Great for beginner and experienced. Covers the basics on how "IT" works, but then fills it in with rich insights from those proven successful. According to the cover, written by "eBay's #1 Rated U.S. Education Specialist". It certainly shows in her content. Beyond simply "how to", the inside scoop on the type of people who are succeeding, and in what way they have implemented eBay. Ton's of interviews and profiles packed with to-the-point insider secrets. Information on pages 138-143 was VERY helpful. Must also check out suggestions on 329.

I have been inspired by the book, The eBay Success Chronicles: Secrets and Techniques eBay PowerSellers Use Every Day to Make Millions, because this book provides insights on how to proceed with selling items on eBay and chronicles the success testimonies of others who have become Power Sellers in the business of e-trading and ecommerce.

The personal testimonies of those who have made eBay a profitable business venture encourages others of the possibilities for personal growth and development. Having listed on eBay with no success, I found this book to provide helpful hints and practical suggestions on how I too can become successful.

The do's and don'ts, proven skills and experiences of the Power Sellers enable the Readers to become better informed and also sparks ideas for setting up ones own eBay business. The author took great effort to not only interview top Sellers but to layout those interviews in a way that Readers could easily understand who they are, their contact information as well as their websites.

Web resources as well as graphical statistics through charts and graphs provide the Readers with additional resources to obtain further information on how to get started on eBay. The most intriguing part of this book was the final advice and words of wisdom from those who have made it on eBay.

My church is using this paperback for a Bible Study. The only thing is the Bible Study is during the day. I checked out the book, and decided it was something I could do on my own. I used it for 40 days during Lent. The book instructs you to make a notebook for notes..journal writing, prayer, scripture, food for thought. I recommend you do this also. Each of the 40 days you work through this book (which only takes about 10-15 min. a day) you will learn something new or come away thinking about what was stated that day. I have since ordered a copy of this and The Dieter's Prayer Book for each of my Bible Study ladies (and a few close friends) They have all enjoyed it. Buy this book! You will love it! Once I finished the book, I just started a second round.

FAST REAL ESTATE PROFITS was quite helpful and an easy read. The information given throughout the book is a must for beginners in the business. It is up front and candid about getting started and at the same time does not sugar coat the processes to make it sound as if any one can buy and flip houses.
I appreciated the information about developing a "team" of people to help through the processes: real estate agent, lawyer, accountant, lenders, contractors and inspectors. The process becomes easier when you have people you know and trust.
The book also contains terms used in buying and selling real estate, what avenue of financing to use, and how to find properties. Information given on priorities in renovating and scheduling can be quite valuable, as well as showing and selling the property.
I recommend the book to anyone interested in getting started in real estate.

This book touches on all the subjects for beginners to learn about flipping. I got a LOT out of it. Basically, you need a lot of help, and a lot of people around you, and if you get that, you have a good chance of succeeding. Good luck with financing tho...it's very tough right now. You really need money to make a go at flipping houses!

I just bought serveral similar books here. I would say this is the good book worth to reading. The good point is that it does tell something you may not know about flipping, not just giving you some basic ideas.

Great Resource! A must read for anyone interested in Flipping houses.

Sebastian Howell explains the art of flipping houses in easy to understand and honest tone. She uses this book to lay out step by step all the things to consider and how to go through the whole process of flipping a house from, "Is this something I might want to do" to Depositing the money in the bank. Not only does she cover the whole process from beginning to end, but she covers all the options available to you at each stage. In doing this she covers the pro's and con's for each option and which people they would be best for and which people should choose another option at that particular stage.

I've read several other books trying to research if flipping is something I could do on the side. Howell puts flipping into perspective for those wanting to do it as their full time job as well as those not quite ready to give up their 9 to 5 jobs. Overall this is a very informative book and a definite resource for those just starting and those who are trying to make the decision... "To flip or not to flip?"

All you need to know to get started!

You've seen all the shows on television that shows the audience how easy people make money flipping houses. But, I'm sure that you've wondered, just like I have, just how possible is it? Well, Sebastian Howell has laid it all out in black and white. The author has described the process in universal terms, meaning you could apply her principles to any geographical area.

This book is easy to understand and deals in both the basics and the more complex material. It starts off with simple explanations and moves on to understanding the market and the business of making money through buying and selling houses. It gives clear definitions of the legal terms and the jargon that you'll come across in the industry. The author also clearly explains the various people you will associate with and their roles on your team. I really appreciated the examples used in the book. They help to clarify the material. The section covered on financing is comprehensive and understandable with tips to pulling it altogether.

One the most beneficial sections in the book is a complete list of what to look for in a `flippable' house. She gives clear instructions of what to take note of, what can work and what might cause some problems. Once you've found the ideal property, she leads you through the negotiating process. She deals with renovating properties and then moves the reader onto the selling process. The added bonus to the book is the comprehensive index at the back.

Before I started reading this book I had the impression that It would sum up all of the incidents and all the drama leading up to it. But, I was greatly disappointed. When the book ended I was thinking, did the real ending of the book fall out? Then I turned to page and saw the epilogue, so I thought, "Okay this should sum things up for me." But, It didn't. All it did was to leave me hanging on a string, and wondering if I misread something about a fifth book. I suggest that you don't read it unless you have prepared yourself for dissatisfation. But really, Is a fifth book coming out? Cause if it is, I'll change my review around completely.

The horror of industrial warfare
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 2 total.
Review Date: 2008-07-22
This book compiled for the most part from original sources such as diaries and letters depicts the struggle in Normandy from the German viewpoint with emphasis on the grunts doing the fighting. But, the book transcends the viewpoint of either side. It relates in detail the receiving end of what students of military history now describe as industrial warfare. Many of the first person descriptions repeat the overwhelming material advantage the Allies possessed. German tanks especially Panthers and Tigers, "88" caliber guns, their equivalent to our bazookas, and machine guns were far superior to the Allies. Their soldiers were confident until faced with the massed airpower, artillery, navel gunfire, and the strangling of their supply lines by the allied strength in the air. Still, they fought a courageous and skillful retreat except for the trap at Falaise. The book reminds one of the amazing job the American Army did in putting divisions with no combat experience in the line and succeeding in attack without catastrophic losses. Despite the massive literature on the Normandy campaign, I recommend this book to those interested in military history, WWII, students, military professionals, and libraries.

Santa put this in my stocking. Many adjectives and cliches come to mind: "page turner," "can't put it down," and even just "Wow."

Hargreaves masterfully narrates and is possessed to tell this story from the German view, only turning to an Allies' account of some key event when it is only absolutely necessary. He stitches personal stories, official records, and historical context of June 6, 1944 together for a whole and complete German account of the battle for France.

This detailed perspective of The Germans in Normandy is refreshing and a long overdue addition to the works of Paul Carell's Invasion! and Stephen Ambrose's D-Day works (D-Day, Band of Brothers, and others). If you enjoy WWII history, Hargreaves has written the next book you should read.

Normandy & the Fighting Endurance of the German Soldier
Helpful Votes: 6 out of 6 total.
Review Date: 2008-03-01
This is a superb book that is well researched & examines the battles fought in Normandy in 1944 from a German stance. The author explains how the Allied invasion was seen as the last opportunity to turn the tide & how Rommel made great strides in his short time in 5-6 months to strengthen the defences. However, the author does not just cover off the strategic & key high command personalities but more importantaly he looks at the Normandy battles from the common fighting German soldier (Landser)& has drawn on many first hand accounts, letters, diaries etc. The book examines how the German soldiers fought on despite been overwhelmed by the Allied material superiority & air supremacy. The Allies command of the air was a key factor in the German defeat as all German movement by day was effectively paralysed & soul destroying to the troops. But as the author points out 'despite the Allied material supremacy, tank for tank, gun for gun, the Wehrmact was more than a match for its enemies'. Unfortunately for the Germans, their losses incurred in men & material could no longer be made good. This is the story of the German soldier & how he fought & endured those battles in the West in 1944 (especially around Caen & Falaise), been driven on by their comradeship for one another. Highly recommended reading.

"After a good movie, conversation with a good friend, and great chocolate, all's right with the world." ~Laura Jensen Walker

Laura Jensen Walker is well traveled, loves movies and enjoys spending time with her friends. In this celebration of friendship she explores friendship traditions and the beauty of each meaningful connection.

She includes "girl pearls" throughout the chapters. These are ideas for tea parties or other celebrations of friendship. She loves scones, chocolate and a good cup of tea. She also gives ideas for sandwiches with cheddar cheese and apples that I will definitely try. She lived in England in her early twenties and loves reminiscing.

I have rarely laughed so much while reading a book. I love cats, but Laura's dog Gracie is pretty hilarious. This book is filled with quotes, memories and laughs. Pass the Leonidas chocolates...

Laura Walker has done it again. In this, her latest collection of fall down funny reading, she offers us her laughter-filled take on the ups and downs of female friedship. Sorry guys. Girl Time is just for us. This book kept both me and my nineteen-year-old daughter (who was intrieged by the darling cover) in stitches. Laura's commentary on friendships between various members of the fairer sex is right on. As a woman from the Texas, she nails us southern gals. (Bless her heart.) This book would make a wonderful gift for a friend or female family member -- would especially be great to take along to give as friendship gifts on a girls' night out or weekend away.

A "6 Star" laugh your butt off book! The cat & dog stories had me "Howling" (no pun intended). If you love animals, you will laugh out loud! It is rare when any book makes me laugh out loud. And even rarer when I laugh at the same parts over & over again! Reading 'Girl Time' brought back my own memories of friends, places and times I never want to forget. I called my sister in Oregon, we laughed together as I read her several sections; she finally told me to "shut up" and send her the book. She "didn't want me to spoil the ending". I told her there is no ending. When she got the book; she called me and we "howled" together again. Laura Jensen Walker now has two devoted fans!

There are some things about Nancy Clark's wonderfully written book "Hear His Voice" that readers will find captivating, entertaining and very inspirational. Her sincere story telling style and pure honesty comes through in her autobiographical look at her spiritual life.

Her life story is both amazing and thought provoking; yet it comes across with almost a child like trust that those who read her story will understand what she has discovered on her own spiritual journey. Certainly she has bared her very soul and offered herself up for judgments.

The book will open up new vistas of understanding for some while perhaps confirming what some others already believe. In either case, it makes little difference because the story and the lessons she has learned and shares make fascinating reading. It is one of those undiscovered little books that could become a best seller if published by a mainstream publishing house. Certainly the book's cover does not do justice to what is inside it and on its pages!

Nancy Clark comes across as that kind of friend that you would most enjoy spending some time with and talking about spiritual matters over a cup of tea. She is not pretentious in any way nor is there any signs of a big ego. She simple tells it like it happened and trusts that people will sort it out in their own way with an open mind and heart.

She has this profound mystical experience and it is the exploration of this spiritual event in her life that alters and changes her forever. She shares some of what she has learned from that experience and what it means to her and how she lives her life.

If you enjoy reading about spiritual and mystical matters and are looking for a book that will give you some personal spiritual growth - then this book is the one you were looking for!

I enjoyed the book very much and could identify with what she was saying in many ways - as I think other readers will as well. I gave this book The American Authors Association's highest book rating of FIVE STARS - and I also nominate it for one of their annual book awards for outstanding non-fiction! The book is really that good! I give this my personal endorsement and recommendation. A must read and must buy book!

"Reading Hear His Voice brought me to absolute tears--both of ecstatic joy and sorrow. As a modern day mystic, Nancy Clark's experiences are not unlike those of bygone mystics--even from biblical days--who endured such hostile ridicule as a result of their profound and deep communion with Source. Nancy's heartfelt account will grip you to the core of your being and lift you to the greatest heights as you read this candid report of a one-on-one encounter and communion with the Light and the magnitude of unconditional love that one can only come to know through such experiences. As one who's always had a special and very personal relationship with Source, Nancy's connection was validated as a result of her Spiritually Transformative Experience (STE) and the horrible fear-based lies from the priest she encountered were finally put to rest. We are reminded not only to remember and honour our own direct link to Source, but to trust in the communion that is always available for us--to listen to and trust that sacred Voice that speaks to everyone. Nancy's account is so clearly and eloquently delivered and truly centred in love, you cannot help but know its authenticity! This book truly is a must read!" - Rev. A Very Important Book

I believe that this is a very important book for all those on the spiritual path. And if you're on this planet, you're on a spiritual path.

I have studied Mysticism, Carl Jung, and NDEs extensively. I read about Nancy Clark in Kenneth Ring's HEADING TOWARD OMEGA. I then discovered that she held IANDS meetings in my area and attended. She has been a close friend now for 20some years. When I first met her I realized she had all the characteristics of someone that has had a true mystical experience, and that her only goal in life was making God as visible to the rest of us as He is to her. It's funny, but we don't give value to someone that has had a true mystical experience unless they've been dead for a thousand years. Don't let that be the case here.

All the time I've known Nancy, she has emphasized that it's the little everyday things that matter, and that God speaks to all of us. I always fimly believed that except for one exception - everyone but me. Then one day Nancy had a question for me that I thought about but couldn't answer. That Sunday the Gospel was read in church and I thought that it might contain the answer to Nancy's question and wrote it down because God might be using me to answer her. I never gave her the answer because I decided that God doesn't use me in that way. The next week Nancy emailed me that she had received her answer using the Bible technique that she describes in her book. It was the exact paragragh I had written down. I don't imagine the content that was that important - more important was God was saying to me, "Yes, I am speaking to you. I have been speaking to you, and I would really appreciate it if you would start listening."

That is why this book is so important. He was speaking to me, but I wasn't listening. Not because I didn't want to but because I didn't know how. That is part of what this book is; a how to book about hearing His Voice. It could easily be retitled The Basics of Hearing His Voice, or in my case, Hearing His Voice for Dummies.

If you are just beginning the spiritual path, you need this book. If you have been on the spiritual path, you need this book. And keep it on the nightstand - you'll be refering to it often.

A Loving, Humble, and Intelligent Masterpiece that's also BELIEVABLE!

This is a marvelous book that's written with profound eloquence, beauty, love and wisdom. As a person who's recently been awakened, or reawakened, to the quest for spiritual communion, this book has been--both literally and figuratively--a "Godsend" to me! The author meticulously builds a foundation of credibility throughout the earlier parts of the book. This is done through an eloquent and courageous disclosure of intimate details of her personal life. Her three major communions with God are magnificently interwoven into the tapestry of her life's story. The wisdom that follows is then easily recognized as truth, and it's written with both love and intelligence. Thus, there are several things that make this book truly special: its credibility; its courageous and humble autobiographical component; its beautiful description of mystical encounters; and its wisdom, which is expressed with such profound love and intelligence--both.

The credibility of this book is perhaps its most singularly outstanding attribute. There's quite a bit of talk and banter about "spirituality" these days, and many people seem to be getting into the act. I am a diagnostic surgical pathologist and cytopathologist, and the default tendency toward skepticism is a strongly entrenched product of my training as a physician. I've also been in the "real world" workplace for over 13 years, and this has primarily served to reinforce that academically instilled skepticism on a practical level. So I was rather shocked when, having chosen this book because it seemed to be exactly what I was yearning for, I looked at the "About the Author" section and saw that Nancy Clark is a cytotechnologist! For those who don't know, it should be pointed out that cytotechnology is field that requires INTENSE concentration over prolonged periods of time with immensely important medical decisions riding on the cytotechnologist's diagnostic accuracy and ability to sometimes find a needle in a haystack. It is truly a mentally demanding profession and not a hospitable realm for flighty nut cases. I hold this group of people in extremely high regard! I didn't know she was one until AFTER I opened the book.

More important than any professional affiliation is the author's OBVIOUS honesty, which can be gleaned by any reader with even the most meager bit of common sense. There are several passages that point towards an unmistakable veracity of the narrative. For example, when describing her first mystical encounter, which was a short near death experience, if she were lying but trying to "make us believe" her, she would NOT have disclosed that her medical records failed to document the resuscitation effort and her having been discovered alive after removing the body sheet from her face, and then passing out. Instead, she would have omitted, glossed over, or even lied about the failure of medical documentation. If she were just trying to sell a story, it is also unlikely that she would disclose that her own family had, at least initially, not believed her story about the mystical encounter she had with The Light of God during the eulogy she gave, but disclose she did. If she were dishonest, or even if she were just exaggerating, is it likely that she'd point out that, due to failing vision, she had occasionally mourned for tire treads on the roadside that she had initially mistaken for dead animals? Um.....I don't think so!

The author also makes it abundantly clear that for much of her adult life, her thinking was primarily left-brained and quite firmly grounded in the physical "reality." For example, when she sits alone out in the countryside pondering words for her deceased friend's eulogy, she feels his presence, yet like most of us when faced with such an intuitive knowing, has the urge to dismiss it. She writes,

"A feeling of John's spiritual presence beside me startled me. My visual perception did not observe any shape or form of John. Yet I knew beyond my discerning intellect that what I was sensing deep within my inner self was true. My analytical brain was always trying to steer me away from my true feelings within with scolding words like, 'This can't be. John is dead. There has to be an explanation for this.' I reasoned that my mind was playing tricks on me, yet at the same time, I knew that I was experiencing something very real! When I acknowledged my friend's presence I felt totally relaxed and at peace. Only when my intellect and analytical side dominated by attempting to judge that moment, did I feel confused and startled."

In chapter 12, she states that,

"I have an analytical mind that often times questions whether I am indeed receiving Divine Inspiration, or am simply being guided by my ego-driven self. If I am skeptical, my impulse is to dismiss the information."

From the perspective of someone less spiritually aware (me), these acknowledgements of left brained, analytical orientation are rather comforting. Near the beginning of the book, the author asks us to read from our heart, not our head. That's a beautiful sentiment and sage advice. Still, it's refreshing to know that, with this book about spirituality, we don't have to park our brains at the door!

The telling of her personal life engages the reader with its poignant beauty, humility and, and unmistakable resonance of truthfulness. As a child, raised in a strict Ukrainian Catholic tradition, she communicated with God during long church services and one day even heard his voice. Her dreadful encounters with the authoritarian priest in the context of her marrying a non-Catholic are compellingly told. Her subsequent descent into spiritual limbo and the loss of her close friend, which was intimated to her in a prophetic dream, are heartbreaking, but somehow they fit into a grander plan. The plan included her mystical encounter with the Light of God during the eulogy, with the knowledge and wisdom gained from that communion.

It is this wisdom that is conveyed so eloquently, with such love and intelligence, that is the most profound part of this magnificent book. This is presented in great detail, yet with manifest empathy and compassion. It's so beautifully written that it's possible for the reader to miss some of the main points, which are sprinkled liberally throughout the book. But even that's not a problem, because there's a concise synopsis of the main points at the end of the book. The message of unconditional love and acceptance from the Creator near the end of the book is one of this book's many highlights. What makes it even sweeter is the unmistakable conclusion that this book is a work of NON-fiction.

I recently gave this book to a friend's 8 year old before she went to a drama camp. Although she's quite adventurous, she did love the book as she honestly related to the story so well. She's asking for other titles. Cheers to the beginning of a great series?

In this unforgiving and stressful world of childraising, finally someone has the honesty to tell a story we have all (or soon will) experience. Hilarious, real and universal. I can't wait for the second installment!
