This is the cutest story with wonderful drawings that will spark a child's imagination. I must admit that I'm an adult and
I loved the touching story. The art will catch the eye of any little one. I highly recommend this for kids, grandkids....child

I teach second grade, and my kids loved it. The pictures are wonderful! The kids, and I loved Frank Fiorello's illustrations
of the cats all decked out for the Halloween Parade. The story was also very cute.

My son loves Clifford and he loves to read books. The CD chimes when it is time to turn the page and he follows right along
with it. Great entertainment for car rides or when I am not able to sit down and read to him. He will listen to it 6-8 times
in one sitting.

This charming and colorful book takes children from their often limited view of likes and dislikes and invites them to appreciate
the diversity and color in people and the world around them. Inviting children to see the beauty of difference, it stays
light in tone and simple in its refreshing look at what happens when one shucks off narrowmindedness and sees the world
through open eyes. A fun, fast read for early readers.

Pat Yamin's new book is a treasure for any quilter who wants to be able to make a quilt with minimal stress. She shows you
how to use one template to make a variety of beautiful quilts.
There are lots of color pictures that show traditional patterns made in todays colorful fabrics. Of course, the quilts would be lovely in more traditional fabrics, too. This is a great book for beginners. However, the more advanced quilter will be challenged, too. I can hardly wait to get started on some one-patch quilts of my own.

I was at the book release in Troy. The party had about a dozen of the contributing authors there to sign their chapters and
was a lot of fun with people buzzing around the room getting autographs.
I loved the book. I devoured the stories one after the other. Even though I heard it would make a great daily devotional, I couldn't put it down. I read it straight through, but I'm going to read it again because there was so much in it that I want to go back over.
The way each real life story was named with a relating quilt pattern was very interesting. Not only did I learn spiritual lessons from each chapter (and I was amazed there were stories from Australia, New Zealand, Germany, and all over the United States), but the history and connection of the quilt patterns was very creative and touching. I did laugh and cry over the different experiences the writers shared -- from a new father dealing with his baby boy's first diaper blow-out to the author's own story of being widowed at 32 years old with two small children. But even the tough stories were encouraging as they pointed me away from the situations and to the God of the situations.
Lori Wagner has a unique way with words and is very transparent. It's like she's sitting next to you and her warm personality comes across in her writing. I got several copies to give as gifts because I know this book will touch the hearts of my friends and family.

These little books have been well-used by our toddlers. They can't read yet, but they "pretend" to read with these little
paperbacks, and we read them together. Each of our two children have a set, and they constantly carrty them around in their
litle boxes with the handle. They simply love all products related to Miss Spider, and we are proud for them to be so interested
in such wholesome, family-oriented entertainment and learning tools.

For those who enjoy comfort food, this is a great book. There are so many great recipes, and I was pleased to see that there
were a varitey of soup recipes included, which I enjoy. I would suggest the jambalaya and the corn chowder- two of my favorites.
Enjoy!

THE RHUBARB PATCH: THE STORY OF THE MODERN BROOKLYN DODGERS is a real time-capsule collectable, dating from 1954, the year
before the Brooklyn Bums won their first and only World Series title. Red Barber was the Southern-born radio announcer for
the team, famous for a down-home good ol' boy delivery that made him a national celebrity. Barney Stein, the creator of Through
a Blue Lens: The Brooklyn Dodgers Photographs of Barney Stein, 1937-1957 was the team's photographer, a Russian-Jewish immigrant,
equally renowned for his amazing pictures.
That two such disparate men could come together to write an adoring book about The Boys of Summer, baseball's first integrated team, a Major League ballclub in the equally disparate small-town big city that was Brooklyn, is amazing. That they could do it so well, balancing Barber's raconteur's art with Stein's artist's eye is even more incredible.
The fact that this book was written at all, even before the Championship year, speaks well of the uniqueness of the team, a uniqueness that came out of the very asphalt streets surrounding their home, Ebbets Field, The Rhubarb Patch of the title.
It's a sure thing that no other baseball team has ever had the die-hard fanbase and the almost mystical connection to it's hometown that the Brooklyn Dodgers had (and still have, fifty years after their demise). Considering the team's move west to Los Angeles in 1958, it's telling that Barber and Stein write of the team's "unsettled future" despite the fact that the LA move was supposedly not in the cards as far back as 1954.
The stories in THE RHUBARB PATCH are wonderful and timeless and now legendary, but the legend only grew in the few years left to the Flatbush Flock after the book was written.
This is a tough book to find. Fortunately, my copy, a 1954 First Edition, is in great shape. If you are a baseball fan of the old school in the time when it was a game, and particularly if you are a Brooklyn Dodger fan, you MUST get a copy to enjoy and treasure.
