Every time my children get a little sick, I check this book for the best remedy. My children never get the illness to the degree other children do if they get it at all. This book tells you how to support their bodies in getting rid of the illness with their own immune system, with no side effects or harmful medicines. With homeopathic remedies, children get stronger. My kids haven't needed antibiotics. This book also gives you the conventional treatment, as well as other remedies that have been lost in modern medicine. I LOVE this book!! I can't believe it's out of print! That's sad.

This is a must have for any parent, especially those who prefer natural care before seeing a doctor! It has been a tremendous help in so many ways. We would recommend it to EVERY parent!!!

The advice in this book is comprehensive and really excellent! I was able to reverse my 4 year old daughters ear infections to the amazement of her ENT. After a prognosis of "andenoid removal and tube insertion " required, after just 4 weeks the diagnosis is " no surgery necessary" ! A phone consultation with the doctor helped me to better decide which remedies, and the dosages, that were required.
The book lists all the major, and even many minor, maladies you will face with your child, and what you can do naturally, with herbs, vitamins, diet, accupressure, aromatherapy, hydrotherapy and homeopathy. Each ailment has a good explanation, then lists each remedy you can do, with a basic plan and an advanced plan. It is so easy to use.... you can go straight to the chapter you need and then refer to the others as you required. The advice is also great for adults too. Great antecdotes of actual case histories too.

My daughter's complete recovery, after 1 1/2 years of being constantly sick, speaks for itself. Dr. Stengler really cares about healing children naturally, and maintaining their natural vitality. Personally I'm hooked and will use natural health cures as a first choice... and conventional medicine last!

With my ever-growing addiction to natural parenting tomes, I already have quite a collection of child care reference books. But something about this book beckoned me to take another look, and I'm so very glad I did.

Your Vital Child is written in easy-to-understand terms, careful to explain the basics of alternative therapies such as herbals, homeopathics, accupressure and even hydrotherapy. What I really love is that the authors have obviously worked so hard to create a comprehensive, one-stop reference guide with all the vital information any parent could possibly need - in short paragraphs with simple instructions on how to implement various treatments and what to expect after treatment.

There is more vital information here than in all my other natural health care books combined! Really. Facts that I had to learn from friends or the Internet (such as not to give astragalus when your child has a fever, or that some aromatherapies counteract the effect of herbal remedies) were all in this book, and I'm still discovering new information as I dig deeper into the book. You'll also appreciate the vast range of A to Z ailments that you can quickly look up, including common childhood diseases such as measles, mumps, chickenpox and many others (over 150 ailments to look-up). Other chapters include incredibly helpful information about what you can do to keep your child from getting sick not only now but for the rest of his life. Truly a one-stop holistic pediatrician shop!

Thick with an abundance of resources, remedies, treatment options and descriptions, this is absolutely the very best whole-child health care material I have ever had the pleasure to place on my bookshelves. It is my new standard baby shower gift and one that every parent and caretaker should not be without. The next time your child gets sick, you'll have all your options at your fingertips, then *you* choose what you feel comfortable with. A very worthwhile book and one that you won't be disappointed with!

I had worried that by book three the brilliant Dave Putnam would have run out of steam in his Gamekeeper Series. I needn't have feared as 10 Downing Street continues with the English Commonwealth controlling most of the Earth and a communist conspiracy existing which builds toward a massive World War II. It is more than just capitalism against communism and Putnam reveals he can just as handily explore different economic systems as he has done so beautifully in dealing with politics, war, working with animals, and especially religion. The alternate world series continues with the addition of new characters and making excellent use of old ones from the first two books. Winston Churchill again reigns supreme, at least for a while as this book covers a great number of years. More time is spent with the most interesting Albert Einstein. You find Dwight D. Eisenhower, Rommel, and George Patton as well. Historical figures are dealt with in a way that will convince the reader that the author knows his history. The fictional ones are as real and alive as any you'll find in the very best of novels. He also doesn't make the mistake of bringing in characters that could not have been born after history took a major twist in the 1890's. The work is brilliant, there are twists and surprises and even the sometimes too long technical descriptions are interesting. The author also knows how to tell decent love stories and to treat women as human beings. Toward the end there is a touch of Asimov and Clement, however I don't want to be a spoiler. What I like best is that unlike Turtledove and some other science fiction authors, Putnam isn't afraid to make religion and the fact that God exists as a vital part of his universe as it is in our real universe. As a Christian I did not agree with all the views expressed, but I was not offended as the three books have the feel of being written with love. The best news is that a 4th book follows and I will order it just as soon as I post this review. Dave Putnam's novels deserve to be considered classics.

This novel is by far Dave Putnam's best work. I was hopelessly drawn to the gripping plot, and was unable to put the book down. His character development is excellent, I was easily able to visualize and relate with the characters, especially Albert Einstein. Putnam's mastery of "alternate" history writing is excellent, and I cannot wait to see what happens to the planet earth, as well as how both humans and animals evolve in his next novel. Keep up the good work Mr. Putnam........

In book 3 of the Gamekeeper Series, Mr. Putnam really ups the pace. For all the readers who kept saying they were reading the same stories over and over again, and nothing truly new was being written, Mr. Putnam is what you asked for. The characters, both historical figures and new creations, have depth and personality far beyond those of most authors. The book abounds with imagination and highly interesting new concepts. The reading is smooth, fun, and impossible to put down. I highly recommend the series to those readers who are imaginative themselves.

Outstanding book! These nasty weeds I used to roundup, I have found to be one of the most healing plants yet. I now use nettle for everything. Our horses shine like no other. We use it for healing as well as for nutrition. I find myself looking in my friends yards seeing if they have the pesky weed for me to harvest. Its great on chicken too!

I have a large patch of Stinging Nettles close by the house. I knew there were some uses like compost and tea but I did not know that Nettles could be used for so many different things. Some ideas in the book, are too much for me to try. Good book, recommended to all who think that Stinging Nettles are just a weed. They are so much more!

After reading this book by either dipping in to seek what you wish to know - or from cover-to-cover - you will be intrigued and delighted!

We hold our breathe too often and too long.(may it be from stress, busyness , over-focussed ). This book teaches us to breathe, stretch and relax. Its simple to read and less technical than other ones I have read on this subject. From there, with a series of eye excercises, your eye vision will improve. Our eyes are dynamic , why get locked in by a pair of glasses. Without eye exercises, our eyes will only go down-hill with glasses. If your prescription is very strong it will improve it to some degree. Works great especially when the distant from your outstretched arm cannot provide the correct focal length.

I wanted to ditch my reading glasses and thought I'd give this a try. I was pleasantly surprised at the content and find it very informative and useful. We'll see over the next few weeks how things progress but so far I'm happy with this book.

I have cast a glance through the whole book and I have been
suddenly in the right mood: the whole matter is interesting
and stimulating. I think the result of the training will be
good not only for the eyes but for the whole body and for the
mind too. The book should be seriously read because it leads
a way of life.

I use this book frequently in my practice. It is well organized and easy to use. The combinations are effective for a myriad of dysfunctions and dysfunctional patterns.

This book successfully combines the classic uses of the acupunture points with modern concerns of emotional distress, modern-life trauma and pains. Dr Ross, like a true master, shares his knowledge and experience in the art of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I am eager for this book to be available for purchase. It will be a well-used and welcome addition to my practice library. No matter where I open the book, I am wide-eyed with wonder at the wealth of information at my fingertips. Most acupuncture books repeat the same info over and over - this book is a true innovation.

This is a great book. It supplements other great authors, such as Joseph Helms M.D. There are so many styles of acupuncture, this is another well outlined method. There are no descriptions for physical technique of needle placement or manipulation, but multiple point selections. This is a modern book for an ancient medicine. Mr Ross very skillfully sorts out what you need and do not need form the ancient material and he eliminates sources that are contradictory.

I bought this book as a reference work,at the beginning,but after going through it,I realized that it deserved being read more in detail. I could find a few pages on usually neglected issues, such as the historical meanings of some acupuncture points. I am carrying out a research study on the definitions of the acupuncture points in Ling Shu and Su Wen (in Chinese) and I hardly had ever found anything on this topic in a non-Chinese language book. Only one regret: no full analytical index,alas!

This is the definitive book on the subject of acupuncture and will also be of use for those who practice acupressure and pressure points in martial arts. The book is invalueable- it provides the means of finding points in a simple and understandable way without alot of professional jargon. Another suggested book for martial artists would be The Layman's Guide to Acupuncture by Yoshio Manaka, MD and Ian A. Urquhart, PhD by Weatherhill publishers, NY

One of the best books I've ever read about acupuncture. Li Ding is a real Master.

This was a fun and interesting book in which I hope the author pursues as a series.
I want to see more of Jim and Paul Mckee!

I have read all of Peter Mars books to date. They are all wonderful, and easy to read. Hard to put down too. I'm not a book critic, or even a book nut. I do however find that all Peters' books pull me in from the first page and do not let me go until the last!

This book is no exception.

Please do not take my advice, get one, any one, and see for yourself, this guy is good!
