This product was great! It was easy to make and looks just like the picture! (something that rarely seems to happen now adays)You can make it your personel bracelet with your friends faces, your hobbies, or whatever else you like to do. The book gives you 2 bracelets so you might want to buy extra bracelets and magnifying circles if you plan to make more than two. Great bracelet and lots of fun. Makes a great birthday gift...

I got this as a gift.In the book you have all these designs on round circles. There's hearts, flowers, cats, dogs etc.You get two bracelets. You pick the designs in the book that you want to use. There's six circles to fill on each bracelet. Also in the book is this blue page of glue dots.Okay first you have to peel a glue dot up from the page(it helps to have long nails or a tweezers for this make sure the glue is on the other side.Pick the circle on the bracelet you want to put the glue dot then press down real hard and stratch with your nail.Slowly peel back the paper on dot hopefully the glue stayed on the circle now your ready for your design dot just press it on the glue dot continue this step for all six circles on your bracelet. Then once this is done you go back to the glue dots and put one on each of the six designs once again you have to press and scratch leaving the glue on top of your designs then you put the bezel beads included with the book on top of each of the circles on your bracelet so now the designs pop. This is great for both big and small girls.

The Sling Chute is a great family toy. I have used it with my children ages 3, 12, and 14 and everyone has a blast with it. The open space required is smaller than for a Foxtail which we also have. On Christmas we had eight kids running around outside trying to catch it. Some of them finally figured out where the wind would take it.

My son saw this in a toy store and thought it looked really fun, so he finally just got it for his 7th birthday. When you stuff the parachute into the ball, and close the two halves of the ball, it feels like it's going to come apart before you even throw it into the air. It seems to hold together alright but it doesn't open until the ball is already half-way down, so you don't get much parachute flight. Overall, it's pretty good, but certainly not a must have, and my son hasn't pulled it back out since the first day.

Given the way the western frontier has been portrayed in countless books, movies and television episodes, most people have no idea what it was really like. This book lists 100 facts about the life and culture of the American west, and those facts are presented using text and detailed images. Most aspects of the life of the settlers is covered, from how towns grew up to what they did for recreation. There is very little coverage of the life of the Native Americans, and when it is done, the subject is largely the battles fought with elements of the U. S. Army.
While it is not possible to explore so many complex topics in any detail with a couple of paragraphs and an image, the author does the best that possibly could be done under such limitations. However, it would have been better if there had been more coverage of the Native American cultures.

This book is a reprint of a 1929 publication. As such, some of the construction techniques, particularly the making of glue and paste, will be "unexpectedly practical" for many modern readers.
These kite designs work as well today as they did in 1929. Substituting modern materials like Tyvek house wrap and packing tape make these designs stronger and quite a bit easier to build.
This is a good activity book for parents and children.

This book is about baseball memorabilia. It shows stuff that people who love baseball collect. Collectors collect baseball cards, trophies, gloves, shirts, and many other things. The book includes baseball treasures that many people have not seen before. It is interesting to read, because it also has photographs that show you what the author is talking about. The author writes about the history behind the items and gives tips on how readers can become collectors. For example, one of the rarest cards is the Honus Wagner card; it was issued by the Tobacco Company between 1909 and 1911.
My favorite section is the trophy collections. I liked looking at the World Series rings won by the New York Yankees. "Baseball Treasures" is great for kids who love baseball, or for anyone interested in collecting baseball memorabilia.

64 full color pages, 5 page gallery. Color step-by-step directions for making 1 big bowl. I don't think this is for the beginner, it still scares me (even without the bleeding finger safety tips). Good techniques and I learned a lot, but it was too involved for my first bowl. I'll keep it in my library for later. Contents: Sharpening, Starting from a log (chain saw required), roughing out green wood, [wait while wood drys], turning the bowl, sanding with discs using a drill, building a jig for turning the foot, finishing (includes Judy's Low-tech, fun-n-easy-to-make, so-nontoxic-you-could-eat... finish recipe).

In Capoeira: Game! Dance! Martial Art!, George Ancona tells the story of Capoeira by following a classroom of students at the Mandiga Academy in Oakland, California. Kids reading the book are sure to get a kick out of the Portuguese nicknames of the students in the classroom from Reizinho (little king), to Perereca (tree frog), to Princesa (princess) to the name of the instructor, Malandro (scoundrel). In fact, Ancona uses a number of Portuguese words throughout the book when talking about Capoeira. He even includes a glossary with a pronunciation key in the back of the book for kids who want to practice speaking the words. Through pictures and Ancona's detailed descriptions these students teach different moves and techniques as well as names of traditional musical instruments used to play music during Capoeira games.
Ancona also takes us to Brazil and shows the impact of Capoeira on the Brazilian culture today. From the slums and beaches to actual Capoeira academies, we see vibrant photographs of kids of all ages and walks of life practicing this amazing art. A few years ago, I spent four months teaching English in Brazil and was fortunate enough to see Capoeira being played on the streets. While nothing can compare to seeing it in person, Ancona's book gives us a vivid picture and interesting history of the art.
