I have found that the Arne Jacobsen- Compact Design Portfolio is an excellent introduction to the many accomplishments of
this legendary Danish Architect and Designer. This book features many of the products that he designed back in the 1950's
and 60's, most of which are still in production today. This book also includes many of his Architectural achievments such
as the SAS Royal Hotel, Copenhagen. I highly recommend it for anyone studying Design and Architecture. He was "The man" and
way ahead of his time.

How many books do you know of that are critical of the way economic globalization is going but that also glow with optimism
about the future? Rather than yet another treatise on how multinational corporations are hijacking the globalization process
to the advantage of the few, this book shows how global corporate reach is exactly what is making multinationals more vulnerable
and easier to change. As global firms spread the globe they increasingly compete on their "brand." Once they get big they
come under the scrutiny of a growing global advocacy community that investigates the social and environmental practices of
these firms from the retail shop to the sweatshop and then threatens (and often delivers) to slander the very brands that
give these firms legs.
More and more global firms fear this and are slowly becoming pro-active in seeking third party certifications for their practices. Such alternative branding gives the firm a literal "stamp of approval" by global civil society, makes producer and consumer alike feel better about production and consumption decisions, and betters the bottom line for producers and their suppliers. Conroy demonstrates how this has happened in coffee, timber, and fisheries markets and is beginning to take hold in mining, flowers and elsewhere.
This is by far the most comprehensive work on the "fair trade movement" thus far. Its actually a few books in one. First, it documents how global social movements are evolving in the 21st century. Rather than being simply protest oriented in campaigns to stop corporations in their tracks the certification movement channels firms toward a more sustainable alternative. Finally, it is an insider memoir of a movement that few have the access to the archival and anecdotal evidence of its breadth and detail. These are probably some of the best books ever written, not only do they give you advice about buying everyday products, they
also help to select brands with good repair histories and lowest priceses with the best possible features.

Great! This is probably the most honest book in product development where the Authors, which are absolutely very well known
into the scientific Community all over the world, describe without saving tricks and tips to the reader.
Of course it's not a good night book and require a little knowledge in the concept analysis matter, but this a part I suggest the book to all R&D people and marketers as well.
After this book I have checked for all the other books written by the AA (a lot!!).

If you want to evaluate the effectiveness of commodity promotion programs, this is the right book for you. It shows how to
combine the demand side effect (e.g., advertising) with the supply side effect (e.g., research) to estimate the total effect
of promotion. How to compute the standardized benefit cost ratio is introduced. Also,it covers a wide variety of case studies
which are good references to researchers in this area.
I would say this is the best book in the area of economics of goods promotion evaluation. It is written in plain english (as opposed to those economics jargons). It can be easily read by government officals, business man with moderate economics knowledge, and economics major students.

Exhibit designers have several interesting problems. In many cases the exhibit must be mobil. It travels from trade show to
trade show around the country, even around the world. Then it needs to be set up, quite possibly by people who have never
seen it before, and at the end of the show the exhibit has to be torn down, usually by people who have been working at the
show all day, are tired, don't care where things get put, and are ready to head to a bar.
Here is a book on exhibits by outstanding design companies from around the world. These are not the little ten foot square booths you see around the edges, but the kinds of booths you would expect from Mercedes-Benz.
Actually only about half the book is on business/trade show exhibits. The rest of the book is on more permanent structures such as information booths or museums. All in all, this is an idea book on how to do exhibits that attract attention, show off the company and the products, and create a memorable experience for the visitor.
