I bought this book because I like to collect new and vinatge Halloween decorations. I used the book while looking around Ebay for items. Comes in handy. Could use some more detail in describing items but still worth the money.

This book is a wonderful depiction of the vast varieties of Halloween collectables you may find. I find this reference book to be very accurate and also the items you see listed are items you may actually come across and want to purchase. Unlike some antiques reference books, this shows the actual item in question...not something similar that leaves you wondering about the true value.

A must have for every Halloween memorabilia collector.

If you collect Heathkit amateur radio equipment or just have an interest in Heathkit or just collect or have an interest in amateur radio history, this book is an absolute must. I had the pleasure of working at Heathkit in the Ham Radio department (although I think we were called something else) for 4 years (1977 to 1981) and that, plus my overall interest in ham radio and Heathkit (had my first Heathkit radio in 1959) has made this book an absolutely necessary reference book for me. The book is very well written, well produced, well organized and of high quality overall.

This book is great guide for the average collector. It is a must if you want to know the approximate value of the kits when NEW. This makes it much easier to set a price when shopping for used equipment.

The real Heathkit story in a nutshell!

Chuck Penson tells the entire Heathkit story in the first 30 pages without any unnecessary words. I read the entire company's story in about 2 hours and never yawned or lost interest. The print is a good size so most older readers won't any have trouble. He uses the next 7 pages for advice on how to buy used Heathkits and one page for Heathkit resource websites. He then dedicates the next 243 pages to all the Heathkit Amateur radio products plus a bunch of others. All the pictures are in B&W but they are extremely clear, not some rough copies of rough copies. He gives each product a clear concise description (some 2-3 pages long!) and includes most of the technical specifications. He includes the original cost of each item and the period of time that each item was available. He even shows many of the actual diagrams from the original Heathkit assembly manuals! That was a real trip down memory lane for someone like me who has built hundreds of Heathkits! The last pages of the book include the Heathkit "Master product index" listed first by model number, then by type. That is followed by "product references" which are ALL of the articles written in QST & CQ magazines that were related to Heathkit products. Here you can find "fixes" and modifications to almost all Heathkit products along with reviews by the magazines technical staff. Then there are tube charts showing every tube used in each product. Next, there is a chart of the timeline of each product (how long it was in production). The last 2 pages are of sales data and another QST online reference. Overall, for me, it was a wonderful trip down memory lane because I have built, owned & restored hundreds of Heathkits. I highly recommend this book to anyone who built or used Heathkit products when "Green was King".

A Must for Heathkit Lovers!

If you were a Heathkit builder during their heyday, you'll love this book! You can read it the way you used to read the Heathkit catalog--over and over. Each of the ham radio products has its own page, and the author Chuck Penson gives his opinion as to the rarity of each item (this is a matter of opinion in some cases) With Heathkits now fetching big money on Ebay and other places, this book can also help you to choose carefully before buying a vintage Heathkit. Penson writes in a light-hearted style that is fun to read. Enjoy!

It is a great guide with tips on how to get a baseball(get to the game early, etc.) I am glad that there is someone from New York who agrees with me about the kid who reached onto the field in Yankee stadium. Recommended for any baseball fans. END

My ten year old grandson is a baseball nut. His greatest dream is to snag a ball at a major league baseball game. I gave Zack Hample's HOW TO SNAG MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALLS to him and he can't wait for the season to start so that he can put into practice what this so smart book teaches him to do.

This book will put a major league baseball in your hands. I stumbled on some of the tips Zack explains in trying to get a ball myself. But Zack outlines many more - most common sense - but easy to overlook unless you have the single-minded devotion to major league baseball acquisition that characterizes Zack. This is a book for all little boys and girls, even those over ten (or forty) years of age, whose passion is to hold their own major league baseball.

Clearly THE book for the beginner and intermediate collector. It gives an excellent overview of each type of note (Nationals, Silver Certs, etc.) as well brief descriptions of each note within each type. A great way to learn the history associated with the engravings on U.S. paper currency from the Civil War (1861) to the present.

And, of course, the Friedberg numbering scheme is the standard method of referencing notes among collectors and dealers alike.

It should be noted however, that the values given for the notes are very rough approximations (very conservative). This is especially true for the UNC grade(MS60-64). There are no values for GEM notes (MS65+).

If you're looking for a comprehensive note reference with ball park values, this book is for you.

This is the standard reference work on United States Currency for the collector. While the prices given are pretty much obsolete in the volatile currency market, the Friedberg Numbering system is universally used by dealers and collectors alike. If you are considering participation in floor or online auctions, you cannot tell what you are bidding on without this book, as all notes will be listed by FR#. Well worth the investment!

Outstanding Guide & Catalog

Review Date: 1999-08-30
This book is a must-have for the serious US currency collector, along with the Standard Catalog, 17th edition. Together they provide a great catalog and price guide for US Treasury issues. There are good sections on fractionals and Confederate currency, and decent treatment of colonials. No obsoletes or military payment certificates. The black and white photos are quite a bit larger than those in the Standard Catalog. The color pictures in the back are a nice touch, but the printing is not the world's greatest -- many of the reds come out as pinks, the greens look almost fluorescent, etc.

There aren't many anecdotes or interesting bits of trivia, but as a guide and catalog it is top notch.

I had bought the Statehood Quarters book from this same company before, and was happy with it so I searched for one for the Presidential Dollars. I just wish that it had shown the inside of the book because I didn't know you have to have a dollar from each mint to fill the book. I do like how there is a plastic cover to go over the coins to protect them from fingerprints.

Pro Wrestling Collectibles is certainly what this book is all about. Its all the other stuff covered that makes this book so interesting. Overall, a very well researched book by Mr. Pope and Mr. Whebbe. This book does not cover all wrestling collectibles, that would be impossible, however, it does give the collector a good idea of the many areas in wrestling that are out there to collect, although they do have a very in-depth coverage of the action figures and autographs.

The book also covers some of the history of wrestling and is a great book for novices and long-time collectors. There are great photos of some of the older collectibles that I have only heard about. My favorite chapters were the ones on the action figures, trading cards and autographs, which make up a large part of my 15+ year collection.

The prices listed are average, however, the value of the items in this market change so rapidly, that its hard to give a set value on some items. 5 stars to Mr. Pope and Mr. Whebbe for tackling such a huge task.

What a wonderful guide for PY collectors. I am a Rooster and Roses collector and have searched for information on different pieces and their values, but to no avail until the PY/Miyao Fun Kitchen Collectibles Reference & Value Guide was published. I always wondered about the history of the pattern. The book even peeked my interest in the anthropomorphic line of PY. Belinda Euans not only captured my interest with the beautiful photos and the pricing guide, but answered all my questions regarding the origin of the pattern and history of the company. Kudos for a job well done. I recommend this book to anyone with any interest in the PY, UCAGCO, Early Provincial line.

The author of this latest collectible guide, Belinda Euans, did an outstanding job putting this book together. Collectibles are a work of art and knowing as much history as possible makes them even more special. I was delighted to find that this book not only contains beautiful, colorful pictures of these special, whimsical, and unique collectibles, it also includes a comprehensive section including the history of the Miyawo Company and distributors. I especially enjoyed the photographs of the Miyajima family, WWII, and the factory then and now. Ever wonder why so many ceramic items were produced after the war and how Japanese manufacturers and United States buyers conducted business? Answers to these questions and others can be found in this reference book.

This new, professional guide is very easy to follow. Pictured page after page are a wide variety of treasures from salt and pepper shakers, planters, teapots, wall pockets, vases, plates and more. It will likely keep a reader interested from start to finish and could even leave some collectors desiring more because it's so much fun to look at. I was amazed and surprised to see many items I never knew existed before. I believe many of them cannot be found in any other books on the market and are pictured here for the first time.

I feel collectors and admirers of ceramic kitchen collectibles will wish to add this reference and value guide to their library. I plan on purchasing multiple copies for Christmas presents. Thank you, Belinda, for your efforts and dedication in obtaining this information for interested fellow collectors.
