The book is like a general introduction to Model Airplanes. It does not focus on anything, I found it of no use at all. The pictures inside are worth seeing: the R/C equipment shown is so old that it's a real fun to see.

I do not recommend this book to anyone who is trying to learn to build or fly R/C airplanes. While the information on the basics of flying is pretty good, but all of the equipment shown is very dated, and the information on available equipment isn't very good either.

The book is very informative and can provide the rank beginner in the hobby with some good start up information. Although the book overall is really outdated it shows the basics of flying really well. The book does show alot of dated equipment one model shown in the book and recomended by the author has been out of production for over ten years and the radio equipment shown is also of the same vintage. I recomend this book to some one getting started or to someone interested in the history of the hobby. It is a ok book overall.

I felt the book touched on the basics but never really gave me anything to start my own business. Many of the pages were filled with large photograhphs instead of in-depth knowledge. I was hoping for a book that would tell it all so that I could go out and begin a faux painting business...with confidence. Not impressed.

If you are someone who isn't looking to necesarily start your own business, but rather, have a hobby you charge for on the side then this book is right for you. It won't, however, give insight on how to conduct yourself in a professional business manner, how to deal with clients, what business practices are necesary with regards to paperwork, etc., or how to go about advertising successfully.

I thought the book was definitely not geared for a professional faux finisher. It was way too general in nature to really help someone start a faux finishing business. It needs more specific information on business aspects. Most of the information given in the book was just common sense & did not warrant the purchase of this book. There are other books on the market that do a much better job of giving one the in depth information needed to start their own painting business. This book was, sadly, a big disappointment.

The Big Book of Sudoku for Dummies rates its puzzles as Easy, Tricky, Tough, and Diabolical. With enough patience, any sudoku puzzle, even one with only one initial number, can be solved. The Diabolical puzzles in this book, and in Heron's earlier collaboration with Edmund James ("Sudoku for Dummies") are in this category: they are truly (and trivially) diabolical. But whereas in the earlier Dummies book the Easy puzzles were mostly Easy, the Tricky were mostly Tricky, and the Tough were mostly Tough, in this volume, as the previous reviewer notes, these categorical assignments appear to have been made randomly.
As Wikipedia notes, sudokus of different difficulty "satisfy different psychological needs." Don't expect this book to satisfy your psychological needs. When you sit down with a puzzle from this book, you never know if it will take ten minutes or hours.

I have had reasonably good luck over the years with Dummies books, but this one, as I say, is a big disappointment. The instructions are minimal, and then the author leaves you to more or less "sink or swim" with his array of 600 puzzles. Even the easy ones are quite challenging, especially for a beginner such as myself. If you are new to Sudoku, or if you have gotten into it a bit but are still working to become reasonably competent, I definitely would not recommend this book. Look somewhere else for the guidance you need.

I bought my daughter the How to Tell Time Chicken Socks book and watch from her school book club. The book is fine, but the watch stopped working very quickly. I took the watch to a jewelry shop for a new battery and was told the watch did not work and could not be fixed. This item is definitely not worth the money.

My four year old received this as a gift. The book is really good, but the watch never worked. I thought maybe it had a bad battery, but after reading three other reviews on Amazon, I may not replace the battery. She can read the book, and practice on her learning clock.

We were really excited to get this book for our son who is just learning to tell time. It looked cool and we have had good experiences with other Klutz books. Unfortunately the watch never worked. We set the time, read through the book and practiced a bit. But the next morning when we looked again the hands on the watch had not moved at all.
It's too bad too since the pictures in the book matched the watch I think this would have been a helpful tool to teach our son to tell time. They should have invested as much time creating a good watch as they did creating a good book!

The smallest jolt from my son, while playing, caused the minute hand to break off. While the book is very concise and easy to follow, the broken watch makes the whole package unusable.

MOST DISAPPOINTED WHEN I OPENED THIS BOOK. THE WORDS ARE SO SMALL AND THE LINES SO CLOSE TOGETHER SOLVING THESE PUZZLES WILL BE VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT RECOPYING THEM ON A SHEET OF PAPER AND THAT IS NOT WHAT I DESIRE TO DO. WHEN I PURCHASE A BOOK LIKE THIS I WANT TO SOLVE PUZZLES NOT RECOPY THE BOOK. TOM

Attention cryptograms puzzle lovers! This is a small regular-sized paperback book and the puzzles are typed in cramped together type just like what you are reading and just as small. In order to do the puzzles, you will have to copy them on a separate page and then do them. You can't do them in the book like you can in a crossword puzzle.
Too bad about this book because it looks promising. There's a nice history of cryptograms in the beginning and the puzzles are grouped in interesting ways. I bought this book because I thought it would be in similar format to the usual large sized "Everything" books. It's not.

The print is so small and there is not enough space to write the letters either above or below the cryptograms. The book is utterly useless because of that and because I tried doing the first puzzle, I could not even return the book for a refund. It was not a cheap book and I feel as though I have wasted nearly $10.00 for it. The publishers obviously do not do cryptograms or they would have printed them in a format that allows place to write.

What a waste of money!!!! You couldn't do these puzzels with a magnifying glass! The publisher should be taken to task !
It looks well thought out in every other aspect.... but what good is it if you don't have a single space to solve in!

I have made daisy chain necklaces and thought I'd like to have a book with lots of designs. But all her designs use the same basic design and unfortunately I couldn't figure it out from her instructions at all. There are quite a few little points that she just leaves out. Also she tells you to follow the bead illustrated in red and then later in purple and for the life of me I couldn't figure out which one it was. So I can't recommend this book, sorry. However on the positive side, the publisher did a very attractive book. If you want to get a really good guide on this subject google Glenda Payseno's book which you can download. She doesn't limit herself to the one basic daisy chain as this book does. That said, I had to figure it out so finally found the old #1 book available on Amazon by Horace R. Goodhue, Indian bead-weaving patterns and there he has the correct explanation on p. 18 called dots. This is what Peters is trying to show and failing dismally. So now that I can do it, I just might go on to her projects.

Keep with Don Casey. This book was useless. There were no specific projects that were detailed from start to finish. There was one page about screw types which was heplful, but very basic. If you have ever done any work on your boat, you won't need or want this book. If you want to start to do some work, find another book, this won't help at all.

It is a shame that BN has taken it upon themselves to deeply edit and change the works of Joel Goldsmith. We students have no idea who they are, where they are or why they are making the changes they are making to Goldsmith's works. If you are serious about Goldsmith, avoid any BN publication and strive to find those works that have the least editing and changes.

It should be called "Here's some dumb stories that probably won't help."
This book is chock full of examples lacking both in explanation and instruction - it says what you need to do, but fails completely to explain either how or why. For example, the Handicapping section stresses the importance of handicapping. Well, any moderately intelligent person already knew that, but they don't know how, and that's really why they bought the book!
