The Guild I belong to has this book in our library -- I really do want to have a copy for myself. I love how very easy and clear the steps are shown. I took it our of our library because I had some confusion in my plans to make a crazy quilt -- this book had just what I needed. It gives you very straight information on an excellent assortment of quilts. There is a lot of information in a very nice little book.

Rage against the Machine's songs are fun to play and are easy to learn the basic riffs. You can really hone in your chops by learning all the little fills and solos.

A cautionary tale about the limits of political power, i.e. political power does not bring economic success.

a great book, well written, with tremendous lessons for today.

this is a mind opening book. I am a doll artist opening up to fiber art and this book is filled with beautiful pictures and techniques.

Why would you buy a book about a little-known television series?

If you liked the original Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) from 1969, you might be surprised to know that there was a brief revival in 2000-2002 in the U.K. Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimore starred as Marty and Jeff in two series with a total 13 X 50 minute episodes on BBC 1. It also starred Emilia Fox as Jeannie and Tom Baker as Marty's ghostly mentor Wyvern.

The book, 'Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased): The Files', is a companion-piece to the newer series -- and very well done it is. Andy Lane has managed to use a spare writing style, lots of photos and a wonderful sense of design to provide a fitting legacy to this brief televisual encounter. The book is an oversize paperback which is both comfortable to read and easy to store.

If you liked the original series, are looking forward to the revival being offered (soon?) on DVD, or are curious about how a ghostly detective series can really work, then buy this book.

It was rated a '10' out of 10 by TV Zone magazine. You won't be disappointed.

The aim of the book is to bring together key papers in Machine Learning and to provide an introduction to the field and a reference collection for graduate students and researchers. The book contains 51 most imoportant article from Machine Learning (up to 1990). Most of these are NOT available online, so watch out! The following areas are covered: Introduction (3 papers; one by Simon), Inductive Learning From Preclassified Training Examples (16 papers including great classics from Quinlan, Michalski, Mitchell, Minsky...), Unsupervided Learning and Concept Discovery (9 papers -- Feigenbaum, Holland...), Improving the Efiiciency of a Problem Solver (10 papers including fameous Samuel's gem "Some Studies in Machine Learning Using the Game of Checkers"; also papers from Mitchell, Nillson, Utgoff...), Using Preexisting Domain Knowledge Inductively (13 papers; Russel, etc...). Really really outstanding collection and a definite recommendation.

This is an excellent book. It is perfect for the beginner embroiderer. I am not an experienced embroiderer; however, I think this is a great book for both the inexperienced as well as the experienced, especially if you want to teach embroidery for a class of students or to someone on an individual basis. The book will do most of the work for you. This book is exactly as it states in the title, Ready, Set, Stitch. You open the book and WOW! The colorful photographic instructions are among the first things you see. The photographic instructions include stitch examples in two or multiple colors threads as necessary to visually describe the techniques. The techniques are described in text also. There will be little or most likely no guessing about whether or not you got the instructions right. I think this book is a great example for anyone who is planning to write/publish a How to Book. It includes some of the best aspects of planning, layout, design, photography, useful guides on instructional methods I have seen. They are not long and drawn out. Very precise, to the point and gratifying to use. The projects are beautiful and very inspiring as well. I just saw this book at a book store for $19.00. Amazon has it for a fantastic discounted price. I highly recommend this book.
