Combining the imaginative storytelling expertise of Andrew Larsen and the graphic talent of freelance illustrator and artist Kate Endle, "Bella And The Bunny" is a charming picturebook adventure about Bella, a little girl who loves a birthday sweater made for her by Nonna that is soft, furry, white, and looks just like the bunny at playschool that Bella cherishes. "Bella And The Bunny" is a delightfully entertaining story of little friends, cozy places, and memorable adventures that draws upon the everyday wonders of childhood for its inspiration. Written to amuse preschool and kindergarten children from ages 2 to 5, "Bella And The Bunny" is a very special and entertaining 32-page picturebook that debuts Andrew Larsen's ability and will children and their parents looking eagerly toward his next effort.

Bella and the Bunny is a wonderful tale of "lost and found" which is both
exciting and reassuring to the preschool mind. The clear and colorful illustrations are both fun and attractive. Repetition of people and objects on each page entices the child to keep turning the pages. As a former children's book buyer for an independent shop, I would order this title with great enthusiasm. A perfect story for 2 to 5 year olds and lots of fun for older kids to read to their younger siblings!

We borrowed this book from the local library and I liked it so much that I am purchasing a copy for my kids to keep. It goes over getting lost in a store, when strangers come up to you in a car, offer you different things, ect. I think my kids really benefitted from this!

A simply, excellent way to teach your child about strangers.

This book teaches your child the dangers of trusting strangers. It is easy to understand for the child, and keeps their interest. I have searched for this book again and again, and have not found it in the library since 1993. I am going to find it and share it with my 3 other young children.

My son has tons of board books but hands down, Billy Bunny is his favorite! The pictures of the animals are so big and it is like their eyes are looking right at him. He especially loves the pages with Morris Mouse and Freddy Fox on them. He loves to scratch their noses b/c of the textures that are included in this book. This is a must have! Highly recommend!

Some of the best board books ever!

We purchased Maurice Pledger board books (Oscar Otter, Olive Owl and Billy Bunny) for our child at 6 months and at 2 years old they are still favorites. Here are just some of what we love about them. The illustrations are spectacular. They accurately represent the wildlife being depicted. There is a great variety of textures to appeal to a child's desire to touch and feel. Our child's favorite page is the "sticky" plant in Olivia Owl. They encourage interaction with questions like "How many shiny beetles has he found on the rose bush?" (from Billy Bunny) and requests like "Tickle her orange tummy." (from Oscar Otter). They are oversized for board books (approx. 9x11 inches), which our child loves. They give children nice big pictures to look at.

I couldn't believe that this book was written and illustrated by two young girls. The pictures are just adorable! Read this to your children, grandchildren, or bring it in to kindergarten class. Its great for inspiring any child (or adult) to be strong and stay true to self. With a little help from Billy the Bunny, maybe we can all make to the top of "Mount Sunny" some day. Enjoy.

Great Bing story -- good luck finding it

Some of the Bing series are tough to get in the U.S. -- unfortunately this is one of them. Like the rest of the Bing stories, this is a simple, sweet tale of toddleresque behavior -- Bing has a hard time sharing, feels angry, gets hurt, is comforted by a kiss from a friend. My 2 1/2 year old loves these books and they seem to really resonate with him.

I read this story to my 10 month old and he loves the sing-song manner of Bing swing push whee whoosh...it makes me want to go out and buy a swing for him and for me too. Lovely and alive! Bing gets naughty and doesn't want to give Flop a turn on the swing...later he gets hurt and Flops kisses it better...so sweet and realistic. My only wish is that it was a board book as i have to keep it at an arms length from my baby.

Children learn that television is not real. The Bionic Bunny Show book goes behind the scenes of a popular super hero show. Mr. Brown shows the reader the truth.

Also, the reader learns the vocabulary used by the workers on the set. There is a glossary in the back of the book. A good way to expand the reader's voabulary.

behind-the-scenes of a television show

The creator of Arthur gives us this behind -the-scenes look at Arthur and Buster's favorite television series, The Bionic Bunny Show, as we see the actor arrive at the studio, get dressed, perform stunts and go home for the evening. The book's pages look rather like a television when we see how the episode appears to viewers. This humorous book, featured on Reading Rainbow, would be great for Arthur fans or for when you want to discuss the unreality of tv shows.

My 1 year old read this story book first time from the public library and he just did not want to stop! I ended up bought this one and couple other rabbit books for him and he loves to read them every night before going to bed. The illustrations are lovely and very easy for eyes. Together with a very interesting storyline to introduce ABCs for babies, it's a perfect gift for babies and toddlers to start their reading adventures.

Once again Alan Baker has written a book with beautiful pictures that fit in with the text. The text is simple enough for young readers, yet still informative enough to be educational at the same time. All together this makes for a book which can be enjoyed by children, while teaching them in an unconfusing manner.

We picked this book randomly at the library and have since bought it because it is so wonderful. The pictures are arresting and artistic while still very appealing to the young child. The story is cute and amusing and is about sharing and problem solving. My daughter is 3 and she absolutely loves this book and has memorized the whole thing. I recommend it for any child from age 2 on up.

My children and I all enjoyed this book for a number of reasons. At first glance, it's a classic children's tale, simply told and beautifully illustrated (with gorgeous block prints in eye-catching colors.) We all quickly realized that things were not as they seemed (and were described in the book), which gave the book a delightful "inside joke" appeal that even my youngest (age 3) child understood. Finally, the author avoids the obvious, pat ending with a wonderful last-page surprise. We have read this book over and over and would recommend it to anyone!

This book deserves to be on the curriculum of every school in the Western World for it delineates in merciless detail just what was the price of the freedoms we take so much for granted today and what the much-devalued word "hero" actually means. One hopes that similar sacrifices will never be required again by the ordinary citizens of free nations, but if they are, the courage, self-sacrifice and indomitability of Yeo-Thomas and so many others whose lives, and often also deaths, are touched on here will serve as an example and as an inspiration. Mr.Seaman tells the story of a man, ordinary in many ways, who, when confronted with absolute evil, and at an age when serving in a less active role would have evoked no disgrace, never hesitated to accept missions of the utmost danger. He proved the ideal combination of organiser, diplomat and man of action before capture and in detention proved an inspiring leader for his companions in misery. He was under no illusions as to the consequences of arrest by a barbarous enemy and when the worst happened he endured unspeakable suffering under interrogation, torture and slave-labour in concentration camps. Throughout all this his dedication to victory never failed and even in the squalid hell of Buchenwald he continued to resist. The most moving moment detailed in the book is when Yeo-Thomas, a filthy scarecrow in striped concentration-camp uniform, is recognised in a regular POW camp to which he has been sent on menial errands, and a group of British NCOs and men stand to attention before him, honouring him for a few moments before he returns to the abyss. Though Yeo-Thomas was assiduous in supporting prosecution of his tormentors after the war, his fairmindedness was such that he was willing to rise to the defence of Otto Skorzeny, whom he considered an honourable foe. This book is not only inspiring in itself, but it provides much more detail than the earlier "The White Rabbit" on Yeo Thomas's earlier life, and on the organisation of the French Resistance. Those who enjoy it will be equally impressed, and touched, by Rita Kramer's "Flames in the Field", which tells the stories of four women agents who did not survive wartime missions in France. My own daughters have been inspired by both books and they would make ideal and inspirational birthday gifts for young persons.

The Man Who Would Not Give Up !

I have read this book, and its predecessor The White Rabbit. Tommy Yeo-Thomas BUILT the French Resistance, the Maquis. It was he who persuaded Churchill to arm them; it was he who went into Occupied Paris in support of his Free French friends under de Gaulle. It was he who was captured, tortured, and sent to Buchenwald KZ where fellow officers such as Desmond Hubble from Block 17 were hanged/strangulated and immediately cremated. He, with few others, swapped places in a typhus experiment in the camp; and as a 'corpse' escaped emaciated from Buchenwald. He testified at Nuemberg, and had been on his own mission to hunt down and execute KZ guards from Buchenwald in 1945.

Returning postwar to hunt down camp guards for liquidation. A true War Hero, but his suffering and the loss of those around him - Captain Desmond Hubble, Pierre Brosselette, Violette Szabo - make one realise the price. As a teenager fighting the Russians with Pilsudski in Poland he was sentenced to death; escaped from Zhitomir. as a man he ran Molyneux couturier of Paris; in 1939 he joined #.308 Krakowski Squadron of the Polish Air Force in England; then to SOE and life as an agent in Occupied Paris - sitting on a train with Klaus Barbie, Butcher of Lyon.

A remarkable man, an amazing story, he escaped the Concentration Camp but died in 1964 of its after-effects. A book to be read as much as a testament to human endurance, as to think of a truly remarkable man enduring great travails for his friends and comrades.
