I bought this book as a graduation gift to myself and I was not disappointed. I learned something in every chapter such as
in chapter 2: Pull the Tooth in which the author discribed how successful people do not hang on to bad stuff for long.

Flight attendant Nikkola Knight is madly in love with breathtakingly gorgeous, airplane pilot Captain Latham Scott. However,
Latham will never know because she has vowed, since that dreadful day she found out about her boyfriend and her best friend,
not to be betrayed by anyone ever again. When Latham finally admits his feelings for her, she realizes the feeling is mutual,
and they begin a whirlwind relationship filled with love and happiness.
When Latham receives some devastating news from Carmen Thomas, his ex-lover, upon Nikki's persistence and her vow, their newfound romance is put on the backburner. To add fuel to the fire, the mysteriously handsome Mychal Forrester is pursuing Nikki. Mychal has made known his intentions to stop at nothing to win her heart. Nikki is torn between her love for Latham and her lust for Mychal. They soon discover that Carmen and Mychal have been plotting the demise of their relationship from its onset. Is the love they share strong enough to survive life's turbulence?
Once again, Linda Hudson-Smith delivers a heart-wrenching tale filled with romance and lots of drama. ABOVE THE CLOUDS captures the reader's attention and does a wonderful job depicting the relationship between Nikki and Latham. I was so drawn into the storyline I could not put the book down. I highly recommend you read this novel.

It's SO great. I recommend it. I read it, and now, I'm up to book #7. These books have never let me down! Abbie is so funny,
and kids like me are sure to love her. She has older twin sisters, and 1 younger brother. She loves the color purple, causing
her english teacher to call her Abbie "Purple" Hayes. She has tons of calenders, and at the beginning of each chapter, she
has a quote.
Each book has her doing something else that is so funny. She's always going, going, going!

Readable, articulate and superbly well-researched, this biography was obviously written with the whole self of the author
put into the task. Yeats's development as a poet in particular is charted discerningly and in its full context; my only
criticism is that occasionally exegesis of the poetry is over-simple. This aside, Jeffares evokes Yeats as both man and
poet knowingly and with finesse; the book has the type of breadth that makes for the standard biography. Any reader of Yeats
could not help but be illuminated by this work.

The 50's in a small town

Dan Van Tassel has captured, not just Barron but, any small rural town in the 1950's. His perspective as a PK is especially
charming.
I can smell the new mown hay in summer farm fields and feel the bite of early morning frost, as Dan does his paper route.
My husband grew up in Barron and lived just down the street from the Van Tassel family. It was a great place to grow up.
After being away several years,we returned to Barron and raised our family there. It's still a great place to raise kids. Thanks for the memories, Dan.

OK, maybe it's just because I lived there and now explore caves. This book would be great for anyone else who has traveled
to Papua New Guinea or would like to or anyone who explores caves. Tons of photos and maps and crazy true stories. This book
takes you there. What a rich history!

In "The Black Cloud of Kandar," Brian wonders why he was picked to rescue the prince. I mean, after all, he is just a cobbler, right? Wrong! Through a great and perilous adventure, Brian learns that he's much more than a common cobbler; he's a hero! While saving kingdoms and rescuing princes, Brian will overcome his challenges. Or will he? With an evil sorcerer that controls a kingdom, Brian will have to have a lot of help to win this one!
"The Black Cloud of Kandar" is a brilliant book. This book contains a great adventure, ongoing suspense, and kid-friendly action - all in just 90 pages! There was no gore or any kind of inappropriate content. The younger the reader the more this book will be liked, but this book will be liked by anybody 12 and under. I was very interested in learning what would happen at the end of this book. I couldn't put it down because I was so gripped by the thrilling story. There's no reason not to read this adventure. Both boys and girls will like this book equally, though most of the main characters are boys. The writing was really good at making me want more. This is the kind of book that is perfect for young story-loving kids.
My favorite part of "The Black Cloud of Kandar" was an epic battle that decides the end of this book.

This is a good Leader's Guide for the Boundaries book, but it's not exactly what we were looking for...First of all, to fully
take advantage of what the book offers, you'll need the Leaders' Guide, a Bible, the Boundaries book, a VCR, and the Boundaries
Video (it said this in the "Laying the Foundation" section of this Leader's Guide). I believe all of these Boundaries materials
are included in the Boundaries Kit which our group did not purchase. We only had the Boundaries books and the Leaders' Guide.
We probably would have done better to purchase the Boundaries Workbook which I believe is better for small group discussion
when you don't have the entire kit. I hope this is helpful in deciding which references you want to use in your group!

Some of the worst cynics in the world are travel writers, people who have been everywhere, done everything...and like absolutely
nothing any more. So it was quite refreshing to come upon Tom Wilmer's "California Coast Getaways," composed with what seems
like genuine wide-eyed curiosity about, and sincere appreciation for 32 classic inns, bed-and-breakfasts, and dude ranches
sprinkled from Santa Cruz County down to the Ojai Valley (what's often called California's "Middle Kingdom"). Wilmer offers
first-person field reports that not only provide basic info, but introduce readers to the owners of his favorite old hotels
and suggest some low-impact adventures--from kayaking to gliding--to keep vacationers occupied between sumptuous repasts and
poachings in the hot tub. Historical anecdotes keep the narrative rolling. Did you know, for instance, that Charlie Chaplin
and Fatty Arbuckle built the Montecito Inn at Montecito? Or that Czar Nicholas II's last vice-counsel to the United States
once owned a cabin on the Santa Cruz site of today's Babbling Brook Inn? I look forward to seeing (in some future book) Wilmer's
take on the resorts/inns along the rest of California's long coastline. His book is a friendly, fascinating, sometimes funny
traveling companion

Crossing the Olympic Mountains in Washington State

I have always been fascinated with the additional dimension clouds cause in an otherwise clear sky. Growing up in Southern
California, the skies were usually clear, but spending my adulthood in Washington State, those gorgeous blue skies most typically
accented by lovely white clouds. This book tells the story of a summertime hike -- a two week trek -- across Olympic National
Park by two college students and their wives. The men hail from the opposite side of the state, in a dryland valley, and
attend Walla Walla College, so the comparison is a stark contrast to them what with the cool mountains, the firs and hemlock
and cedars, and the ever present streams and waterfalls. Two additional features gave additional perspective to this book.
One, it was written over 50 years ago, in 1953, and so the hiking gear and behaviors are a bit more primitive than what we
know today. Two, the men were both Christians and coming from the Adventist College in Walla Walla, so their inclusion of
Biblical quotes and giving praise to their God in the middle of such earthly beauty as the mountains is refreshing to read.
