Great Adoption BookReview Date: 2008-08-06
I also know that as my son grows up, he may feel a want to have our skin be the same color. This book addresses that-the brown mom kangaroo and the little white lamb both do things to look like the other because they love each other so much, but realize they really love each other for who they are...and it doesn't matter that they are different, they have each other. They are a family.
Great book for younger kids and has a message too.Review Date: 2007-07-11
I had to read this book out loud to a small gathering of 3 and under kids--it was one of the only books I read that seemed to hold their attention. The illustrations are vibrant and bold without being overwhelming, the characters emotions are conveyed really well on the page. The story itself has a wonderful blend of silliness and heart. Ultimately its a story about adoption and how differences can be a good thing, its also about family and love. But it has great moments where you get to read words like "Boing!" and "maa-aa-aa" out loud, which any little kid can get into.
Very good book.

An excellent guidebook!Review Date: 2002-12-19
Part I of the book has the predictions for the 12 solar months of 2003 for the 12 animals. Each animal sign has the month broken down into the auspicous and inauspicious times.
Part II has the Feng Shui predictions for 2003 based on each of the 9 sections. It also shows the exact directions to avoid digging in for 2003.
Part III is the day selection guide. It has 12 montly calendars with a day-by-day indication of favorable and unfavorable activities.
Each section explains how to determine the key pieces; such as determining your animal sign, how to read your home, and how to read the calendar.
This is a great reference for the entire year.
A book you need every day!Review Date: 2003-01-06
Very exciting - the book helps me every day.

Footprints from the pastReview Date: 2008-05-06
The authors have carefully pieced together significant evidence and documentation to impart the reader with a respected awe into the lives of the Sheep Eater Indians.
From archeological digs, petroglyphic sites, stone and animal tools, etc. to discussions with contemporary day descendants, this study covers it all in general terminology.
Having visited a few of these sites myself, it never ceases to amaze what had once occured in these landscapes so long ago.
A Superb Look at an Amazing PeopleReview Date: 2008-02-11
The authors provide a thorough picture of Sheep Eater history and culture, including social structure, religious beliefs, and the crafting of their tools, clothes, bows, living shelters, and even their cookware.
This is an excellent introduction to a Native American people that few know anything about. Both scholars and laymen will enjoy the very accessible, easy-to-read material. Mountain Spirit should be required reading for everyone interested in the American West, Native American culture, as well as those seeking inspiration from a people who managed to prosper in one of the most beautiful and forbidding environments in North America.
