Rabbits Books

Every time I think that Edward Hays can't write another good book, he does! In this busy day and age this book is easy to pick up and read for however brief a time you may have. (Then there's the time needed to let it sink in). Each short chapter is filled to the brim with excellent, thought provoking material. As with his other writings I know that I will return to it and read it several times. How often we pursue something only to give up. Fr. Hays makes it all seem so simple. I attended a workshop where a well known speaker presented two very interesting scenarios from movies with accompanying clips. Both of them were taken from the first two chapters of this book with Fr. Hays' reflections! What better affirmation? If you are hungry for God or want to deepen your understanding of Him, this is a must. But, watch out. It just mught turn you on to this fantastic writer!

When my five-year-old discovered Jack's tale at preschool, we ended up bringing home every version available at our local library. Of course some were much better than others. I soon decided that if I was going to be reading about Jack twelve times a day (my two-year-old by now had captured his sister's passion for the tale), I needed to find the best written, most readable version available. Having long been a fan of Rabbit Ears Radio and Rabit Ears Publishing, I did a little deeper search and found this edition. My recommendation? Of the twenty or so Jacks we have read (and read, and read. . . ) in the past few weeks, this is the one I purchased for our family's collection. I would highly recommend other books by this publisher, as well.

Both my duaghter and i read it. this book is so wonderful and full of fantasy that we have started reading more like it and are now collecting them. it keeps your interest and makes you wish she had written more than three in the series. we have read all in this series and want to buy them.

This is one of my favorite children's books. I marvel at the beautiful, exquisitely detailed pencil drawings. The story is simplicity itself, but it tells a wonderful tale of survival in the wild. There is an amazing amount to talk about with a young child -- the desert, the variety of animals, the concept of fire. My daughter loved this book when she was little and now I am reading it to my 3 year-old who enjoys it too. None of us tire at looking again and again at the jackrabbit with its enormous ears and powerful hindlimbs; for me it is one of the most beautiful images in any of my kids books.

A year has passed since Jacy, the young eagle, was separated from his mother. He is still looking for her and for Jesus when he encounters Betsy, a green bunny who is frightened of everything. She is a different color and doesn't look like all the other bunnies in the forest. The story gives a good treatment of how color and appearance don't matter and how someone's difference should not affect how you relate to them. Betsy doesn't know about Jesus either. The two of them encounter a Billy Bear, who tells Jacy that Jesus is everywhere and lives in the hearts of those who believe in Him. They are amazed when Billy just seems to disappear and they suppose he was an angel sent to guide and encourage them. The second in this series of four books ends here as they head for Betsy's mother and more guidance. The art work in these first two books is simple and yet powerful. Daniel Frey has captured the personalities of all the animals, making each book a good book for children to relate to.

On a recent trip we purchased quite a few sticker books for our toddler and I'd say this one had the most beautiful illustrations, though it was not the most exciting. Over 50 reusable stickers can be placed atop one one-page or seven two-page watercolor illustrations. While not the stuff for train and car fiends, it will delight little fans of the Peter Rabbit and Mr. Toad variety. You get a lot more stickers than in other books of this kind, and they are of high quality.

The simple text and artwork captivated my daughter. The sturdy hard board is great for a toddler. This is one of her favorite books.

This is a lovely story of two mice who are tired of being bullied by a cat, and so they turn to a neighboring rat, Tonchee, for help. It is well written and wonderfully illustrated. My 4-year-old enjoys this book a lot.

Jonathan James says, "this book rocks"! It's almost like reading my diary. Ah bible camp, those were the days.
