North Carolina Books

This 2 volume set was a great asset to me while working for law firms this summer. Whenever I had a question regarding a particuar aspect of civil procedure I would look here first. Surprisingly enough, I consistently found cases directly on point.

North Carolina Crimes is the most important reference book in my arsenal of law enforcement materials. NC Crimes is very easy to read and follow, and is the authority when it comes to assessing elements of crimes in North Carolina. I highly recommend NC Crimes to anyone working in the Criminal Justice field, or studying criminal law in North Carolina. I use NC Crimes every day, and find it to be an invaluable resource.

I grew up reading Jerry Bledsoe in the Greensboro Daily News. I enjoyed his columns then and I enjoyed NC Curiosities even more! I thought I knew a lot about the Tarheel State until I poured over this book! It made me want to go back on a pilgrimage to visit all the crazy places I never knew existed and to re-visit all the places I know so well, but which apparently have curious secrets!

This is an excellent overview of NC symbols. If your class or child(ren) are studying NC history this is a great supplement to have. Or even if you are studying all 50 states, this would be a great way to remember some facts about NC.

What a great research effort...well-written, also. Valuable not only as a reference book, but a read that can keep your interest as the film industry unfolded in the Old North State!

Through prose, pictures and poems, this book gives one the "feel" of truely being a North Carolinian. Even if you have never visited the state, you can laugh, cry and dream as Charles Kuralt paints picture words of his home. A lovely relaxing read.

I have not seen a book like this done about the lighthouses of North Carolina - or any lighthouse book for that matter. It is easy to read as well as a pleasure to look at with all the spectacular photography. This book is not a fluff piece. The information contained in it is interesting and goes beyond the ordinary. It links the history of the lighthouses to the very origins of The Unites States of America. (and the book looks real good on my coffee table, too).

This was a very informative book. I gave this to my friend for his birthday. We sat down with our other friend and planned out places to go. It was very informative about the places and even listed the town I live in.
I recommend it to anyone who likes day trips or learning about different places.

This photographic portfolio of North Carolina emphasizes the natural beauty of the state, with breathtaking images of everything from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the sandy Atlantic beaches. Some images of the cities are also included. The images were carefully selected from over twenty different photographers. Most of the images were shot on large format film (4 x 6) resulting in a high level of resolution in the printed reproductions. This is one of the best books of its kind - and I have purchased quite a few.
