An Interesting Montage of Many Different Ideas Tied by Evolution

Paul Humber's book is an interesting collection of many different ideas woven together around the central theme that evolution is a religious idea. Mr. Humber documents how Darwinian Evolution was adopted and applied by both Hitler and Stalin to advance their evil ideas regarding human society through the dangerous concept of social darwinism. The book leaves you with the obvious conclusion that evolution has never contributed anything to the greater good of mankind or society. Humber also shows how this dangerous concept fails as a "scientific" concept. It is not a technical book and its easy to read style makes it enjoyable. I would recommend this book.

This is one of the great analytical books of Evolution. There are so many reasons why evolution doesn't add up and this book does an excellent job of summarizing many of them. Highly recommended!

Includes eye-opening correspondence

Evolution Exposed by Paul Humber is very different than most books on this subject. It is a very readable personal first person story about his activities in this area. He includes much material found nowhere else, including his eye-opening correspondence with Richard Dawkins (chapter 8) and other famous Darwinists. Humber stresses that, although many of those evolutionists he has corresponded with often resorted to vile name calling, such as calling him stupid, ignorant, closed minded, a liar and such, a Darwin Skeptic should never resort to this tactic. Humber gives several examples where he maintained his civility in the face of a barrage of invective from his critics. Only one chapter includes the traditional evidence for creationism, material usually covered in books on creationism, chapter 3. Humber includes much interesting material on the past effects of Darwinism on society, such as the works of Margaret Sanger. Humber even includes a section on Islam, showing that its teachings affirms a view of creation that is very similar to that taught by Christianity for the past 2,000 years. In the appendix, Humber includes his autobiography. In short, this work is a very readable collection of writings on Biblical creation and some of the scientific evidence for this world view. He often quotes his extensive correspondence with well known Darwinists, much of which makes very interesting reading.

The long history Paul Humber has had in presenting the creation/biblical position to a world wide group of evolutionists is quite interesting. The evolutionists really don't have any scientific answers to stand on.

Objective

This book is the most objective book on business ethics. It presents several ethical theories along with their strengths and weaknesses as an intro, and then it presents case studies relating to a plethora of business topics. These topics include accounting and many others left untouched by other authors, and the topics are current and are often taken from real-world cases. After each case study, a series of questions are posed--you are supposed to apply the theories here. This book does not tell you what is ethical, it presents different view points and allows the reader to decide for himself/herself.

The best one out there...

I am an ethics consultant and have a masters degree in ethics - and I have read a LOT of ethics books. In the three years since I came upon this text, I have found nothing to equal it. The 24 page introduction (which contains a brilliant explication of moral relativism) is worth the price. This book contains foundational articles that everyone should read, a solid collection of integrated cases, and touches on a wide and useful range of business ethics issues. It is a straightforward book, but it is not designed to be simple. It challenges the reader to think, something that many ethics books do not do. If you only own one book specific to business ethics, this should be it.

For those who are searching for a broader book on ethics in the professions (including non-business professions), I consider "Ethical Issues in Professional Life", by Joan C. Callahan to be the standard by which all others are measured.

Yates Family of Humber Bay: Author's Comments

I published 40 hard cover copies of "The Yates family of Humber Bay, 1908: Parkinson & Harwood" through College Bindery in Toronto. The book preserves much of the oral Canadian history of the family of Lawrence and Elizabeth Yates who came to the Humber Bay area of Toronto Canada from Darwen Lancashire England around 1908.
There is information about their circumstances and the related Harwood and Kedney relatives who also came over. It includes a reasonably complete list of the descendants of that Yates family up to 1984 along with a picture of that original Yates family and occasional pictures of some of their descendants.
The books were all sold to clan members, Library of Congress U.S.A., Mormon Library U.S.A.
and donated to selective libraries in Toronto Canada and Darwen Lancs. UK. -L.J.S. Yates in Canada

A fast moving narrative, interesting and full of twists of fate. Two young men take on the world in bygone times, when nations allowed such things. Riders of today will wonder at the challenge - but the same lure that drives cross-country cycling today is certainly in these pages.

Another publisher has a much better done edition of this book at roughly half this price. It's newly typeset rather than a facsimile and contains some additional material about their journey.

Amateurish, typos and grammatical errors, no content

Not at all worth the price, this huge disappointment has amateur effort written all over it. From its dark, grainy photos, to its total lack of substantial information, this book was a real let-down for me. Unfortunately this is the only book on Rootes Commercial Vehicles. Riddled with typos and grammatical errors, the bulk of the book is wasted on useless charts. Need I say more?
