Just what it says it isReview Date: 2009-06-20
He uses tarot ideas and twists them a bit to fit his idea of how to make a useful, dramatic oracle deck. He divides the cards into groups of 4. Physical(red), Emotion (green), Mental (indigo), Spirit (violet). These are the colors for the borders of his cards.
The artwork is a bit darker than most decks. The cardstock is great, sturdy and slick. Despite the darkness, I like this deck and use it frequently.
A card of really great use is the 7-blue (mental)-deception and envy. It comes up when people are not being quite as up front as they should be or are hiding true feelings, positive or negative. Another dramatic card is the 2-purple (spirit) waiting game. Its image is a tree in a timer with circles around it, implying you are getting dizzy just waiting.
In terms of accuracy of divination, the deck seems to be right on.

Love these cards!Review Date: 2009-03-30
I do have a warning, if you rely on the traditional symbols of Tarot you may not resonate with this deck! This deck is missing the court deck and has the 7 chakra cards included.
Now, I read both intuitive/psychic and from the traditional symbols of Tarot and I have found my readings to be the easiest and most successful readings I've had. i'm clairvoyant so the images really speak to me. If you're looking for a traditional deck this isn't it. However, I love this deck and people continue to compliment these cards. They are beautiful!

replica pursuing Amy.Review Date: 2007-09-18
Throughout the book, Amy is trying to figure out who she really is. Until one day, her mother surprised her and she met the scientist that had genetically enhanced her: eye sight, ability to run, and lift things a lot heavier than any other normal 12 year old girl.
In my opinion, the book was great because it doesn't just come out and say what the problem is, you kind of have to guess what is going on. I think it's more like a mystery book.
The only thing that I didn't like was the way the author wrote the book. She wouldn't let you know it was another day until you were half way into the paragraph.
I would recommend this book for young girls that are trying to find who they really are.
Amy is not human!!!Review Date: 2007-02-13
Have you ever had the feeling someone's watching you? And you know that your life is in danger even in your own house? Well in the book "Pursuing Amy"
That's how Amy feels every day of her life. But for her it's not just a feeling, its reality.
Amy is not a normal human, actually she's not really human at all. She is a project. Her and seven others exactly like her. This was defiantly an interesting twist to the book. Amy also has numerous problems. She is in desperate need for someone to talk to. Her and her best friend get in a huge fight. Then when she finally finds someone who understands her and someone to talk to, he is murdered. I found this part of the book very interesting, yet depressing.
Amy's mom finally gets a boyfriend Amy approves of. But he turned out to be a horrible person, who tries to kill Amy's mom and capture Amy. He's one of those people who are after Amy. Now Amy's mom is in the hospital dyeing. I couldn't put the book down when I started reading this part.
Amy has no where to go. What can she do? You can find out the shocking background of Amy's life, and what she's going to do about it by reading the book "Pursuing Amy". This book will have you at the edge of your seat wondering what's going to happen next. You will not be disappointed I guarantee it!

Another winner from Beverly ClearyReview Date: 2008-05-21
First pubished in 1979, the book finds the gauzy comfort of the Eisenhower era (when the first Henry Huggins and Beezus books were written) replaced by the strain and worry of the recessionary 'Seventies. Ramona's dad, who recently lost his job, has found new work at a local supermarket, but he doesn't like the position, and having both parents out working full-time places new strains on the family. Ramona, who is now seven years old, is no longer an overt brat, but there's a lot going on in her little head, as she struggles with the demands that come with growing up. She is envious of her teenage older sister, who she sees as a goodie-goodie and as her parent's favorite. Her relationship with her mom seems to be up in the air as well, and her parents, both tired from long days at work, have started to argue, which worries the kids. Of course, Cleary finds the silver lining, and while young readers may both recognize their own families (and become anxious for exactly the same reasons as Ramona does) Cleary magically produces happy endings that still do not deny the hardships and imperfections of life. If you've enjoyed Ramona's earlier adventures, you will not be disappointed with this funny, quick volume. (ReadThatAgain children's book reviews)
The most obnoxious - yet entertaining - little sister in fiction!Review Date: 2007-05-10
I first discovered Ramona Quimby when I was about six-years-old, and instantly fell in love with her pesty antics, and penchant for throwing tantrums at the worst possible moments. Now, with the re-publication of the RAMONA series, however, I am beginning to realize that I missed out on quite a few of Ramona's tales, and have decided to re-immerse myself in the life of the Quimby family. Now, even though so many years have passed, I find that Beverly Cleary's tales about Ramona are still enjoyable, and quite irresistible. Ramona, as always, is the perfect example of a precocious child embarking on the trials and tribulations that accompany growing up. Her ability to act slightly mature at times, then revert back to full-blown childish behavior is spot-on with how growing children truly act; while her jealousy, and ability to find herself in countless bizarre situations only prove to make her even more hilarious. Cleary manages to balance humor with family problems by placing a slight emphasis on difficulties with money, a parent losing a job, and being bombarded with bills. While subjects such as money problems, and not wanting to grow-up are often sore spots, Cleary presents them in a neutral way that offers parents the opportunity to discuss such issues with their children in an effort to put their minds at ease. However, even by introducing these problems, Cleary never overshadows the humorous side of Ramona, and never talks down to the reader. In fact, Ramona remains as lovable as ever as she traverses the muddy waters of second grade, and works to accept the new teacher whom she's still unsure of; while, at the same time, working overtime to twitch her nose to remind her mother that she is, and always will be, her little bunny. The most obnoxious - yet entertaining - little sister in fiction!

Among a few Reiki books that I purchased lately, Mr. Murray's book really surprised me because it was full of "technical" information but so easy to understand. I then purchased more of his books, DVDs and CD. I was skeptical about the DVD attunement but it works well for me. I'm using it almost every other day and can feel my Reiki energy flows stronger than before. I'm grateful for these programs and now a Reiki Master certified through his program.
I have recommended Mr. Murray's programs to my friends who suffer from health problems or stress.
Amazing ResourceReview Date: 2009-03-31
Steve's books are like GOLD, as they are actually more comprehensive than the materials provided by most Reiki masters to their students. I am sure that many Reiki Masters must be upset with Steve, as he divulges information that most Reiki Masters believe to be secret, including all the symbols up to Master Level, and the attunement processes. Most Reiki books do not include this information, and have been very disappointing to me.
After buying his first book, I decided, after reading the reviews, I needed to own the others. I currently have all 5 Reiki guides and the Reiki myths book. And, of course, the package would not be complete without the DVDs.
I would say, though, that although the first book is excellent, it is not enough for me. I needed the Visual of the DVDs to bring it all home. So, I don't think that you can buy a single book, read it, and walk away a Reiki Master. Each of his books and DVDs, however, complements the others. With the combination of the Books, DVDs, studying and practice, you CAN BECOME A REIKI MASTER.
What's awesome about the DVDs is that you can take the attunements over and over again. As someone who was attuned in person by a Reiki Master over a Decade ago, I can attest to the DVD attunements as being every bit as effective as in person.
My only criticism is that the whole package should be sold as a complete set, as once you get started, you will want the whole set anyway. However, I guess that most will not want to plunk down that money (even though it is completely reasonable in the scheme of things) without first experiencing the quality of it with the first book.
If you are interested in Reiki, and don't want to waste your time and money with disappointments, just get this material, and you will not regret it.

Roses for Mama by Janette OkeReview Date: 2006-05-14
Angela's family moved to the west because their mother wasn't feeling very well and the doctor said that the cooler air might be better for her lungs. Their father sold their farm and they were searching for a new land to build another farm in a region with clear air that would improve their mother's health. Their mother felt better for a while, but when the winter cold made her feel sick again, she knew that she had only months to live. Nobody knew that their father will die even faster.
Now three years had passed. Angela is now seventeen and with the help of her nineteen year old brother Thomas, she worries that she won't be able to raise her siblings to be good people and struggles to teach them what they need to be taught, as her mother would have. Angela also worries that Thomas might soon get married and she'll be left on her own to take care of the children. Angela wishes her mother was still there to guide and help her, but she trusts God and relies on him.
Angela begins to think about her future too. Meanwhile her neighbor's son, a wealthy man from the city moves in and begins to court her. As she begins to know Carter Stratton more and more she realizes that he's not perfect for her, and marries Thane who has been Thomas's best friend ever since Thomas and Angela were little.
I think this book was very interesting and touching. It was also very easy to read. The author described beautifully every point in the story. It's a wonderful story of how God changed their plans, but at the end everything turned out to be even better for them.
Janette Oke is Consistently GoodReview Date: 2007-04-03
My only real complaint about the novel is that it gets a little preachy at one point when Angela explains the salvation process to an elderly neighbor, Charlie. In my opinion, this interupts the flow of the rest of the story. I don't understand why Christian authors feel the need to preach in their novels. Isn't their primary audience already Christian? Wouldn't that audience already understand the basics of the salvation process? It makes me wonder to whom they think they are preaching. I wouldn't expect a casual reader to select a Christian romance novel. Perhaps I am mistaken, and I think this is probably my own little personal irritation anyway. Overall, Roses for Mama is an easy and entertaining read, and the quality is consistent with the other Janette Oke books I have read. I think most readers who enjoy Christian romance novels will enjoy this novel as well.
Romance for 4-8 years olds ???Review Date: 2006-08-30
Janette Oke is a wonderful author and this is a well written series. The reading level is for ages 4-8. My concern is whether it is wise to introduce romance to girls at such a young age? I don't think so and hence my lower rating.
There are plenty other excellent historical fiction series and clsssics for that do not contain romance that I would rather see my daughter reading.

outstanding war memoirReview Date: 2009-05-17
Sakai discusses among other subjects the ludicrously severe training regimen imposed on Navy fliers, tactics he used against various Allied planes, how the face of the home front changed, his growing disillusion with the lies spouted forth by the propagandists, and his love of flying and what it felt like to fly a Zero. Further, he takes time to correct overblown or outright fictional accounts of battles given by Morison, Jack D. Dale, or about Colin P. Kelly Jr, which makes for interesting reading as well. The comradeship shared with fellow pilots is real, the hurt when they fail to come home is deeply felt. His dealings with his family, and his relationships with some women including his future wife, are all here.
And then there are lots and lots of tales of air combat, well written and exciting. To me this is of somewhat less interest, though it takes up the majority of the book; but for a glimpse of an apolitical fighter ace, in combat for his country, this book is first rate and should be on the shelf of any Pacific War buff.
Unforgettable account of air war in the PacificReview Date: 2008-12-01
Sakai is critical of Japan's pilot training because its standards were too high in the 1930s and produced only about a hundred pilots per year, not nearly enough to go to war with the United States. He points out that once the war started with the U.S., training standards were lowered, and many of the pilots who made it through during the war were far below the quality of most who washed out during his own training.
It is instructive to read Sakai's reaction when his group reaches Luzon for the initial attacks on the Philippines after Pearl Harbor and sees "some sixty enemy bombers and fighters neatly parked along the airfield runways." This negligence on the part of U.S. command in the Philippines has never been satisfactorily explained.
Another particular incident that made an impression on me was the "Danse Macabre" of Sakai and his comrades where they taunted Allies on the ground by performing loops above Port Moresby in May, 1942, much to the chagrin of Sakai's superiors. That sort of showboating runs contrary to the stereotype of WWII Japanese that I grew up with in the United States, exemplified by Bridge on the River Kwai and Tora! Tora! Tora!. Of course, once Allied pilots' skills, experience and quality of aircraft caught up with the Japanese, there was no longer any opportunity for showing off.

The Best Read Of All TimesReview Date: 2008-10-03
Very inspirational writing, but it is just the beginningReview Date: 2009-01-28
The truth is that Mr. Collier (and modern success teachers) loved this concept because people will keep coming back for more of it decade after decade even though their lives do not always improve. It is a clear historical fact that Robert Collier developed multiple series based around this same concept of attraction (The Secret of the Ages, The Life Magnet and The Book of Life early on and the Law of Higher Potential later) and sold the same information again and again with different stories. Since the "Law of Attraction" or "you get what you think" is really just the first step toward success, authors and speakers are sure to keep the flocks coming back as long as they indicate that it is THE key to success rather than the FIRST STEP to success.
In The Robert Collier Letter Book he lays out all of the details of how he tested different letters until he found the one that would get people to buy. In fact, he admits that he had not even written the books when he sent out the letters. The order came in so fast that he "worked day and night getting the books written." He also said that "a lot of books came back. They would, when oversold as much as this letter and circular did oversell them. The idea had been excellent, BUT NO BOOK EVER WRITTEN COULD QUITE COME UP TO SUCH A PROMISE." {Capitalized for emphasis.}
Those words screamed out at me when I read them in the only advanced success book Robert Collier ever wrote - his sales letter book. Of course it is about creating marketing, testing the marketing, using what works and providing the product. Hold on! Do you mean to tell me that Robert Collier - the key source of the modern Secret movement - didn't actually believe that success came through your thoughts but rather through systematic effort? It turns out, in his own words, that it's true.
Please, don't take my word for it. Read a copy of The Robert Collier Letter Book yourself. You can find it here: The Robert Collier Letter Book. It will be one of the most important reads of your life - if you really want success and fulfillment. You'll find that thoughts are WILDLY important, but they never work alone. You don't get back what you THINK, you get back what you DO. That's exactly what Robert Collier really believed himself. The Secret books that he wrote were really just the juvenille steps toward success and he knew it.
Sadly, today, people act like The Secret and the Law of Attraction are at the post-graduate level of success. My friends, I care for you and all humankind deeply, so I must tell you that the Law of Attraction doesn't work unless you are attracted to work. The Secret of the Ages, when simplified without the glorious language (and there is no question that Robert Collier wrote about the obvious first step toward success far better than any of the modern authors) reads like this:
Before you can do anything that will bring you success, you must think upon doing it and how you will do it. If you think about all the things that could go wrong, you'll be discouraged and won't take action.
There you have it. It is an important key to success, but it's only the beginning. I've written five books and am writing my sixth now for the computer industry. But here's the key - I wrote them. I didn't think about writing them... I wrote them. The first step is to stop believing you can't and start believing you can, but once you become a can believer, you have to do it. All success comes by doing in the end.
I know some won't like this review, but it is a review of the author and the truth behind what's in the book. I've read not only this book, but every book written by Robert Collier, Orison Swett Marden, David Bush, Elmer Wheeler, Elmer Leterman, Frank Channing Haddock, and William Matthews among others. I've spent two decades reading, studying and seeking for the secrets to success and all I've learned can be summed up in the following formula:
Think + Act + Think + React = Success
The first think indicates that one must be positive and believe that she or he may achieve the desired end. The second think, however, is quite different. Here, you must technically analyze your results and then react by changing your actions so as to succeed. It's not all about positive thoughts and attracting of results.
I'll understand if some don't like this review, but all I've said is true regarding Robert Collier and his writing of this book among others and can be verified by anyone who is a true seeker of truth. I, too, was shocked and yet the revelation was the most important step in my success journey and searching so far!

Beware of poor production workReview Date: 2009-04-27
It was very difficult for me to give this book 3 stars, but felt it necessary to warn others of the poor re-production of this particular edition. It is in Public Domain, therefore, any publisher can re-produce it at will and without paying royalties. It's a great price at $5.99, but in this instance I think you get what you pay for. The typesetting is probably 8-9 points (a good 1/3 smaller than standard) and the 'leading' (the space between the lines) is much too tight as well. For most people (even with excellent reading eyesight) this alone will eventually cause eyestrain. For those of us who already require a little help with reading glasses, it is quite difficult to read - for any length of time anyway. The focus and concentration required to read this edition takes away from its wonderful content.
PS: While I fully embrace the wisdom of Robert collier, here's just a side-note about about what another reviewer mentioned as a warning regarding his philosophy on health and healing. He died of cancer at age 65. His (along with Mary Baker Eddy's) idea that illness can not survive if you deny its existence (greatly simplified here) didn't work for him - and it didn't work for Wallace Wattles (another noteworthy writer from the New Thought Movement of the early 20th century who died an untimely death). perhaps this is because this basic belief fails to address what may have caused the disease in the first place. Therefore, denying only the disease, does not deny the possible wrong thinking that may have brought it about. In the case of disease, it may be better to focus on changing wrong thinking patterns, along with a focus on drawing the proper health care across your path (doctors, nutritionists, books, etc... all of which played a roll in eradicating cancer when I had it).
Hope this review helps. Thanks for taking the time to read it.

Those poor kidsReview Date: 2002-05-22
As a person with a severe disability myself, I have little sympathy for people who intentionally go out of their way to place a pregnancy in circumstances that can give children a disability. Both Bobbi and Kenny were warned of the risk but apparently placed public relations dreams at a much higher priority than health and well-being.
Certainly, there is a degree of risk with every pregnancy from environmental factors, but to knowingly place children's health in danger because you have to have your own biological kids at all costs--irespective of who suffers---is selfish and emotionally immature.
There is nothing brave or heroic about increasing child suffering when there are numerous risk factors already in this world.
