Great Intro to Important Connecticut Events

I found this book to be both flawlessly and fluidly written. The author has perfectly captured these legal events that set both state and national precedent. The appendix gives the actual court rulings and thus provides excellent backup to the chapters. One important thing about this book is that it reads so well. The reader will easily be caught up in what happens to Prudence Crandall or how New Haven ignited as the Black Panther trial took place. You can almost see the this book as a movie about Connecticut incidents that garnered national attention.

It is ubelivable that this could happen, even to a disabled person. It shows that we are not innocent till proven guilty, in fact the opposite is true

This was clearly a labor of love for Dr. Frost. He winds his way through the entire history of the Country Club of Farmington and dots his tale with anecdote and data. It is an excellent work to learn about the sociology and growth of the game of golf and the country club scene as we enter the era of Tiger. This would be an interesting study for a sociology or history or civics class or just an enjoyable read for devotees of golf.

I have read Ira Neimarks book twice. First for enjoyment and the for forsight!
Mr Neimark talks about how retail is constantly evolving and if you do not stay one step ahead, no matter what position you hold you can fall two steps behind. He gives first hand accounts of meetings with the leaders of the industry and how they helped shape the important role that retail plays in our country's economic development.
A strong and knowledgeable businessman who will take any company that he works for to the top along with anyone who wants to join him, he shows the reader that retail is fun, exciting and a tough business to be in, but with commitment and quality to excellence one can achieve their goals.
This is a must read for all associates at all levels in the retail field and for all professors in a retail curriculum.

Cuentos from the House on West Connecticut Avenue is filled with stories that allowed me to see the American experience through the eyes of a family new to this country, and it is written with enough skill to make it easy for me to feel at home with all of them. Recommended for anyone who enjoys remembering (or would like to be reminded of) why family is among the greatest blessings we have.

It had been years since lovely Lois Fleming had seen Shandy Stowe...years since they'd been thrown together in an affair that had been impossible, yet unforgettable. But now things were different as they come face to face in a small Connecticut town that seethes with secret scandal, shame and guilt. Lois has been sent to ghost write the memoirs of a famous, well loved newspaper columnist who wrote human interest stories. At first it is thought he died of a heart attack. Then Lois decides it has to be murder, but who would murder the most beloved man in the U.S. Set in the 1950's. A really good story that moved right along.
