Minor Hockey To NHL: Parents Survival Guide, is a very interesting and informative read. Choosing a coach for your children, becoming aware of the referees impact on you as a parent and your children as players. It teaches vital skills in motivating your child to go out and have fun, and enjoy the time spent with their friends on the ice. This book discusses the different goals and dreams children have in relation to hockey, and how to help them reach their goals as a parent. I highly recommend Minor Hockey To NHL: Parents Survival Guide, to all parents who have kids of any age playing hockey or interested in starting to play this fun sport.

i really thought it was cool how they took all the New York Times articles about team USA and compiled them into a book. This book helped me relive the 1980s us olympic hockey teams journey even though i hadn't been born yet its very short to and can be read in about an hour

We read this book in our third grade class and we really liked it because it was funny, happy & gross. This wonderful book shows not to be mad at your classmates.Lucy Tinker had five diffrent colors of finger nail polish on her nails. Marvin caused a lot of trouble just because he didn't trust his classmates. You should read this because it's cool and funny and you'll laugh.

I found this book to be pretty much complete history of the relationship between hockey players, team managers, agents and team owners and the NHL. It shows how players salary got from being unadequate to what some people can say ridiculously high. The author definitely knows the subject and knows many people that took part in making NHL history. Although I knew most of the facts, the author puts a human face to it, narrating this through the eyes of people that played a central part in making it all happen, which makes this book a great read. I especially liked the fact that author tries to give an objective account. What's more he gives in the end of the book a few possible resolutions for upcoming lockout, one of which I found very convincing. Great book for anybody who loves the game of hockey and would like to understand the background to what looks like will be lockout for 2004 season.

Minnesota's wonderful hockey history comes to life like never before in Ross Bernstein's newest book, "More... Frozen Memories," the updated and expanded sequel to the 1999 regional best-seller, "Frozen Memories."
With nearly 800 images, the book is both entertaining as well as insightful. Featured in it are literally hundreds of this past century's greatest professional, senior, amateur and high school teams, along with countless biographies and stories of their star players. While some of the stories are riveting, intriguing and even heart-breaking, others are downright hilarious.
From Roseau to Rochester, and from Warroad to White Bear Lake, it's all here. Not only is there a complete history of Minnesota's beloved High School Tournament (both boys and girls) there are also feature chapters and vignettes on the histories of the Wild, North Stars, Fighting Saints, Minnesota Moose, Duluth Hornets, Eveleth Reds, Minneapolis Millers, St. Paul Saints and Warroad Lakers, among others.
There are also chapters on nearly all of Minnesota's college and university teams, including the Minnesota Gophers, UM-Duluth Bulldogs, St. Cloud State Huskies, Minnesota State Mavericks, Bemidji State Beavers, as well as all of the MIAC schools. In addition, there are chapters on the evolution of the women's game, in-line skating, junior hockey, junior and community college hockey, the 1960 and 1980 gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic teams, and so much more.
From John Mariucci to Moose Goheen, and from Herbie Lewis to the Hanson Brothers, "More... Frozen Memories" truly celebrates one of Minnesota's greatest treasures -- the sport and lifestyle of hockey.

Morgy Makes His Move is a really good book, so when Morgy Coast to Coast came out I was eager to read it. It lived up to and surpassed my expectations. Sequels have a way of dissapointing, but this one is actually better than the first one.
The thing I love about Morgy is the realness of him and his world. The author perfectly captures the talk of Moms and aunts and the everything-happening-at-once atmosphere of a family with three kids. The book is filled with perfect details about ordinary things like elementary school, babies, dogs and cats, New England, and being a kid. They're so accurate that they make me see those ordinary things fresh in my head, with a vividness that is rare and welcome in any novel. The clarity of her descriptions made me smile in recognition, and sometimes laugh out loud--parts of this book are really funny.
Another thing that I really like about this book is its realistic goodness and insight. Often, goodness in kid's books is made to look boring or preachy or weak. Those are problems that both Morgy books avoid beautifully. Morgy is fully human--there's no doubt about that--and part of being human is wanting to be good. In Morgy's world, as in the real world, good is normal and interesting.

I am a Red Wings fan living in exile in Pennsylvania, and this book just about made me cry. Detroit is the best hockey town in the US, and this book tells you why. Motor City Muscle is probably as biased as I am, but the story it tells of the early achievements of the team are detailed and enthralling. Even if you didn't get to watch these guys play, by the end of the book you will know the greats of Red Wings history like they are your best friends.

If you're expecting a sports manga, you're going to be dissappointed.
Very funny with similarities to the earliest parts of Kare Kano, but without any serious aspects.
Quite funny, nice artwork.

THe only shortcoming is that book is written mostly to, and for Canadians; which sometimes leaves the Rest Of the World out in the cold as to inside humor.
Great book, buy it - and share it with your teammates!
