67 different Top 10 lists are included ranging from best players (by position); draft bargains and busts; biggest, smallest, oldest, and youngest players; and even the craziest fans. I bought this for my husband, who is a hockey broadcaster and trivia buff. He knew some of the stuff, but still laughs at the stuff he didn't know or forgot he knew. I like the explanations of players nicknames and stories about crazy owners. It's fun to pick up and read a list or two. It is indexed if you are looking for a certain player. Lots of fun for the fan!

Following the success of his first trivia book devoted to hockey, author Don Weekes was at it again, publishing another hockey trivia book.

Did you know that the late Pelle Lindbergh of the Philadelphia Flyers was the first NHL goalie to put a water bottle on top of his net? Where were you when the Montreal Canadiens allowed the Calgary Flames win the Stanley Cup on Forum ice in 1989? I'll bet you didn't know that Debbie Wright was the NHL's first female scout.

If you don't have this book in your hockey trivia book collection, this is a must have!

When the Alden Panthers find out their future star left-winger is a girl most of the team is mad. "We just can't have a girl on our team," one of the players, Josh, said. "All we have to do is treat her like a girl. We won't check her because we'er afraid to hurt her. We won't joke around with her because we're scared we might hurt her feelings. Once Coach sees how differently we traet her, he'll bench her for sure. Maby even cut her from the team." In the first game the coach put Chris in Josh's position as first line left wing, and Josh was put back to defense. Chris helps make some really great plays and even scores a goal, but none of the Panthers acknowledge her. She "looked like she was ready to sock someone."

A few weeks later, during lunch, Chris announces that she is sick of everyone thinking she is a boy. Later that day, before the game, the announcer announces "Christina" instead of Chris. The other team will not touch her because she is a girl. The coach from the other team files a complaint that it's not fair to have a girl on the team because they can't chack her. The head of the conference says that the Panthers broke conference rules and they might have to forfeit the whole season. The Panthers joing together and fight for Chris to stay a Panther, and for girls to be able to play hockey.

The Ice Age Returns is a fantastic look at Nashville's triumphant first season in the NHL. I am a huge fan of Nashville, and this book was a fantastic look at some of the games I missed. It has great photography, great reviews of the games, and great player bios. I'd suggest this book for anyone who likes the Predators.

This book was terrific. But everything about John is terrific! The pictures were good and the information was too, even though I knew it all already. John is the greatest guy ever and I want to marry him. The end.

My kids loved this book!

My son borrowed the book from a friend of his and I ended up having to buy our own copy. The 'off ice lessons' made both my sons think about what they were doing with their lives. The book is written with the kids in mind and it deals with the everyday challenges that they face in any sport. I have to admit that I really enjoyed reading the book myself. It was fast paced but definitely got the author's points across. I wish there were more books like this one out there that made learning life's lessons a little easier.

This is the best guide to goaltending I have ever read! I often find myself refering to this book in practice sessions as well as in games. Ian Young expalins each and every situation with detail, so as not to leave the reader guessing. Not only does this book provide solid instruction, but it also focuses on the mental aspect of the game, a definite key to minding the twine. Young's references to his playing days makes the instruction that more understandable. A definite plus! Every goaltender should pick up a copy of LORDS OF THE RINK today!

This is a great book. It contains 75 best players, as well as coaches, from late 1920s to 2002. All favorite players are here in this book, including Darryl Sittler, Syl Apps, Mats Sundin, and Curtis Joseph. Coach Punch Imlach is also in it. It has both color and black & white photographs. It is for all Leafs fans who bleed blue & white and also for any hockey fans.
