Excellent coverage of mathematics of finance for accounting, finance, and actuary students. A literate investor would enjoy reading it also. No math beyond high school algebra required, however it goes into more depth on time-value-of-money concepts than the typical finance or accounting textbook. Contains numerous solved problems.

The book is full of usefull information incorporated in an easy to use format. It gives a user friendly atmosphere to a complex subject. The information is also useful to the up and coming electrician ready to sit for his or her exam. The illustrations make it easy to relate to each issue.

I was introduce to this book becasue my Mom was ill and she is in her 90's. Trying to find somewhere for her to stay that is clean with people who care when your income and funds are limited is very hard. This book helps guide you through the processes you need to go through. How to prepare before something happens. Government funds that are available. Power of Attorney.

I am a banker and I give this book out to people when I hear they have a person in their family that is getting older and may need some assistance in the future. This is a good book for all babyboomers to read.

Suffice it to say that this masterpiece changed my life. If I were to pick one word to describe this book, it would be "stupendous". Unfortunately, I cannot pick just one word, so please accept "poetic", "innovative", "classic" and "intense" as well. If you are lucky enough to find a copy of Brazner and Gaylord's work, sell your home, car and children to buy it! It will change your life too!

Rimmer's text stands out among other medical billing introductory texts because of its emphasis on helping the student to understand and remember the material and because of its extra effort to help the student hit the ground running upon being hired. Each chapter, in addition to crystal clear material presentation, has key terms, objectives, terminology side-bar, summary, and review questions. The book also offers real life examples, a rich list of forms, case studies, glossary, index, and an Ingenix Encoder Pro CD for CPT, ICD-9, and HCPCS code lookup and reference software.

A great classroom text and an introductory book for anyone interested in the field of medical billing.

Complete, concise information on medical insurace plans, billing, coding, and reimbursement in an easy to read format. The numerous example forms and billing tips are excellent. The coding, claim form, and reimbursement chapters give more complete information than any other books I've reviewed.

This book strongly emphasizes the importance of teamwork in the medical office, and it covers current health care laws in easy to understand terms.

This is the only book in its field, the first edition was introduced in 1962. This completely rewritten fourth edition gives a comprehensive review of basis principles in insurance and disability medicine and whilst primarily written from a life insurance background, gives valuable information to all practising doctors who want a numerical basis for outcomes of diseases and disorders in their patients. Thus it follows Hipocrates basic tenants on the importance of expected outcomes in diseases. The book has been widely accepted in Medico-legal circles.

I don't understand why this is for sale on Amazon.com. I walked into a Social Security office recently and someone gave me a copy of the 2008 edition. This is an official U.S. government publication that comes from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The CMS Publication No. is 10050-38 and the number for Medicare information is 800-633-4227. (Michael O. Leavitt, credited as the author of this book, is the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.)

As for the quality of this handbook, it tries to explain the complexities of Medicare in simple language, but Medicare has become so convoluted that it would take a skilled professional to figure out which plan to enroll in. Original Medicare (Parts A and B) are inadequate in their coverage and the Medicare Advantage Plans offered by private insurers are full of loopholes and potential problems for a senior who becomes seriously ill. It would be impossible for this handbook -- or any other handbook -- to unravel this knot.

This book is the best book on basic personal finances and debt handling that I've ever read - and in my business as a CPA, JD, I've read more than a few. I have recommended to all my clients that they purchase this book or audiotape (the latter my preference). Everyone, no matter what their financial situation, can gain from this book.
