This book was great for introducing the nickel to young children. There was valuable info on the coin, but the text was not
overwhelming for young learners. It definately is geared for kindergarten and first graders!
Here's my two cents!

I love this entire series of books. As a elementary school Media Specialist, I am constantly on the look-out out for excellent
resources for students and teachers! This series offers large type, photographs to illustrate the content, information at
a lower reading level -- but the information contained is exactly what students need to know! Close-up pictures of the back
and front of the coins are especially nice!
These books are ideal for students with an interest in money; reading specialists in schools; and elementary media centers.
The only drawback is that I can only find the series in paperback, and not library or hardcover editions.

okay, so i haven't actually read the book itself, but i have read some of the articles the book is a compilation of, and they
were insightful glimpses into a world i know very little about: the 24 hour convenient store. if the book is truly anything
like the articles, it will be worth reading.

Exactly what it promises to be, "Numerology for Beginners" is an introduction to the study of numerology. Written in a basic,
easy to understand manner, a complete novice can start examining the implications of numbers in their life right away. The
single digit method of numerology is discussed and interpretations provided for each number and aspect. Each of your most
influential numbers is examined as to how it affects character traits, energy levels, opportunities, and relationships. Gerie
Bauer also discusses the vowel and consonant interpretation of names and how these can be used to understand your personality
or the personality of others. For those interested in a basic introduction into numerology "Numerology for Beginners" is
a recommended read.

I got this book a couple of years ago as a present from my godmother. She wanted to give me something that would give me a
good grasp of astrology without the usual complicated calculations and compound numbers. This was perfect.
Some numerologists may complain about the lack of compound numbers like 11, 22, 33, etc., but for a beginner this information is cumbersome and can lead to errors in calculating a numerology chart. I think it's much easier to learn the numbers as a 2, 4, 6, and so on. I've never found that I got an off calculation for a person who had compound numbers in their name through using this book. My own name, for example, has a compound number because V=22 in most numerology books.
A terrific thing about this book is that it breaks down numerology both by name and by birthdate. So you can find out information about a person whether or not you have their birth info. She also gives you "quickie" methods for learning about a person through the first vowel in their name.
My only complaint about this book is that the relationship compatibility section is short. However, most of the other sections are detailed and you can get a pretty good grasp of the basics.
I'd say that you can benefit from this book whether or not you are a beginner, but if you prefer to study compound numbers, you should look elsewhere. I have to say that I've bought some other numerology books that were way more complicated and which had these confusing calculations to figure out the energy of a day in the future or surrounding a relationship in the future. This book keeps everything as simple as possible. You'll still have to do the calculations and learn the value of letters, but the author explains each calculation clearly and gives an example so that you can see if you are doing it right.
Have fun!!

On the Money Journal by C. Stephen Guyer is a useful and entertaining collection of articles selected from Mr. Guyer's regular
column in the Denver Business Journal. The articles deal with a broad spread of money topics, ranging from acquiring and
borrowing money to having fun with money, from the amusing - holiday spending and current currency catch phrases to the serious
- dealing with taxes and bankruptcy.
Readers ranging from average individuals to financial professionals will all find interesting, current, and helpful information. Small business owners will find good advice, as will CFOs. Home business entrepreneurs and cube dwellers will each benefit from reading this book.
There is a wealth of references to websites for readers who want to delve deeper into the various topics, also regular mail addresses and contact information, including entities such as government agencies and investor research. One can even find a link to the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce where you can learn all about the often mentioned but seldom understood topic of Swiss bank accounts.
The articles are thorough and well researched. The writing style has the clear and sharp characteristics one would expect to find in a respected and widely read business periodical. The information is well balanced, containing both practical knowledge and enough background to fill in all the pieces of the money puzzle.

I have read this book from cover to cover and found it to be an EYE OPENER for things I did not now about in our society dealing
with money and the world systems of government. This book is actually a spiritual awareness reading for the evolution of mankind.
After reading it I found myself on a daily basis more aware of the government system and of my own personal existence in relation
to the way all of mankind thinks, or as the books calls it mass consciousness of the planet.
I recommend this book as a must read for everyone that uses money, and that is all of us on the planet.

I connected with the words of Joline Godfrey. Her evaluation on what women are doing in business, helps all of us see the
opportunities to do things differently. The first chapter where she talks about the right stuff struck home - women needing
connection with others, seeing people as whole individuals, wanting balance in life, seeing business as a creative outlet,
are all principles she dives into - they make sense for those seeking to more than financial goals. There are many bottom
lines in life - the women business owners the book reviews get it and are designing business with a bigger picture in mind.
Thank you Joline for shifting my thinking - I was already headed in that direction - your book help me get there a little
faster.

This book was a life changer for me. My entire paradygm shifted about my own potential to be an entrepreneur after reading
this book. It was instrumental in my decision to leave my public school teaching position and start my own business. I found
the specific stories of women's successes and struggles encouraging. I had often given up on ideas once problems started to
arise, but after reading this book, I adopted the mantra "Every problem has a solution." It has helped me through many a seemingly
crisis situation. I have reread it several times. The most valuable piece for me was the perspective that we women can do
something that we love, have fun AND make a living. My husband also enjoyed this book, so it's not just for women.

George Rosenberg's informative manual on how to successfully participate in carry back financing, is the best that I have
come across. It provides instruction specific enough to allow the reader to immediately begin to apply the principles learned.
Mr. Rosenberg offers a no-nonsense approach to this little known, and potentially profitable [for all parties involved!] area
of real estate finance. Highly recommended.

Dry Bones Press has nothing in writing from the authors permitting them to sell this book and to keep all proceeds from it. The authors object strongly but do not seem to be able to prevent this pirating practice.

It appears that very few people really understand the dark side of bankruptcy. Yes, there's a good reason for a bankruptcy
law, but it's not a panacea and there are many negative implications that people don't understand. This booklet really helps
the reader make a more informed decision, and may help a lot of people avoid making a bad mistake. Bottom line? Only people
who simply can never reasonably repay their debt should file bankruptcy. Nothing's free, and there are prices for bankruptcy.

This remarkable work, published in 1900, is Georg Simmel's magnum opus given the fact that it contains most key ideas of this
charismatic and versatile thinker. It is bulky, and at points very difficult to penetrate through, since the author's literary
style -although very enjoyable- tends to abstract from the clarity of the point at hand. This work may be seen as a supplement
to Marx's "Capital". Simmel deals with money at various levels of abstraction. He discusses money from an economic, philosophical,
sociological and psychological perspective in an admirable attempt to develop via the concept of money a modern world-view.
Chapter One is the most difficult since it explores Simmel's theory of value, using BOTH classical political economy and
the Marxian theory of value. Then, he proceeds in order to develop it as a symbol of a relational epistemology (drawing heavily
on Kant, Hegel and Spinoza). The following parts of the book associate money with exchange as a sociological category of interaction
and display Simmel at his very best in the lengthy discussion of money in relation to personal values (dowry, prostitution,
bribery etc.). Additionally, Simmel explores the axiological dislocations that take place in human consciousness and fail
to address correctly the means-ends aspect of money's relationship to commodities. In this wonderful section, Simmel discloses
the alienating attitudes of extravagance, greed, avarice, cynicism and indifference. Last, but not least, Simmel connects
money to modernity pulling -albeit elliptically- all the threads of the previous arguments together. A book of great sociological
and philosophical interest, full of dazzling dialectics, free of dogmatism and definitely one of humanity's most complete
statements on "money"!
