Stickers Books

My family has enjoyed listening to the Harry Potter audio books for several years. Jim Dale's readings include a host of characters with remarkably distinctive voices that carry over from the first book, the Sorcerer's Stone, to the last. He reads with fabulous energy and makes these great stories come to life like nothing I've ever heard before.
The Prisoner of Azkaban is no exception. This audiobook is a fabulous way to enjoy several afternoon in the car or in your favorite chair at home.

As for the book, ahem....
In short, it's brilliant.
All the action and drama of the first two with twists and turns that made it almost impossible to put down.
The Prisoner of Azkaban further advanced the series with slightly more mature themes and an absolutely haunting atmosphere.
This book solidified the series as a force to be reckoned with.
Same as the previous two, highly recommended.

Like the first two Harry Potter books this book is great, it is in this book that parents should beware; it starts to have a few more moments that might scare the younger reader, it takes on a darker side as Harry ages and Voldemort begins to gain his power back, Definately makes you want to continue to read the complete set, this is my second time thru the books and I never tire of reading them. Great Reading for all ages

It's a great story, with much more detail and interest than the movie that was based on it. Jim Dale's performance is excellent and really brings life to the characters.

I took off one star because one of the disks was scratched & Amazon cowered behind their policy that they would not allow an exchange of an audio product that was opened.

Both my kids loved this book from a very young age. The touchy feely aspect really draws the attention of little ones. And all in all the books are quite durable. Mine have been well loved by our two, and are now heading to our baby cousins. The farm and baby animals were my childrens favorites.

This was my daughter's first board book and the first book she took an interest in. She loved the photographs of the animals, as opposed to drawn illustrations. The book includes a variety of textures and recognizable farm animals.

My 2 year old enjoys this set a lot. She loves touching the furry parts of the cards and they are super sturdy (cardboard). There are about 5 cards that are way to hard for her limited vocabulary so we make up the names, other than that they are great!

The book is sturdy,cute and of good quality, but my toddler was not impressed. I thought she would like the book better then she did.

Whenever we go out to eat, we are sure to take this book along. It keeps my little boy (11 months) entertained while we wait for our food, and works like a charm. There is nothing better when he is screaming his head off than to pull out this book and presto, instant smile. He touches and feels and tries so hard to say baa at the sheep at bark at the dog. It is well worth the money. And so far it has held up remarkably well (even though there is rice in the dogs fur and cheese on the lambs wool).

Much better organized that My Big Sticker Work Book! Makes a great gift for a new big sister or big brother... makes them feel special to receive the gift and keeps them busy while mom and dad tend to baby. (Also good for pregnant moms who just want to lay down but still play with their kids!). I keep one of the thinner versions in the diaper bag just for trips to the doctor... keeps them busy and away from waiting room toys (gag).

I have bought three of these types of books for my son in the past few months. This one has been the biggest hit and occupied nearly 2 1/2 hours on a flight recently.

This sticker book is very well organized (i.e., colors, shapes, numbers, categories) and not too difficult for a toddler to enjoy. Although a toddler won't get as much benefit from the learning aspect right now (there are many opportunities in this book), they will be entertained for hours putting on the stickers. Mom and Dad do have to help though. After I realized how wonderful this sticker book is, I gave it to several of my friends who have young ones. I will probably purchase the same book again (later on) so my child can learn from all the fun challenges presented inside.

This sticker book is wonderful for toddlers to help with shape recognition of various living things and items common to children, numbers, and letters. I like to bring this sticker book with me to restaurants while we're waiting for our food and also on long car and plane trips to occupy my two boys ages 2 and 3 1/2. I've bought a few extra to have on hand for birthdays for toddlers since it's such a great sticker book!

My grandson is 3 years old and loves stickers almost as much as he loves to play with his trucks. This book has such a variety of subjects for kids to learn about while they are using this book. He wasn't too interested in trying the activiities as he was too busy placing stickers. Great fun for small children!

does your child have an obsession for backhoes, fire trucks and other large equipment? this is your answer. simple text and large photos. the dk series delivers.

We actually had to purchase this book to replace the library copy, which my 18-month-old daughter loved so much she didn't put it down for weeks and somehow reduced it to pieces (and that's hard to do with a board book!).

Well, my son loves the book and doesn't seem to miss the stickers, but I am bummed that the book came without the stickers.

My grandson loves this book. It's smaller than his other 'board' book, but he loves to look at the big equipment, being especially fond of the ones like his father and grandfather operate. Excellent pictures and easy to turn pages.

I bought this book for my son, who loves a truck book at his day care. When I gave him this book, he got a HUGE smile on his face and immediately wanted to read the book. It was the first book he ran to when he got home from day care, until we decided to put it in his crib with him, in an attempt to get him to stay in bed a little later each morning (he's a VERY early riser...) It worked! We can hear him in his room "reading" out loud and talking to the trucks in this book. He absolutely loves it and therefore we do, too!

This is one of the books, that I've been looking for, everywhere, and when I found it at amazon, I didn't waste any time, in buying it.
The afghan patterns are all great, and worded so that we can understand them.

This book has a wide variety of patterns that are easy to follow and easy to make.

This crochet pattern book includes a wonderful variety of great patterns. Just purusing this book makes you want to crochet up every pattern inside...

This book has more beautiful patterns all in one book. Usually when you buy a book, it may have one or two patterns that spark interest, but I have never seen this quantity of unique patterns. I would recommend it to anyone who loves to create because these are truly creations.

This is the fourth "Afghans for All Seasons" book Leisure Arts has put out, and it is my favorite. I've made 4 blankets from it for gifts, and there are still others I want to do! The directions are easy to follow, using the usual abbreviations in all Leisure Arts books.

I love the wide variety in all the "seasons" books compared to other Leisure Arts books. From my sister in Houston to my brother in Detroit, I can find a pattern suitable for any climate, age, gender, etc. I must confess I chose different colors for each blanket than the book has (to match decor) but that was easy to do.

I also love the wide variety of sizes, complexity, and speed. I was able to make a large afghan for my tall brother very quickly because the pattern used two threads together. Another smaller baby pattern was perfect for my friend's new nursery. One pattern that they showed in a solid color was easy to convert to two colors. Still another I made for my mother was an easy, repetitive pattern, so I was able to take the blanket anywhere to work on without bringing along the book (much easier to just sit and chat without stopping to check the book directions!)

If you want to get just one book with a wide diversity of GOOD patterns, this or another of the "seasons" series is what I recommend.

Our young son loves this story and wants to hear it over and over again. The pictures are cute and it's an all around great book.

Sturdy construction even for a teething baby...

I just love ALL the books in this series. My children just loved them when they were little, and if you've ever had babies you know how valuable a good book is -- you get to sit down for a while! They were fun for me to read and really fun for them to explore. In fact, I've already packed them away in their hope chests for when they grow up and have children.
Now, whenver I know anyone who has had a baby, these books (as many as I can find) are my gift.

I got this book as a hand-me-down from a friend, whose 4-year-old and 2-year-old boys had failed to destroy it. That alone says a lot about the durability of this book, and its tactile pieces. My son, who is 16 months, loves this book. He likes to touch all the different tactile pieces: the furry puppy chest (my son's favorite), the silky dog ears, the fuzzy slipper, the rubber ball (my least favorite), and the leathery puppy noses (my favorite). The pictures are adorable. There aren't many words per page, so the book might lose its appeal for older, more experienced readers. But it's great for younger kids (under 4).

My toddler loves any Touch and Feel book-he got his first for Easter last year and I think there's only 4 or 5 we don't have yet. They're sturdy and a great size for toddlers to read, we even throw a couple in the diaper bag when we're out. They're short enough to keep a toddler's attention and filled with bright photographs of familiar things and simple, easy to read concepts. Although as some people have mentioned on this or other books reviewed, they do have some repititous textures and ideas, but I think that most toddlers won't care about that-mine doesn't anyway-he loves them.
He loves "doggies" in general, so really enjoys this one a lot. He really likes the fluffy tummy, silky ear, and leathery noses, but enjoys the whole book. He loves any of them with animals, but this Puppy one is a favorite. I'd recommend this or most any other of the Touch and Feel series, especially if your toddler loves this kind of hands on reading experience like mine does!

My 3 year old LOVES this book. It has over 400 fun, reuseable stickers! They are bright, colorful pictures. I love how it is arranged by letter, then size, color, etc. Great, fun teaching tool.

My two year old daughter received this as a birthday present and she just loves finding the missing stickers. It's a great mommy/daughter time book. If I let her on her own the stickers end up on everything BUT the book. So we do the activities together. It's great for learning and spending quality time together. The stickers are reusable (to a certain extent). I'm actually ordering more versions of the "My Big Book of Stickers" collection since she liked the first one so much. I ordered the Nursery Rhymes one today. Can't wait to get it. I think Mommy enjoys playing with it as much as my little one.

I got this book for my three year old son and he absolutely loves looking at it. The stickers are pretty and the colors are so bright and vibrant.

I bought this for my 3 year old, who exhausted the Priddy sticker books. This book had a lot more interaction involved, asking questions to reinforce numbers, shapes, colors, and more cognitive thinking. The interaction is not overly involved such that it was fun for both parent and child, although it can easily be an activity that a child alone can do herself. I think the stickers in this book, although many are the same as in Priddy's books, were more fun to look at.

I bought this book for my 3 year old and he loved it. This book is educational with bright, fun stickers. The stickers are easy to remove and easy to place. My 3 year old had a great time with this book. It's one of his favorites. I would recommend "My Big Book of Action Stickers" by HB as well. That was my son's first sticker book and it's still his favorite. Both are great books!

I was about to get rid of the book because I have not used it and stopped. beautiful pictures everywhere. Full descriptions. Not too weird. Good idea's.

Toulouse Sausages: Take bacon, run it through the food processor, add a few spices, stuff it in a casing, price with toothpicks and grill it? Looking at the big picture of Toulouse Sausage on the grill I decide to try it someday. Grilled Bacon Sausages. I bet this would go with char-grilled pineapple with sweet rum glaze. Bacon and rum glazed pineapple. Roasted Garlic Atoli (roasted garlic, mayonnaise from scratch and a bit of salt & pepper)

I have the hardcover book and decided it is worth keeping. The book is worth a second look.

This is a truly terrific cookbook, specifically about grilling. Excellent recipes, instructions, photographs.

This is a great cookbook for outdoor or indoor grilling. Special attention paid to sauces and prep, tells you how to do it. Graet book

Have tried half of the receipes. Not a bad one yet. In fact, most have been very good! Sauces, marinades, and seasoned/flavored butters are particularly good.

Eric Treuille and Birgit Erath have created an entire world of globally inspired recipes for the grill. Birgit loves to travel and owns a spice store with over 1,800 culinary flavorings called The Spice Shop. Eric is a favorite author who started cooking in his uncle's boulangerie in France. Together they have created a feast for the eyes and a sense of nostalgia for cooking outdoors.

After going through a number of gas grills, I think I'm going back to charcoal for a while because cooking over charcoal seems to be much more of an art form. The authors give instructions for making a fire and checking the temperature of the coals.

An entire section is dedicated to spices and you might want to look for some smoked paprika or Pomegranate molasses. While most of the recipes use ingredients you may already have in your kitchen, there are some more exotic ideas. Annatto seeds are used in the achiote seasoning and this in turn is used in the Recado Rojo - a honey marinade for pork chops, shrimp or chicken. You are truly creating recipes from scratch and you can make up seasoning mixtures from the spices you already own.

As with most of these DK Eyewitness guides - they are great for kids and adults. Very informative and surprisingly detailed. We purchased this to accompany our viewing of the Tutenkahmen exhibit. It worked great! My son has become an Egyptology enthusiast.

This is the Ultimate Ancient Egyptian sticker book. Besides being colorful and interesting, the stickers and various forms and shapes explain how they were used in Ancient Egypt and are historically correct. It is a useful learning book for any child or adult interested in ancient Egypt history and well worth the price.

I got this book because my 5-year old wanted to learn more about the ancyent Egypt. The images are pretty cool, but the information and contains are randomly written (maybe this is good for older kids that already know some about the ancient Egypt culture). However, you could get a better introductory book for 10 bucks more.

The sticker concept is a great idea. Although the stickers aren't brightly colored and glossy my two year old still jumps up and down with glee when I give him one.
Hey, kids love the simplest things and this is a great aid for a child going through the potty training process. Definitly recommended.

I bought this book for my boyfriend who had an "incident" recently. It was perhaps one of the funniest things I have ever seen, watching him open up the box. Oh man I would not trade it for anything!

This book was a big hit for my 2 year old. Stickers make it so much fun. He looked forward to going. We were going in all day trying to get the next sticker. We completed potty training in less than 4 days and I truly can thank the author of this book! You will not be disapointed. I even use it for my two year old neice and nephew when they are over, they look forward to using my potty! ;-)

This is wonderful! At first I thought, the stickers were kind of dull,but my son loves them. We are on our way to diaper free days & nights! (with the help of a few other books) This just helps out alot!!!!!!! It hangs in the bathroom for everyone to see!My son shows it to everyone!

I agree with others - the stickers could be of better quality but nevertheless they are cute. I believe using this book was key in our potty-training success story. My 4 year old had NO interest in training. We got this book and hung it on the wall by the potty so every time he successfully used the potty or even tried, he would pick out his own sticker and put it on the circle of his choice. It was part of the routine - go to the potty, put a sticker in the book and what child doesn't love stickers. Before the book was filled with stickers, we have dry days AND nights, no more training pants and no accidents in months. SUCCESS! And now I'm buying a SECOND book for my 2 year old son who is now showing signs of interest in training too! Here we go again!
