Summer Camps Books

If you're looking for a big, generalized guide for viewing an assortment of summer opportunities for your child, this is the best guide available. However, I found "Early College Programs" to be a far superior guide for reviewing summer opportunities for my college-bound teen.

I really enjoyed this book!I got it from my schools library and it made me laugh really hard.The show Salute Your Shorts is based on this book.

Wow, I am shocked. The number of camps in the United States is amazing. Don't limit your troop to the same boring set of camps, this book opens the door to many camps that our local councils would never be able to inform us about.

Twins, Susan & Christine Pratt take jobs as counselors at a summer camp. When they find out that someone is out to destroy the camp they decide to investigate and end up switching places as well. This is one of the first times these girls switch places to solve crimes in the series. It is a great story filled with adventure, romance and fun. This is a great light-hearted mystery for younger kids.

Summer Camp Creeps is one of the best summer books I enjoyed as a
child and I'd recommend it to anybody who enjoys the hilarity that can happen when boys are pitted against girls in a Summer Camp Battleroyal with food fights,canoeing,a volleyball war and
did I fail to mention there is also Indian legends to explore?

The book, Summer Camp Race of Horror, by Michael Kaye can be enjoyed by those young people who are not faint of heart. Get into the time warp and enjoy the mental imagery. Michael Kaye is a fascinating, creative individual.

I bought the whole series for my eleven year-old neice. I thought this would be a nice departure from the Babysitter Club since it features African American little girls. I happened to bring the book into the hairdresser by mistake and read the whole thing thoroughly enjoying. I was able to relive some of my childhood and my neice was exposed to the culture of the fifties in a Jim Crow south done lovingly and with care. I applaud Miss Belton for her insightful series.

A sure-fire way to get your teen excited about summer as an opportunity to try something new.This guide stretches your teen to think beyond the neighborhood and look at programs (general and specialized) all over the US and abroad.The book is well-organized georgraphically and by interest area (e.g., residential computer camps; sailing/scuba programs; dance/theater/music/arts camps; instructional golf/tennis or other sport-specific camps - like skateboarding, bike adventure trips, etc.; or just a list of general multi-activitiy camps). Tip: jump-start your teen's summer by ordering a copy as soon as it's off the press - some of these wonderful programs featured can fill up early!
