These comics are enjoyed by our entire family. Our 10 year old son can't seem to put them down as the illustrations and content are clever and entertaining. We love how Bently Boyd brings history to life in a fun, creative and easy reading style. After my son is finished reading he can't wait to share what he read with the entire family. We have acquired the entire set of Chester Comix with Content Series and love them all. These make a GREAT gift for anyone of any age or even for teachers as they are an awesome learning tool. This is a definate must have for the entire family. ENJOY!

I gave this book to my son along with a box of civil war soldiers and he has loved it. He reads the book, then reenacts the battles with the toy soldiers. It has really sparked his interest in history. All the books in this series have been great and he has enjoyed them all.

Book Review

Brook, Stephen. Claws of the Crab: Georgia and Armenia in Crisis. Sinclair-Stevenson, 1992.

This is another treasure of a book about the Caucasus that I unearthed from the bowels of the Wandsworth Public Library system in south London. Only one other person had borrowed it, back in September 1999 when I was working in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi. Reading this book, I discovered that Stephen Brook had got there before me when all the exciting stuff was happening at the start of the nineties. Independence from the Soviet Union, the overthrow of the tyrannical president Zviad Gamsakhurdia and the battles for Nagorno Karabakh - Brook was there or thereabouts. Studiedly sympathetic to the Armenians and guardedly admiring of the Georgians, Claws of the Crab is a rare eyewitness account of many of the events that made independent Georgia and Armenia what they are today. Suffice to say that there's been remarkably little change since the book's completion in 1992.

I am a highschool student who still loves picture books. This book was a great review for the AP US exam. If you know your stuff you will recognize all the little details. This is the most politically correct book for young students that I have ever read. I also bought some of the other series. Great books!

Based on real-life events, The Crab Boys is a novel for young adults set in post-World War II Low Country South Carolina. Two boys, Rhett Gingyard and Gaffney Dorn, are fast friends who face adventure and danger together, from copperheads and wild boars to octopus tentacles and stone crabs. Their adventures take an extra turn for the fearsome when they eavesdrop on a conversation between estate owner John Blackhall and General George Marshall about the atomic bomb! Author Nancy Rhyne has grounded her saga in thousands of hours of interviews with Low Country residents, crafting a cover-to-cover amazing adventure.

A fairy tale as compelling as any by the Brothers Grimm

Like many a fairy tale, there is a poor village maiden at the heart of this lovely story -- though she does not long for Prince Charming. And yes, there is a moral. But that shouldn't stop any reader from downloading "The Crab Catcher and the Fish Whisperer." Saint-Clair's writing is magical. The author has truly created a fairy tale as compelling as any by the Grimm Brothers.
