary Christian. Example: While in Bible school, sneaking out at night to face great danger on the streets of Dallas, talking to people about Jesus. Tons of great stories -- Mardi Gras, spring breaks in Florida, preaching in a Colorado restaurant and others -- will have you ready to bust out.
Unbelievable True Stories!

Fear No Evil - is actually 191 pages, and includes pictures. It's not an ordinary biography because Denny Nissley is not an ordinary evangelist! I guarantee, you will hardly want to put the book down because first of all, you won't believe the amazing adventures Denny Nissley has had, and secondly, you can't even begin to image what's going to happen next! Each chapter stands on its own, the whole book is a quick read. His stories are well told, humorous and fun to read. For Christians who want to win souls for Christ, this book is a must! Truly inspirational! I'm definitely a fan of both the book and Nissley's ministry, Christ in Action. I knew it was a winner when I heard people talking about the book and everyone agreed - THEY couldn't put it down either!

The book "Fighting For G.O.D. (Gold, Oil and Drugs)" written by Jeremy
Begin, and illustrated by Lauren Salk, addresses many very important
aspects of what it means to be an American today. This book is an
excellent read, and quite a bargain at $9.95 US. It is not everyday
that one gets valuable information like this served up in such a
concise and entertaining manner.
Published on heavy paper in an illustrated magazine format, Fighting
For G.O.D. (Gold, Oil and Drugs) resembles some of the nicer specialty
comics on the market, although what is contained within is not in the
least bit comical. If this book was to be compared to any of the
comic book genre I would classify it loosely within the horror realm,
and it is even more horrible because it is true!
Fighting For G.O.D. (Gold, Oil and Drugs) does an excellent job of
illustrating why and how Americans have departed from a government by
and for the people. It is actually an abbreviated history,
highlighting the ultra-pertinent, yet secret history of our country.
This abbreviated and easily absorbed form is truly one of the strong
points of the book, because it quickly illuminates patterns that have
been intentionally smeared over, buried, by the enemies of America and
their agents, for many years.
In a nutshell, "Fighting For G.O.D. (Gold, Oil and Drugs)" written by
Jeremy Begin, and illustrated by Lauren Salk, explains in no
uncertain terms exactly how America has gotten to this police state of
judicial decadence and economic debauchery. I assure you this: it was
no accident.
Many astute observers have known about a secret cabal within the
United States government for quite some time now, along with its
origins, and how it infiltrated our government. Until recently though,
this cabal of traitors had preferred to pull strings and manipulate
our laws from behind the scenes. That changed radically on September
11th, 2001, and it was the event known as 911 which brought Americas
secret history to the fore, largely due to the numerous
implausibilities manifest prior to, during, and after the event.
In other words, a lot of people started asking questions, because the
official explanations just did not make any sense.
Fighting For G.O.D. is an excellent distillation of answers to those
questions, a compilation of factual happenings that led up to 911,
beginning with the history of banking, and running through the event
itself, into the subsequent surveillance state which has resulted from
it.
Mr. Begin does a wonderful job of stitching seemingly unrelated events
into their proper order, and he does this repeatedly. That is a major
cornerstone of this book in fact. By reading this short, informative,
and well illustrated accounting, even the casual reader can see that
things are not as they should be, here in what used to be the land of
the free.

Fate or the hand of God?

A few years back, my wife Leah and I decided to swing by a ranch I once managed for my father. The ranch is located in a remote part of West Texas between the tiny town of Bakersfield and McCamey. We turned right at Bakersfield after exiting I-10 and began driving north.
A few miles up the road, I saw a large object in the distance on the left hand side of the road. As we neared the object grew in size and I noticed it was moving. Barely moving, but moving.
I pulled over when I realized that the object was human; in fact there were two humans. It's quite uncommon to see hitchhikers on this desolate stretch of highway. There's very little traffic and the country is so harsh and forbidding that a person on foot faces the very real risk of losing his life to the elements. Paul Speir stands six and a half feet tall and weighs closer to four hundred pounds than three. He had a huge backpack and sleeping gear on his back; alongside stood a young man about a third his size. Both grinned. They obviously were out of place in the Bakersfield Valley of Texas.
Fate placed us on that road at the same time. Paul told me he was a writer on a spiritual quest. I confessed that I too write and had written a book about farming and dope smuggling set in that area. As it turned out, Paul was at that very moment trying to break an addiction to marijuana.
Paul's well-written and heart-felt depiction of his trip made me laugh, but also taught me a thing or two about life from his unique perspective. We live in a time when the young teach the old. When I read how Paul arrived at that spot in the road at the same moment I did, I realized that it was more than fate that put us there; we had been moved by the hand of God.
Allow me to introduce the writer, Paul Speir. This book may be his first, but it won't be his last.

Your desires can lead you to either the road of destruction or the road to a meaningful life. A desire for the wrong thing can ultimately bring you to a life of despair. One must first have the desires for a positive life and then let them prevail over any other desires. As a young man, Paul Michael Speir had struggled between opposite forces of desires as he dealt with drug addiction; even as he fell victim to negative desires, somewhere deep inside of him desired for a good and meaningful life, and in the end, his desires for positivity fired, leading him to achieving the good. Finding Pecos is his spiritual journey from an addict to a wise man whose heart has embraced God and the treasures He has to offer. Finding Pecos is much more than a memoir, it's a journey down a promising but rugged road of a young heart whose only quest was true happiness; it's about making mistakes and learning from them, of finding the value of life and listening to one's heart. Do not be fooled by the author's easy-to-read writing style; hidden behind the simplicity are words of wisdom to gently but firmly empower other souls to find the positive and the beautiful in life just as he has. The road to the good may be the harder of the two on which to travel, but it is the only road where the traveler can reap gold. Recommended for anyone who wants a gentle hand to lead them down their own road to a spiritual transformation.

The book grabbed me within a heartbeat. It was well written with much visual effects and sensory overloads. One felt as though they were actually becoming a Shaman. It made perfect sense and when he was scared I was scared. When things came together for him, it did for me too. Highly recommended, although it's out of print. Try to obtain it anyway you can.

After reading this story and listening to her advice , I know that she has battled some dark demons. This tale of terror is not only fascinating but to know that while you are reading this that these are actual accounts of this womens life is something to hold dear. Her life and her recovery are obvious the most important thing to this author and I give praises to her for seeing it through.

Hey you...Its your other daughter here. I am amazed by your book. I layed in my bed at 9:30, and read until 1AM. It seemed like one really long email. I couldnt put it down!! It is differnt for me becuase I know you personally, but I think everyone should read this book. Not only people who are currently addicted to drugs, but everyone. I have learned my lesson through your mistakes. I am young enough right now to make the right decisions, and I know that reading your book pushed me, and will keep pushing me in the right direction. Again and again you keep telling me...if you have to think about it for too long, you probably shouldn't do it...that is something that I Will ALWAYS keep in the back of my mind. I would have NEVER guessed your past even if you gave me all the money in the world. You are such an amazing person now, and you know I love you to death. You're practically my second mother! I honestly feel a very stong bond between us, and I am so blessed to have you in my life. I think about you everyday, and I take every piece of advise you give me to heart. There will never be a time where I wont be honest with you, and you definately know that by now. Your book did shock me, but knowing your past shows me all that you have accomplished. You really got me thinking about things, and I know thats a good thing. Just like Jeremy said..."I'm not as stupid as you were". Thats exactly how I feel. I hope you know that I wouldn't "try" the drugs you did because they are so addictive, and why harm my body? You are such an amazing person, and I BETTER have you in my life until you get tired of me and my ongoing conversations and questions!!! Thank you for being there for me, I love you!

The book demonstrates that anyone can fall victim to addiction.
The book really puts you alongside the victim and the pain of what she went through. At the end of the story, you realize the power of what God can do, and as long as you have faith, you can overcome an addiction and help others!

This is one of the best books I have ever read (and I have read many)! It is very well written and easy to read. It is a heart-wrenching story of a young woman's travels through a very adventurous life that led her to, through and out of addiction. And since we all have some kind of addiction we can all benefit from her story. It will change your perspective. Thank you Ms. Wyatt for sharing your story. May you continue to be richly blessed.

I wrote this book with practitioners in mind. After many unsuccessful years of looking for a text that covered the substance abuse field in a way that reflected real-world practice, I came up with this text. I provide a mix of theory and practice skills, giving readers someting to sink their teeth into, regardless of level or experience. I focused mostly on four important issues: successful client engagement based in the strengths perspective, understanding client culture, multisystemic assessment and treatment planning, and co-occurring disorders. I provide a critique of the disease model and other theories/moedls while encouraging practitioners to match treatment model/theory to the needs and experiences of clients.

This classic work has gained new significance with the release of the recommendations of the Jamaican Ganja Commission in August 2001. Rubin and Comitas give a chronology of cannabis usage and legislation, followed by a thorough study of how cannabis is used in rural communities, primarily by poorer sections of the population. They found little evidence of harmful effects as they described the informal social controls and customs that regulated its use more effectively than punitive laws ever could. A must read for everyone seeking a thorough understanding of cannabis and how best to control its use.

Accessible Primer on Patents & Exclusivity in the Pharma Industry

As a consultant in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, I found this reading to be pleasantly illuminating and gently absorbing (took only 2 leisurely days to read). Although having some exposure to law school pedagogy and lingo myself, Mr. Voet explains the legal underpinnings of patent law with a simplistic and logical exposition interlaced with sufficient detail, precision and nuance (as is expected in any effective discussion on law). He begins his tour from the basic definition of a patent, and guides the reader through important matters like patent claims, interference, "doctrine of equivalents", and some noteworthy legal precedents that guide current interpretations of patent law (for example, how the Merck v. Integra decision provides "safe harbor exemption" for infringements that pertain to preclinical and clinical research pursuant to FDA submission). Not lost in Voet's description is the distinctive legal environments and dynamics in other key pharmaceutical markets like the E.U., Canada and Japan, and those variations are aptly examined. While there is indeed a distinction between patent rights and market exclusivities, Voet describes the interplay between the two in the ever critical task of product life-cycle management. His own pharma industry experience enriches his exposition by revealing industry-specific patterns (like the propensity for innovator companies to file broad drug compound patents and padding with narrow patents on formulation, new indications, etc.), and walking through illustrative examples and case studies (like Syntex's life-cycle strategy on Acular 0.5% against generic threats by the notorious Apotex). Despite the admittedly dynamic nature of patent law and market exclusivities, Voet's material is refreshingly up-to-date (referring to events/considerations as recent as 2007-08). Key takeaways are neatly summed up at the end of each chapter, and an exhaustive glossary is available to keep the reader reminded of key terminology. Overall, an easy and necessary read for anyone wanting to delve in the complex arena of pharmaceutical product life-cycle management.
Required reading for anyone in the biotech/pharma industry

This book is all about exclusivity: how the patent and FDA laws interact to give only one biotech or pharma company the exclusive rights to sell a drug. Exclusivity matters more than just about anything else in the drug industry - there's safety, efficacy, and exclusivity, in that order - yet I can't think of a single book which addresses the subject the author does here. Every executive in the biotech/pharma industry should be required to read it; anyone wanting to understand the patent system and how the industry uses it should read this book, as well. The author writes clearly and engagingly, and makes the most complicated subjects interesting and easy to understand. I consulted the first edition regularly in my work in biotech, and look forward to using this revised edition, as well, which has many more examples and illustrations.

Tom and Sparrow, his lover, are part of the punk music scene in present-day Gainesville, Florida. Sparrow is part of a band that has a gig at Dave-O's, the local punk music club. Earlier that day, they score some LSD, that was not meant for them, from Galactic Bill, the local drug source.
Meantime, near Atlanta, Georgia, a young woman named Hanna wakes up in a suburban house next to a fat, hairy guy. She has no memory of who she is or how she got there, except for flashbacks of having served in the Vietnam War, even though she is nowhere near old enough to have served. Hanna gets in a car and heads south, not knowing where she is going. Along the way, she meets The General, an older man in uniform who certainly remembers Hanna.
When they reach Gainesville, Hanna realizes that The General is some sort of alien whose task is to absorb certain people, and thereby become part of Jovah. She realizes this after seeing The General swallow Galactic Bill whole, like a snake eating a rat. Back at the punk club, the LSD begins to have an effect, and suddenly, everyone at the club is flying, as long as the music keeps playing. When a malfunctioning amp stops the music, gravity takes over, violently. While in the air, Tom, Sparrow and their friends watch as a giant mechanical dragon lays waste to Gainesville, like a modern-day Godzilla movie. They can't help but think that this is the ultimate drug trip, but this is reality (that's the magic word). They meet Hanna and The General, who must absorb Hanna to become "whole."
This book does a fine job at messing with conceptions of reality. One can almost hear the punk music in the background. This one is really strange and really good.
