My 3 and 5 year olds loved this little set of stationery. Adorable, and great gift. Nice variety of things included - good quality. Enough in it that they don't use it all up in one sitting.

I have been reading this book to my son since he was 2. He is now 8 and still finds this book fun. I know that it will be his favorite when he is older and the memories that we have created with this book will never be forgotten.

I have given this book to all my nieces and nephews, friends and to several children as a birthday gift. Everyone loves its!! Hearing a child asked to be read it again and again makes it that much more special! Watching their expressions as they discover the story and create a dragon is priceless!
Highly Recommend!

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that one can cut small pieces of paper out, decorate them, and staple them into a cute little book. But buy this book on how to do it anyway. The photo art alone is worthwhile for the inspiration. The book also has a number of templates for cute ideas that one might not think of, like a book that looks like a little purse, and unusual ideas, like using a door hinge as a cover. In addition, as always, the book is a kit in itself and has perfect instructions and materials (minus scissors and a stapler)for getting kids started. The papers included are varied and attractive. As an adult, I am having fun with this book and have used it as a springboard for my own creative additions.

A fascinating and highly detailed account of the author's approach to making fly rods. The book was originally hand lettered and self-published. This edition, published by a commercial publisher, retains the hand lettering and author's hand drawn illustrations. The amount of time that went into just preparing the book--never mind all the research into technique for rod building--is staggering. I found the level of detail to be almost overwhelming for just a read-through. I'll look forward to moving the book into my work shop where all the author's attention to detail will be truly appreciated.

I will offer one word of caution. The title of the book was just a little misleading. I am a woodturner, and in part looked forward to figuring out how to use traditional turning tools and a lathe to craft a flyrod. In fact, the lathe is used to support and rotate the rod blank so that the builder can use sanding blocks to achieve the correct taper. Not quite as elegant as turning tools, but probably a lot more practical on such thin stock.

All in all an excellent and interesting book.

Martial Arts Training Diary for Kids

Great for enthusiastic children

The Martial Arts Training Diary for Kids is an excellent book for children ages 9 to 11 who are avid martial artists. There are fun activities, such as crossword puzzles and word searches. The book includes Korean, Chinese, and Japanese terminology. There are great stories about other athletes who overcame to become excellent in their sports. The diary segments following the stories get kids to think and interpret the meaning of the stories--so they can relate to them personally. The sections on goals and progress charts are a good start, but they could use some improvement to make them more understandable for children. There is also a chapter on performing kata or forms; this segment has an area to write down forms and instructors' comments. The section on sparring is well written, and contains an area to record tournaments. I think that this book is definitely aimed toward the competitive young martial artist--as the book was written by a taekwondo instructor.

Complete information on every Grand Prix race Mercedes-Benz competed in during the period, backed up by excellent, large format, photographs. I wished for more technical information (there is some), but it gets five stars anyway.

The book that first inspired my interest in gambling, this is the best text ever written on gambling by an Englishman. Black details methods to win at roulette by locating mechanically imperfect wheels, at poker by skill and mathematics, and at blackjack and baccarat by the application of "card-counting" techniques. He also debunks gambling fallacies. Throughout the work, Black displays a perceptive knowledge of the mathematics of gambling, which he conveys simply and with genuine enthusiasm. For those people who think "you can't win at gambling", this book might be a real eye-opener.

Awesome Scientific Information

Tim Gardom with Angela Milner as Scientific Adviser have included comprehensive data that is known about dinosaurs. The pictures of real fossil skeletons, drawings, and even escavation sites are very interesting and informative. I like how he has arranged the book into categories (8 in all) and then followed up with an appendix, glossary, further reading, and a complete index of this book. He gives an in-depth history of fossil discoveries, while giving explanations from different cultural viewpoints about the bones and what kind of animals they might be. I can see how the Chinese came up with the dragon idea! Our grandchildren love all books about dinosaurs, but they really like this one. I found in my research that it is recommended by a paleontologist as a definite library selection for middle to high school budding paleontologists. If a person in the career of paleontologist likes the book, I think it is a must have! Thanks for this opportunity to review the awesome book!
