Cressida in Asia not included.Review Date: 1999-12-06
If this book is intended to sell worldwide, You should consider the Engine type and model. I have 1987 Cressida with engine type of 1G-E and 1998 cc, and it does not cover. I find hard to find the similarities.
I believe this book only applicable to US and Canada only. So, buyer/reader out side those country should contact the publisher or the author first.
The best part of details are in the Drive Train, Suspension,Brakes and Emission control. Most helpful picture displayed for Van, Only drawing mostly provided for Sedan.
I think the Author should deeper in the sections of 'Engine and Engine Overhaul', Chasis electrical and cabin electrical, especially for indicators for instrument.
Thank you.

OK. NOt as bad as other review suggest, but could be betterReview Date: 2005-04-10
I did not find any blatantly incorrect information, so I don't know where that complaint came from. The complaints about not giving detailed instructions is valid....sort of. Everything I needed to do for spark plug , spark plug wire, and distributor cap/rotor replacement is in the manual. It's just not together. The procedure may tell you , ie, "remove distributor cap" and that's it, but if you look through the book, the details for removing the cap are there, just not within the procedure to replace/inspect the distributor rotor.
The complaint about it being focused on the 3.0L engine seems to somewhat valid but the majority of Taurus' were built with this engine so it makes sense.
The pictures could be more clear, but that is a function of B&W on cheap paper.
I would not hesitate to follow this manual for more complex projects, and plan on using it to replace the front and rear struts as well as the catalytic converter.
For those who are really wanting to deatailed instructions on this car, try the Ford Shop Manual available from Motor Craft (app $80). It's expensive, but worth it compared to paying the shop to do the work. Also, Autozone has some great protocols on their website with good diagrams that you can print for free.

dont waste your moneyReview Date: 2008-09-15
I'm restoring an old bronco and found everything in this book too brief and with way too few illustrations. If your a mechanic you might find it useful, but for us regular folks working on cars its of very little help. Buy the Chilton version instead.
Very LimitedReview Date: 2007-07-12
There are simply too many engines and body variations for this book to adequately cover with this few pages.
If you don't want to spend the real money and get the Helms Manual, but the Chilton.
This is just completely wrong!Review Date: 2007-01-10

This Book is WORTHLESS. maybe Chilton's is betterReview Date: 2005-02-06
So many areas are left out from this book. and many things that ARE in the book are rediculously simplified. "remove screws, pull out clips carefully remove part." WHERE are the screws? HOW MANY clips? whats the deal. what a waste o money. I've never bought a Chilton's for such a new vehicle, but I know they have always been much better and more thorough. This book is lame.

A good beginner book for a young driver just building his first soapbox car. Not a bad stocking stuffer for the big fans who can still remember the thrill of "gettin' it in the dirt."
