"Remebering Bobby Orr" is a great little book you will cherish, and a great gift for any young kid who loves the game. Much of this has been said before, but true fans can never get enough of # 4! Great Pictures, and hopefully someday a definitive biograpy will get written about the man who changed the face of hockey, and began the modern era.

THIS BOOK DOES A GOOD JOB DESCRIBING THE CAREER OF THE GOLDEN JET. IT LACKS GREAT DETAIL BUT MAKES UP FOR IT WITH SOME GOOD INTERVIEWS, PICTURES AND ALOT OF FACTS I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT BOBBY'S PRIVATE LIFE. A MUST READ FOR FANS OF THE GOLDEN JET AND THOSE WHO LOVE HOCKEY. THE AUTHOR CRAIG MACINNIS GETS A HAT TRICK FOR THIS SIMPLE BUT ENTERTAINING READ.

The "Remembering..." series transcends normal biography by showcasing top quality journalist's recollections with statistics and insights into the player and their game.

Remembering the Golden Jet is no different. From Bobby Hull's early days playing minor hockey, to his watershed defection from the NHL to play for Winnipeg, a move that would rock the hockey world and force the league to re-evaluate it's salary policy forever.

For Blackhawks fans this book charts the progress of a player who was feared by goalies everywhere for his blistering slapshot.

I have read every Bobby Hull book out there, and nothing comes close in it's insights, in it's recognition of Hull as a true Legend of the game, as this beautifully designed book.

I can't recommend it highly enough.

THIS IS THE STORY OF MAURICE RICHARD FORMER NHL GREAT. THE STORY IS VERY SHORT SIMPLE AND VERY EASY TO READ. I REALLY ENJOYED READING OF THE ROCKET'S NUMEROUS HEROICS AND ALSO A BIT OF HIS FAMILY LIFE. THE BOOK IS LOADED WITH MANY GREAT PHOTOS OF MAURICE ON AND OFF THE ICE. I SUGGEST THIS BOOK FOR ALL CANADIAN FANS AND FOR THE NOSTALGIC HOCKEY FAN. A MUST READ.

This spicy little book of collected essays on one of the greatest hockey players ever belongs on any true hockey fan's bookshelf. The Rocket was more than just a man, or a hockey player. He was an institution, as evidenced by the recent state funeral for our lost hockey great. The Rocket harkens back to a day when the fighting spirit of a single player could enliven the hearts and minds of a generation of fans. First-rate!

What a find! This book is such a welcome departure from the tired and unsinspired pages filling most other hockey books out there. It is intelligently written and you can't help but feel Moore's passion for the game as you read- whether you have followed the game for years or are new to the sport, this book will definitely speak to you. I am an avid hockey fan, but this book offered me a fresh perspective on the game I thought I already knew very well. Moore presents thorough and surprisingly balanced arguments in ways I had not thought of before... Highly recommend this thoughtful read.

This is a must read! Not only is Moore astute, engaging, and gorgeous-(check out that author photo!), but his passion for the game is palpable and contagious. His frustrations with the state of the game, rather than rant-like, are constructively channeled. Moore offers many realistic and intelligent potential solutions to a number of problematic issues in hockey today. This compelling read makes a perfect gift for hockey loving husbands and wives alike!

This book shaped my adoloescence. It's "under dog wins the day" theme combined with its innocent context made this my favourite book as a child. I highly recomend it to all young readers.

A classic from my youth

It had been a long time since I first saw a copy of Scrubs on Skates. I grew up in Winnipeg and went to Daniel Mac, the school the protagonist is forced to transfer from. As a kid, I just thought everybody had books that were set in their community. Some 25 years later, as a teacher in Canada's Nunavut Territory, I rediscovered how great this book is through the eyes of my students. It is the classic root for the under dog/coming of age tale. The characters are well written, the plot engaging, and it is still an enjoyable read. And I must confess to getting a thrill from the fact that it is set not just in the city but in the actual neighborhood that I grew up in. Excellent work from rocker Neil Young's daddy Scott. I highly reccommend this book.

You know when you read a really good story, how difficult it is
to put the book down?

Well, you don't expect to have the feeling when you read a book about financial planning and wealth creation do you?

Yet, that's just what happened to me. I picked up my copy of James' book and couldn't put it down until reading the very last page. Since then, I've read it over several more times and found some things I missed.

Bringing money in hasn't been the problem for me, keeping more
of it certainly has - James' has some great advice and practical techniques that worked for him - retired at 38 - NICE!

Highly recommended.

Jeff

This book is a must-have for serious field hockey players. It provides all the information you need to get in shape and stay in shape. It provides instruction and advice that every field hockey player should know about training. Field hockey isn't just about the game, it's about the months of practise and training leading up to it as well. If you are serious about the sport, I would buy it.

Use it in the summer - Use it in the winter -

Just get this book! It will have you in great shape for the season. I can 'check' much harder now, but more importantly I can skate faster, and my shots have more velocity. You'll see what i mean after a few weeks of following the hockey specific programs in this book.

I'm a multi sport athlete who trains all year round regardless of what sport I play. I bought a few of these Ultimate Guide to Weight Training books, and they definitely helped me train specifically for the different sports that I play. Then about a year later I received an email from amazon that there was a new edition out. These upgraded editions are even better than the originals, with more articles and a lot more sport-specific information. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who plays a lot of sports or wants to specifically focus on training for one sport in particular.
