This book is great! It provides a sentimental and personal insight into the Pens' 1992 Stanley Cup season, complete with many interviews with the players. It is obvious that Molinari cares about the Penguins because of the emotion that this book can bring out in any Penguins fan. A great book to read to relive the early 1990s dominance of the Penguins.

I really like hockey, and it gave me a feeling for every goal made against them and by them; like you were actually on the ice. I had a lot of fun reading this book. The characters seemed real. Tristan, age 12.
Note from his dad: I did not read the book, but it sure held my son's attention, and this is a young person who really likes sports and DOES not like to read.

Solid Gold Treatment for America's Blue Collar Hockey Team

This beautifully illustrated book captures the essence of a memorable era of Bruins and hockey history. Among the players featured are the likes of the incomparable Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito, Gerry Cheevers, Terry O'Reilly, Cam Neely, Ray Bourque, and the swashbuckling Bruins squad led by head coach Don Cherry known as the "Lunchpail AC." Longtime Bruins team photographer Steve Babineau culled through hundreds of thousands of negatives shot over four decades to assemble this definitive portrait of hockey's original blue collar franchise. Babineau's photographs are perfectly complimented by Rob Simpson's informed and entertaining text. Since both authors are hockey professionals and diehard fans their enthusiasm for the Bruins is matched only by their skill as chroniclers of the team's colorful history. This book belongs on the same shelf as past hockey pictorial histories by photographers such as Harold Barkley and Denis Brodeur and is a must purchase for any serious hockey fan...all for the price of a second balcony seat.

This book has an English version - "Blood Sweat and Hockey." In short, recommend it highly. This book gives a very detailed and frank account of Salming's journey through the Swedish amateur leagues, and how his move to the Maple Leafs came about. He also discusses how he meshed into the North American system, and describes some of the travails of other Swedish players who also came across at about the same general time period. He tells about relations with Punch Imlach and Ballard, and international play. Salming also discusses the emergence of the WHA and the attitudes many players had about jumping onto that boat. He goes into the mental aspects of the game, and relations with coaches.
I have a great curiosity about what it's really like to be behind the scenes in the NHL, and this book really fit the bill in that regard. He took the time, was very detailed, describing how the systems work. Five stars from me!

Estelle Salata really knows her sports. She's combined a heartwarming story about a boy coping with his dad's "downsizing" with some fast paced in line skating action.

Boston Bruins: Celebrating 75 Years is an incredible collection of photographs, anecdotes, history of the players and the arenas they played in, the Stanley Cup wins, and the hockey greats that have worn the spoked B. Any Bruins fan that has followed the team for years, or a new fan wanting to know the team's illustrious history should read this book. Divided into several chapters, each detailing different aspects of the organization, it is a very engrossing read, filled with tons of information for fans, young or old.

It's the start of the new hockey season for the Icehogs. Brady Brady and all his friends are sure that this is going to be the best season yet. At the first practice, everyone is ready to work hard to get ready for their first game against the Hounds.
But Chester the goalie isn't there. In fact, Chester doesn't show up for the game against the Hounds either. It goes without saying that the Icehogs lose, very badly. The team members start to wonder why Chester wasn't at the game. Why hadn't he told anyone that he wasn't going to show up?
Things only get worse for the team as Kev overhears Chester talking the next day at school. Chester tells his teacher something about being on the B team. Could it really be true? Did Chester abandon his friends to join another hockey team? Brady Brady and the rest of the Icehogs are about to get an important lesson in friendship, loyalty, and dependability.

We all know that Brady is well meaning. He absolutely loves to play hockey and be with his friends. Unfortunately, sometimes Brady's passion gets him into a little bit of trouble.
Such is the case in Brady Brady and the Big Mistake. Brady is excited about having his friends come over and play a little shinny on his backyard rink. He's made everything perfect. Then, he comes up with what seems like a great idea to make the game even better. His Dad has a special puck, signed by none other than Bobby Orr himself, sitting in a case on his desk. Even though he gets a strange feeling in his stomach, Brady decides to take the puck without asking and use it in the game. You just know there's going to be trouble.
