In this tale Colonel B. Bunny decided that Peter Cottontail should replace him as Chief Easter Bunny. However, a nasty bunn named Irontail wanted the job as well and challeneged Peter to a contest to see who could deliver the most eggs.
Peter, in his pride was sure that he would win so he threw a big party the night before and didn't get up in time to deliver his eggs and so he lost.
Discouraged he leaves April Valley and finds himself in the Garden of Surprises with a new friend Mr. Sassafrass. This new friend happens to have a yesterday mobile that just might help Peter make everything right.
This is such a fun story, with a lesson about pride and ingenuity.

Filled with wonderful glowing full page color illustrations. Hildebrandt's trademark of making his subjects pop of the page and giving them lustrous color and light make this tale a perfect object for his brush's attention. His depiction of both the underground world of rabbit tunnels and the above-ground world of sunshine and fields is magical. Another great rendition of the Peter Cottontail saga!

This is a wonderful classic of Peter Rabbit and friends. It is a wonderfully constructed board book that wears well and plays Rock-a-bye Baby. It is sure to please anyone with a little one. It is for age 18 months and up and I recommend that this is the correct age group - my 12 month old has not shown much interest yet - a little too complex to keep the attention of a very young child. This is a book to keep in the family and pass on.

I bought this book for my nephew's birthday. To say the least he loved the stories and has prompted his imaginative and creative abilities....he wants more of these books. The illustrations he thinks are cute and laughable! . Beatrix Potter has always been one of my favorite authors as a child and from my nephew's reaction it seems as though it will be a favorite of children of all ages. This books is great for kids and is quite easy to read and understand. It is also quite affordable to buy the lot. I am about to order another of these books. Thanks

I have enjoyed this book so much. With the popularity of Beatrix Potter for the nursery again, this book should be put back into print. It is great for all crochet people.

One of our baby's favorite books and toys. This is the one book your baby can chew without damaging the book. My husband is a high school teacher who thinks this is also an excellent pedagogical model for english classes -- how to summarize a book into 16 words.

I like how my daughter enjoys either me reading the book to her, the music playing or pushing the button herself. It's a cute musical nursery book.

This book is wonderful! My daughter loves this story, and enjoys doing the puzzles before bed. I would recommend this for any 3 to 6 year old!

This is an adorable book, one that would be a great starter book for a very young child. As far as I am concerned, getting young children as interested as possible in books is what one needs to do. The pictures are very "Beatrix Potter-ish," which is perfect.

My wife and I ordered this for our 6-month old son. The toy rabbit is really cute, very soft and cuddly. The book was a trip down memory lane for my wife; there were many nursery rhymes in it that she had known as a child but had forgotten over the years. It will be a wonderful thing to read to him, but it isn't something that he can really play with or touch.
