Stickers Books

My 3 year old and her 7 year old cousin both loved this book. It kept them entertained for hours. The downside was once the outfits had been put on the doll it was hard to preserve them.

The stickers are fun to use and an easy way of adding a bit more something to personal notes. The disadvantage to them are some are difficult to get out of the book without tearing.

16 "full color" stickers printed with photo images of Sargent paintings, four to each of four tiny, 4 1/16" by 5 1/2 " plates. Miniscule, little more than postage stamp size images. Said to be not simply in color, but "full-color". Color, yes, excellent color no. From Dover I have three tiny publications: this "Sargent 16 Art Stickers", "Sargent Notebook" and "Six Women's Portrait Cards". Each of the three includes "Lady Agnew of Lochnaw" and the color in each is quite different. At most one could possibly be accurate. But what a piss-ant quibble when the price is so low; the color is decent unto the purpose.
Some of your favorites are included, certainly some of mine. Oddly, not the original but rather the copy of Madame X that Sargent never quite finished. All images roughly equal in size and almost too small to begin to comprehend. But still quite charming. A lovely anachronism if you were to seal the envelope before posting a letter.
But who writes letters anymore, much less seals them. I suppose I bought the booklet simply because I was curious about anything "Sargent". So they sit in a dark desk drawer in that shabby shoe box holding my postage stamps. You know, that cardboard box with all of the odd and obsolete postage? Maybe a packet of 17 cent "Via Air Mails" boasting an image of a surplus Jenny biplane for your rush communication, jobs too large for the telegraph. Maybe a Pan Am Clipper?
Shucks, I think I'm going to use these stickers. Imagine how surprised my few friends will be to receive a letter, written, not typed (not computer printed) in a real envelope with an actual seal. And not just those free seals from the SPCA or the American Red Cross... No, a SARGENT STICKER. I'm going to do it. Tomorrow. First I have to think of something to write that I can't just say on the cell phone or in email.

There are 16 stickers in this book. Each one is a realistic color drawing of a creature found in the sea. For example: a whale, a squid, a shark, a turtle, a penguin, a starfish, a seal, a walrus, etc. Each sticker is numbered, and the numbers correspond to a key in the back of the book.

However, the cover, the majority of the index page, and the key in the back are all written in oriental characters. I'd like to be able to pass along more information then that, but I don't know enough about non-Arabic characters to say whether they're Japanese or Chinese (and, in fact, would not be surprised if someone were to inform me that they were something else entirely).

The stickers themselves are fun and clearly drawn, so I'm not dissapointed!

I love the little polar bear books by Hans de Beer. This is a book based on that series, and like most books "based" on a series, it doesn't quite equal the orginal. It's not bad, just not done by de Beer. It's a cute sticker book and if your child loves polar bears, it'll be do the trick.

My 19-month-old loves this book. We read it over and over and over again, and honestly, Mommy & Daddy could use a little break from this fine book. We got this as a gift way back when our son was an infant and tried introducing it when he was around 9-months-old. Didn't work, as all he wanted to do was tear at the pages. Seeing as how they're really high-quality pages, we put it away till last week, and now he just loves it. Pours over it quite often. He loves to point at the firemen sliding down the pole and at the things that the firemen have saved from the fire. It's very engaging for a young toddler; I highly recommend it.

My two year-old loves Shrek. Loves. Him. We got this storybook for her, and it recreates almost word-for-word a portion of "Shrek 2." She loved the book. Loved. It. But the book is unfortunately clearly designed for older children who understand that ripping pages in a book make it unreadable. And so, a few months after purchasing the book -- after all the stickers had been peeled, stuck and forgotten -- in a fit of passionate love for Shrek (I'd like to believe), she tore the book apart, and we were forced to promptly deliver it to its new home: the garbage can.

Incidentally, I'd still get it again for her, as until said unfortunate shredding occurred, it was one of her well-worn favorites, just long enough to hold her interest but not so long that she tired of it quickly.

I purchased 2 for two households of grandchildren. These came a little later than the others ordered. I was not able to send it off to the second household. I had to use something locally. So that was a disappointment. All the other purchases came on time. The product came in good shape. The grandchildren who received them at Christmas loved them.

Frosty the Snowman is a book about a bunch of kids, winter, and a magic hat. If you already didn't know. The book takes you trough their adventure they have with frosty. Frosty takes the kids all over the city. I would say this book could be read by any age group. As long as you have a sense of imagination.

This book has lots of stickers and each sticker has a spot in the pages in the book. An older child would probably enjoy the hunt and seek aspect of this book, but my 2yr old just loves SpongeBob and likes taking the stickers off. They come off the floors and walls easily too, bonus!
