This book is not what it appears from the title, it is much more. Mr. Thomas presents ideas for change in a way that allowed me to look at our own organization and extend/apply his ideas to our situation. The methods he has in his book have allowed me to exert a much higher influence on maintenance activities in our companies. I've been able to do this by taking the examples he has in the book and adapting them to my current situations at work. If you're a Maint Eng or a mid-level person in your Maint Dept (planner or scheduler), this is a great book to allow you to try push your new ideas forward. We can't all enjoy the freedom Mr. Thomas has with his workplace, but the ideas he presents allowed me to have more control over mine!

This is a great book which gives invaluable, practical advice on increasing salon revenues.

The book concentrates on increasing revenue through retail sales looking at salon design, layout, product, staffing, sales tips, objections, follow up etc.

Carol Phillips really understands customer service, and makes you think about the whole client experience. At every stage she makes suggestions to improve your customer service to build customer loyalty and repeat sales. There is also advice on staff issues, marketing and other management issues.

The book has been carefully structured and the chapter overviews and summaries are useful. It is also well indexed. I now call it the salon bible. Read it.

I recommend this book to anyone practicing Instrumentation and Controls . This book covers topics that would come up everyday in Instrumentation and Controls . Highly recommended for I&C engineers even for experienced practitioners . There is a vast amout of information and knowledge in this book that would take years of experience to gain . The author has managed to put his vast years of experience down in this book that would benefit anyone reading it .

This is a fine book that provides important new insights not only into the history of big cattle ranching in California, but also into our broader understanding of the settlement of the American West and the meaning of American industrialization. I believe that this book will be an excellent reference for any one, students or practitioners, which want to learn about Industrial Data Communications and Networks. I own this book and it has been useful to prepare training materials and tutorials for technicians and operators.

In 1945 I attended a public technical school in Toronto,Ontario,Canada. The earlier additions of this book were the basis of our four year course at that school. The book is a self teacher and can really teach and inprove the knowledge of anyone involved in the industrial electrical world. I became a chief electrical engineer for a major company through the school of hard knocks.This book always had a place on my desk. Each time I went to construction sites and someone would ask about certain technical details of the electrical industry I would always end the conversation with a recomendation to purchace this book. I am sure sorry to understand that the author is no longer with us ,but can understand this as I am 69 years old. Just in case this bit of history would get lost here is where the book started. Naydon worked for esthe ford motor company with another engineer called Gillman and both their names appeared on early edditions of the book. It was used as a training book for electricians who joined the Ford Motor Company. The book coveres a wide range of subjects which every electrician should know if he wants to get ahead. Sure hope this helps electricians and industrial engineers who might consider the purchace of this book

This book is not only a very good Industrial Ethernet guide, but is a fine overall Ethernet reference book. Every automation/control engineer should have this in their book collection. The only wish I had was for some additional examples and some real-world benchmark results of iE protocols. This book would also make a fine classroom instruction guide. By far the best book I have seen on this subject, and a very quick read.
