These days, it seems that everyone's had an experience with buying or selling on eBay. In the book eBay's Secrets Revealed, Dan Blacharski gives the reader everything he or she needs to know the set up and run a successful eBay business. Competition is fierce in the eBay business, states Blacharski, and any edge can translate into bigger profits for a business. This book gives you the edge that other successful eBayers may not want you to know - the secrets of the trade.

Blacharski starts at the beginning by describing the origins of eBay, and gives a comprehensive look at all aspects of running the business, from finding products through business accounting. Blarcharski also describes the technology that will make your business a success, such as anti-spam software, auction tools, photography editing software, and working with search engines.

The step-by-step guide is so encouraging that it seems easy to get started selling. There can be many pitfalls to running a business where the customer and seller never meet, and the product isn't seen until after it is purchased. Blacharski reassuringly addresses common problems and helps the business owner avoid trouble through proper planning.

The book has a colorful, attractive layout. Sidebars offer interviews and tips from the pros, checklists, and warnings. A logically-arranged table of contents steps the reader through the process. The chapters are clear and free of jargon, and the reader can easily jump to the topic he or she needs the most. Cute graphics are sprinkled throughout the book, and crisp photos end each chapter.

A new eBay business owner, or someone considering the business, will need this book. All you need to learn to start selling is addressed within the pages, and at less than 300 pages, it is an easy read.

Ebay's Secrets Revealed
By Dan W. Blacharski
5 out of 5 stars

In the 21st century, almost every American with internet access has either searched Ebay or at least heard of Ebay. There are multiple books out that have a reoccurring theme, which is "make money, make money," but that is about all that is to them. This book not only is a guide to making profit, but it takes you through the in depth steps to get there. It even goes into all of the different branches of information that will answer any almost any question imaginable that has to do with Ebay.

I have found that this book contains an abundance of valuable information to both current and future Ebay sellers. Meta tags are a key tool that are commonly over looked by Ebay sellers, but in this book Dan Blacharski not only covers the topic, but gives examples and even basic tutorial information on the subject. This book truly is revealing the secrets of Ebay.

Reading all of the advice and informative stories from actual accounts is another benefit of this book that gives the reader a personal connection. I also like how the author even gives resources as to sites that are similar to Ebay. I think that any person that needs guidance about Ebay should most definitely read this book. You are enlightened on every subject such as the history of Ebay, how to promote, shipping and handling, and even the legalities.

This book is magnificent, because once you finish reading it, you are truly educated on all of the possible in's and out's Ebay. I have stayed on the side of being a buyer on Ebay, and have never bothered with the selling aspect of Ebay, because I have always thought that the entirety of being a successful Ebay seller was too complicated. After reading this book I feel like I have gained not only a complete understanding of how to be a successful Ebay seller, but I have also gained the confidence to pursue being a seller, because I was finally able to comprehend how easy it can actually be.

eBay's Secrets Revealed
by Dan W. Blacharski

I laughed the first time a buyer sent me postage stamps for a payment. I returned the stamps and told them I accepted money orders or payment through pay pal. She did not laugh. She wrote a negative comment about the transaction and then filed a complaint against me. The litigation lasted for months and I was frustrated and confused. For several years I struggled with my site on eBay. I learned a few tricks on my own through trial and error.

Many powerful eBay sellers were reluctant to pass along any of their secrets. My site was floundering. I decided this enterprise was not for me. If only Dan W. Blacharski's book, `eBay's Secrets Revealed' was available to me way back then, my business would have been a success.

In the very first chapter Dan discusses name recognition. This is an extremely important concept in eBay auctions. Studies show that consumers feel comfortable with items and locations that are familiar.

Dan's information contains simple information regarding keywords that a first time seller may not even consider. The in depth chapter on accounting and taxes can literally save your business. Dan takes a step by step approach on how to succeed in your eBay business.

Make no mistakes eBay is a business and a livelihood for many individuals. Dan lets you know about security, customer service, fraud, payment methods and everything one needs to know to be a success in this burgeoning enterprise. Even the images you post reflects whether this item will be looked at and possible purchased.

Chapter 10 states the importance of positive feedback. This is not something you can shrug off. It can mean quitting your day job or failure. If terms like, second chance, reserve price, buy it now, absentee bid and insertion fee are foreign words to you, purchase this book.

This book can direct a novice, inform a buyer and lead an entrepreneur to success. The money invested in this book will ensure an easy and attainable transition in the art of selling on eBay. This information can also be applied to any other business project. After reading Dan's book, `eBay's Secrets Revealed' I feel confident to once again try my hand at selling and buying on eBay.

I give this book a rating of 5.

Jamaine Burrell's comprehensive work provides a fundamental understanding, building, and repairing your credit score. Have you ever wondered why you receive copious amounts of credit card solicitations in the mail? Why you can't qualify for a car loan or a mortgage? If so, then Burrell's book is the one for you.

In the simplest of terms, your credit score dictates a great deal of your financial future - the higher your score, the better your credit. Burrell begins by explaining the elements used to calculate your credit score and then how to go about manipulating those elements to your favor. The emphasis of Burrell's book is the importance of maintaining and monitoring your credit score, that, and understanding that there are several sources that provide credit scores including FICO, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the Fair and Accurate Transaction Act. Credit scores are then differentiated into either standard credit reports or investigative credit reports.

In general, credit reports can be sold to creditors, lenders, and other business entities, as well as accessed online. Burrell also covers the areas that credit reports can legitimately be used for including the following: medical information; rental agreements; tenant screening; and employment histories. If your credit score needs to be fixed, Burrell's book provides helpful ways to identify building up your credit as well as methods that won't help. Additionally, these useful pieces of advice include how marriage, divorce, and/or the death of a spouse will impact your credit.

Through Burrell's solid research and her ability to connect with the reader, she manages to tutor you in the tangled was of identifying credit professionals to assist you with any of your issues, preventing identify theft, and handling bankruptcy, if necessary. This book provides an excellent resource for people to begin learning about credit and preventing future mistakes or for those currently embroiled in credit problems to hopefully extricate themselves as painlessly as possible.

Excellent Resource for Building, Maintaining, and Protecting Your Credit

If you're like me, you're familiar with credit reports and maybe even FICO scores. But, if you're like me, you don't know the difference between a credit report and a credit file. You don't know exactly how credit scores are calculated. And you don't know about all the other types of credit collecting and reporting vehicles used to decide whether or not you get the job or medical coverage you applied for. How to Repair Your Credit Score Now provides the answers to these and many other credit-related questions you may not even know to ask.

Burrell's depth of research is impressive. Each chapter, from "What is a Credit Score?" to "Maintaining Good Credit" provides clear, detailed explanations that make it easy to understand credit and how it impacts us. And perhaps more important, they provide the steps and resources to take an active role in building, maintaining, and protecting our credit. For example, Chapter 3, "Credit Scoring Models," explains exactly how credit scores are calculated, and Chapter 5, "Repairing Bad Credit," dispels the myths and scams some debt `repair' agencies use and provides real, concrete actions consumers can take to minimize damage from bad credit.

Throughout How to Repair Your Credit Score Now, Burrell provides illustrative charts, resource contact information, and sample letters to assist you in building, monitoring, disputing, and protecting your credit information. It is an invaluable resource for any one wishing to take an active role in understanding and protecting their credit.

With over twenty-five years experience in the financial services industry. Much of it concumer personal finance education, I have worked with Fair Isaac and teach credit scoring classes. I find too many errors to mention in this book. The author means well but writes as if she is in the banking or mortgage industry, which has too many so-called experts on credit, and so-called knowledge of how a credit report works. Most learn through office memos or banking seminars, which are only half correct and mislead most with half truths.

My point is if you truly want to learn about your credit report and score simply print a copy of the FCRA and the FACTA from the FTC.GOV website. This book is full of half truths and misleads all of it's readers on many points.

EXAMPLE: The book states with a bad credit score an insurance company can deny you insurance. This is a flat our mis-statment and against federal laws. No insurance company will, or can deny anyone insurance of any kind with a low credit score. The insurance company is only allowed to rate your premiums based on your credit information.

There are too many examples to list of where the author in the book misleads you. I know she means well but I feel much of her knowledge is from the office water cooler and not the actual FCRA and FACTA.

I wish I had this book a few years ago. It would have saved me from a few problems I could have easily avoided, even though I thought I was Mr. Know-it-All when it came to credit and debt.
It gives you the low-down on how credit scores are figured out, the agencies that do the reporting and how you can be in trouble based on the number of accounts you have, collection actions against you, past due payments and delinquent accounts.
OK, so you're faced with mounting debt. Relax. You can get back in the game by determining what is causing your growing money problems. The author explains in detail how to use debt-to-income ratio calculations to lower your debt in your monthly budget while including necessary savings in those budgets, as well as using credit counselors, negotiating a payment plan with creditors and other helpful methods.
The book points out how to open safe accounts that will show potential creditors you can pay your bills and save money, and how you can correct inaccuracies in your credit information.
Burrell details the different types of cards and loans to look for in order to maintain a good credit rating on your path to recovery. The more you understand credit, the better you are able to take advantage of the options available, the author explains.

I have been a full time mediator for seven years. Before that, I was a litigator. At times, I utilized Mr. Krivis' expertise as a mediator. I recall thinking: "This man's an alchemist. He settles all of my cases, but does so in a different way each time. He truly is an improvisational genius." Now, through his new book, Krivis gives me some insight into his practice. This book should be required reading for anyone currently mediating the litigated case. It should also be read by litigators. The analysis sections at the end of each chapter provides a wealth of information for sorting out differences of all kinds. Don't wait for the jury, ladies and gentlemen. The verdict is in: Krivis is a master mediator with an inpired approach to conflict management and resolution.

The Human Dynamic in Conflict Resolution

What do love, money, anger and conflict have in common? Among other things, pioneer Southern California mediator Jeff Krivis. Now this legendary "closer" has written an original and engaging new book "Improvisational Negotiation: A Mediator's Stories of Conflict About Love, Money, Anger and the Strategies That Resolved Them".

Focusing on the "human dynamic" involved in dispute resolution, Krivis' book reads more like a fast-paced novel than a work of non-fiction. In 30 riveting chapters, Krivis takes the reader behind the scenes and far beneath the surface of conflicts that everyday people face and his (and others) strategies for their resolution. Given the general public's overwhelming interest in the law and what lawyers do, this book should enjoy an appeal far beyond the sphere of dispute resolution professionals.

It deserves a wide audience.

Mr. Krivis has succeeded in creating a very entertaining and resourceful book that anyone in the conflict resolution arena would find a must read, including attorneys, mediators, claims adjusters, negotiators, human resource personnel, private parties in conflict, and the list could go on and on.

I enjoyed the book because it was written with such detail and specificity in a John Grisham type style, yet at the same time it was also very educational and applicable. The material was so good and entertaining that I found myself at the end of each chapter saying, "Okay, one more chapter then I'll go to bed." Then a half hour later, "Okay, really just one more chapter."

Mr. Krivis has shared in this book many valuable tools that I have already applied in my private practice as an attorney and mediator. I can testify that they have tremendously benefitted my clients and my practice. For this reason, I find myself referring to the book weekly and frequently recommending it to my colleagues. Thanks for the great read Mr. Krivis and subsequent enhancement to my practice. This book is a must read!

I often look at reviews for practical advice, i.e., if people like me read the book and get something out of it, then I want it. Well, as a trial lawyer and as someone who would benefit a lot from doing my best at mediation, Jeff Krivis' book is a DEFINITE READ. Mr. Krivis' style is clear and very easy to understand. After setting forth various fact patterns that an experienced lawyer might see, he shows how different approachs to meditation settle the case. This is a window into how to a top mediator thinks about your case and the strategies he uses to help both sides resolve their differences. What could be better?

In case I wasn't clear - BUY THIS BOOK.

I'm a personal trainer and this industry is full meat heads and corporate idiots that know zero about the fitness world. There main goal is to make numbers and get paid, while the trainer works his/her butt off to make a living. I saw Plummer speak at a seminar and he owns a chain of gyms in Colorado but he explains that in order to run a business you have to first take care of the employees and second creative a great workout atmosphere. Unlike Gold's gym or 24 hour fitness, kid's should be involved as well as grandma and grandpa.

Not meat heads that slam the weights down or overcrowded gyms where people ignore the 30 minute rule on the cardio equipment. Health problems in this country is on the high side of things just look at ur friends and family everyones getting fat and out of shape. We owe it to ourselves as Americans and to our families as fathers, mothers, etc to take care of our fitness and health cause its important.

I am 18 years old and very interested in running a gym in the future. I believe this book can help me enormously. I worked at the front desk of a low budget gym, selling memberships for 6 months. I had a great time, but members constantly complained about the broken machines. Even so, members renewed their contracts at a pretty constant rate. By reading this book, I was able to target the pros and cons of the gym that I worked at, and I am even more excited about having a chance to possibly get involved in the fitness industry on a high level.

This book discusses gym busines: how to set it up, run it, attract members and so on. I was a little disappointed as I was expecting more info on becoming successful as a personal trainer.

The book is good and is based on extensive personal experience of the author. He goes into a lot of detail on how to deal with everyday realities of the gym business. If you want to run a gym, the information will be very useful. But not if you want to practice as a personal trainer.

the principles and orientations of a successful hotel or restaurant

One of the obvious choices was the fitness/spa business which depends
on customer perception of value received and on a strict attention to
cost controls and sales and marketing. This book was the only one that
had a useful perspective and that covered all the relevant aspects
of running a fitness operation. Of course, no book can prepare you with
all the answers about any business, but this one certainly started
students out with the right questions.

One excellent point that this book does define for you though is how to choose your beneficiaries in the best possible way. Reading "Retire Secure" will not alone make you rich. However, if you read and follow Mr. Lange's advice, you will build wealth and then protect it to the fullest extent possible. The book outlines a very clear path to maximize savings using the most effective vehicle available to you. Then it goes on to provide a thorough roadmap to minimizing your tax consequences and maximizing your after tax returns. Finally the book provides several different strategies for passing along wealth to your heirs while once again factoring in the greedy hands of Uncle Sam. The author not only provides you with the theory, as many financial planners do, but backs up his recommendations with solid proofs and confirms them with amusing case studies. Overall this book is an excellent source for information on the use of retirement funds for wealth building and hopefully inheritance to pass on.

The Secrets of Wealth is an excellent resource on personal finance. But this is no boring textbook. It is actually written as a story (along the same lines as Rich Dad Poor Dad). Unlike Rich Dad, Poor Dad though, The Secrets of Wealth actually gives useful advice on how to achieve each step. Marciano breaks wealth building down to 10 secrets, and provides methods of implementing and using these secrets. The Secrets are revealed to the main character, David, by his mentor Mr. Mathers. Throughout the book are tips and techniques that anyone can use to improve their financial well being. The 10 steps aren't magical or difficult. Things like goal setting, investing, budgeting, and financial planning are nothing new, but Fabman gives you the knowledge and resources to actually achieve wealth. If this book cannot help you manage your finances, nothing can. Way to go Fabman!

It gives information that is much needed by people who are in debt. Topics include planning, budgeting, building your investment portfolio (stocks, bonds, index funds, etc), getting out of debt, taxes, retirement plans (401k, etc), some real estate, and more.

I could not put it down. The author does a great job of providing additional information along with recommended reading at the end of each chapter.

I just wish there was a book like this 5 years ago.... I highly recommend reading this title!

I decided to get this book after reading the reviews here, and I'm so glad I did. From the moment it arrived, it has been a true blessing to me (and my family). I was able to apply some of the author's advice immediately. From start to finish, it felt like a frank but sweet conversation with a wise older sister, loving friend, or beloved aunt, mom or grandmother. Thank you, thank you, Lane P. Jordan for this amazingly practical and inspiring book!

I read this book the summer of 2000. In January of 2001 I am teaching an organization class and this book was a part of the inspiration for me to organize my life in all aspects, then go on to teach others these principles with a GOD foundation. This book is great, I suggest that it is read with an "open mind" and be inspired by GOD to be impacted. It is a great source to get organized.

This book inspired me!

I loved this book~ in fact, I read it all in one night. I hadn't put much thought into caring for my family and our home as a Christian act before I read this book, but I certainly see it that way now! This book was inspirational for me. I highly recommend it!

Madeline: This is a helpful book for young kids to learn about money. They can learn how to save some, spend some and give some to charity. My favorite part of the book was when Max talked about a lemonade stand. I want to have a lemonade stand and a snack stand at our next neighborhood garage sale. I also got some ideas about how to earn extra money around the house. It made me think about other ways to get money, like selling toys or books that we don't use anymore. I liked the whole book; it was fun to read and the drawings are good too.

Sophia: My favorite part of the book is when they play money games at school. "Can I Have Some Money?" by Candi Sparks is a good book that tells about money. I like money! This book made me want to shop! But first you have to get money by selling stuff or doing chores. I would like to have a fruit punch stand. Max is funny. The pictures are good too.

As parent coordinator of P.S. 153 in the Bronx, N.Y., I am very impressed with this book. I was pleased to have an opportunity to meet Ms. Sparks at my school earlier this summer. I recommend to other coordinator's citywide to tap into this resource! I look foward to Ms Sparks revisiting my school in the fall to present this material to my students, parents and staff. This subject matter is vital in all of our communities! This is a author who wants to partner with our kids and our schools.

This type of information is extremely important, especially since they don't teach you about it in School, I was never educated about credits cards and how to manage my finances, its something you have to learn on your own, and sometimes learn the hard way. I messed up my credit at a very young age and it took me years to make it better, not only that, but you are denied so many opportunities, i.e. being able to buy a car or house, if you don't have good credit. Then you also have to pay higher rates for everything. Candi goes into much more than just credit and this book is so important because it teaches young kids the value of money, when all they perceive is the glamour of money in media and entertainment. Be disciplined about dollars and it will pay off. The way in which she presents the information makes it engaging and exciting for young kids to learn. This is a must read for EVERY person's child and is guaranteed to improve your quality of life from the basic financial principles you learn. I wish I read this as a kid, I would have gotten to where I am today, ten years earlier! I bought 2 copies for my nieces.

Our child was struggling to learn the concepts of time and money. So I turned the to the familiar Complete Book series in search of a book on the topic. Viola! The search engine here on Amazon picked the Complete Book of Time and Money. The title of this book really says it all. It is a book which will teach your child step by step to master the concepts of time and money. The pages are parent/child friendly with clear instructions and colorful illustrations throughout. By the time your child has completed this book they will have a firm grasp on the concepts of time and money.

Great, definitely buy it! Fun!

We got this book yesterday for our 4 years in Walmart for $10.00 along with a set of coins for $2.00. Started today with the money section. We were working with it for two hours without a break until I got tired myself. Great approach and sequencing, and fun for a child. Definitely must to have.

This is ONLY EXERCISES not Lessons

I am disappointed because I read the description and reviews that said this book would TEACH children how to tell time. I read statements about this being a complete book, and children didn't understand how to tell time until they used this book.
Those are misleading statements. (In my opinion) A person that knows nothing about telling time, cannot learn soley by this book. Someone still needs to explain it.
That said, I think this is a Great WORKBOOK. It has many exercises that include learning to read time charts (as in a shark feeding schedule for 3 sharks). There practices for analog and digital times, and many "word problems" to figure out what time certain events happen. That takes up the first 132 pages of the book. Pages 133 - 316 are money exercises. It shows the front and back of each denomination of coin, and explains how much each one is worth, and introduces the dollar bill.
The exercises are colorful and fun. This book will also help children practice writing numbers. They will learn different ways to pay the exact amount for items (which coins to use).
There are award certificates to fill in when the child has finished all the assignments.
The back pages are answer sheets, and tucked inside the back page is a bookmark/ruler.
I recommend this Workbook-"The Complete Book of TIME & MONEY" - it is worth the retail price; even better at the sale price.

Very helpful!

I came across this book originally at Sam's club for $4.99, and picked it up for my son. We are homeschooling 6 children and my wife liked the book so much that she color-copies the pages so my daughter can also do the assignment. She makes several copies so even the little ones can 'try' it.

Unfortunately, the cost of color printing at home is not negligible. Since she liked it so much I returned to Sam's to buy 5 more copies, but they were sold out and would not re-stock. I hesitated in paying $10-11 per copy, but the kids really eat this up and have rocketed in their understanding of time, money and math in general using this book. It is a great accessory for learning.

I finally bit the bullet and bought 5 more copies at the $10-11 price. It will be worth it, considering that is the cost of one print cartridge for a color printer these days.

I only regret I did not know how good this book was, and I did not purchase several copies the first time around.

It is unlike any other book out there about money, thankfully! She also includes an interactive website with lots of help, be sure to check it out as well. You will love this read and all of her helpful advice, to put your finances in check and become a "Money Architect." I loved this book! Thank you Jennifer!

It amazes me that some people would prefer NOT to know their financial situation because they're so afraid of what they might discover. Jennifer Wilkov takes the young and/or naive by their hands and shows them that financial acumen is part of the bedrock of self-awareness, self-acceptance, self-respect and self-love.

In BACK TO THE GARDEN: Getting from Shadow to Joy, which has won five awards in spiritual, inspirational and non-fiction categories, I touch on the importance of financial awareness. DATING YOUR MONEY gives people a step-by-step to get there.

Like our relationships with people, the methods we use to build a strong financial future determine the outcome of our relationship with wealth. It all begins with a vision that says, "That is where I want to go." From vision comes desire which says, "I want that more than anything." Desire continues with discipline which asks, "What do I need to do to get there?" From discipline there must rise determination which says "I will make it no matter what." Finally comes the celebration of success. In human relationships dating ends up in a wedding celebration. The wedding ceremony is not just a celebration of the love of two people. It is a declaration of commitment to keep using the methods that got you where you are and to keep adding new ones to keep things alive.

Statistically, three out of every four women will end up alone and solely responsible for their finances. Death, divorce, desertion and an increasing number of women who choose not to marry mean that women MUST take responsibility for saving and investing. Women who are realists know that a relationship with money can last longer than a relationship with a spouse; men who truly love their women will want them to learn these tips...

"They say it is better to be poor and happy than rich and miserable, but how about a compromise like moderately rich and just moody." --Princess Diana

I expected Dating Your Money to contain fluff that a straight-forward CPA/Attorney like me would find a waste of time. I was wrong. The book contains a well thought out series of suggestions from an experienced Certified Finacial Planner that can help women gain control of their finances. I can attest to the emotional misery of many clients who could improve the quality of their lives if they were to read and embrace the ideas in Dating Your Money by Jennifer S. Wicov.
