This is a great book for collectors of Scientific Instruments.
In the back of the book it has all famous makers names alphabetically listed and the dates they manufactured items and what they manufactured from the 1400's to 1800's.This book has World Globes,Telescopes,Navigational Instruments,Land Surveying instruments,Microscopes,Sundial's,Compass's and many more items.
It has great color and Black and white photo's throughout the book also.The Index to makers in the back of the book alone makes the book worth buying to the collector of these types of instruments.The book gives history on all of the item's it shows throughout the book. It has 320 pages and published by one of the largest antique auction houses in the world.

This is a great book. It's quick, concise, well-organized, easy to understand, not dumbed down, practical ... I could go on. Plus, Prof Porter actually emailed back when I wrote him with comments and questions. The book includes questions throughout for further thought, the answers to which are in the back and resemble class notes. I wish I could find a book as good as this on more topics.

This book has its own spot on my workbench, because it has everything you need to know about electric cooling, accessory drive belts, and water pumps. get this book if you plan to install or amke a cooling system or water pump.

Fantastic book, very well written and composed. Well organized material, starts out expaining simple components and works up the ladder to more complex ones. If you want to understand your system better or just want to know more about electrical components in our everyday life this book would be good for you. Recommend this book for the repairman and the personnel of property management and maintenance. GOOD JOB!

This an excellent book. The images inside it are very clear and say a lot about the written material. Although some pictures and topics are repetitive, this is mostly due to the proper nature of the NEC, which in several sections seems to repite what is mentioned before. Of course, as the NEC also does, it keeps mixing up the topics of grounding and bonding. I highly recommend it on this matter.

As a continuing ed instructor with over 30 years experience in commercial wiring, I highly recommend this textbook as a reference for those residential electricians who are transitioning into commercial wiring. It is filled with very informative black and white illustrations and photos of conduit supports and fittings, conduit bending techniques, raceway systems, conduit bodies, boxes, enclosures, etc. There is an entire chapter devoted to hazardous locations with a multitude of clearly explained illustrations.

The author not only covers theory, codes, and standards, but also provides plenty of practical commercial wiring knowledge that is well explained and well illustrated with up-to-date illustrations.

This is a really good book to learn about the various tests for electrodeposition. The book is succintly written and very practical in application. I would highly recommend this book to anybody who is new to electrodeposition and is interested in doing electrodeposition as a part of their research or in a industry. This book is very useful to me since i am trying to understand the mechanical properties in relation to the microstructure during electrodeposition.
