The first thing that struck me about Bunny Day is how gorgeous it is. The pictures are sumptuous illustrations of everyday moments in an everyday family--waking up, playing, doing chores. Then when I read the book aloud to my daughter I realized the words were as well crafted as the pictures.

As another reviewer said, this book does not teach children to tell time. Instead it associates each hour with an activity, from morning routine to noon picnic to dinner and bedtime. In this way, it introduces the concept of what time means.

We love this book, and highly recommend it.

My daughter and I checked this book out from the library and read it that night. As I was finishing the book I looked at the clock and it was 8 o'clock, I pointed out to my daughter that "Bunnies, it is getting late...Good night!" Amazingly she agreed and was off to bed. I went and bought the book the next day and we now read it every night. It helps her to understand the times of the things we do daily. (Funny thing is that my maiden name was Bunney!) the perfect book!

Perfect book for telling time

This beautifully illustrated story is an excellent way to teach your children about time. The bunny family spends time doing various activities throughout the day- eating, napping, playing, etc. My daughters love this story. They like to find the clock in every picture.

A lovely way to end the day & introduce the concept of time

My children love this book at bedtime. No it won't have them telling time at age 3; but it will represent a full day of activities (of preschool age children) and very nicely introduce at least the concept of time. "Who will take a walk with me, Mother Bunny says at three" "Pull the paper from the drawer, bunnies begin art at four". "Hungry bunnies all arrive in the dining room at five". "Bunnies think that books are heaven, story time begins at seven". The illustrations are detailed, colorful and very attractive -- definitely that of a keepsake book. It's a sweet story of a full bunny day in simple rhymes that my children can now say with me. I highly recommend this book as well as "So Many Bunnies".

GREAT READ FOR THE LITTLE ONES

Facing fear, in particular fear that is imagined, is a common problem with children, a problem probably as old as the human race. This wonderful little book is a great one to read with your child who may suffer from these little fears in the night and may have a bit of an overly developed imagination. This text is well done, not complicated and very understandable. This illustrations are absolutely wonderful, very soft and very warm. I liked this one and recommend it highly.

Buttermilk is an adorable bunny (who is also in the books Buttermilk Bear and the Grumpling) who stays out playing just a little too late. On her way home in the dark she sees several scary things trying to catch her. When her poppa finds her frightened in her bed he reassures her and the next day takes her back to where she saw all the "monsters" and shows her that her fear of the dark got the best of her. A great book for dealing with fear of the dark. Gentle, comforting book with BEAUTIFUL writing and illustrations.

This was my favorite in the series.I would say to anyone who is a parent and is considering this or ther serendipity books for their children that these books are the greatest influence of love and compassion in shaping my person. The characters are so unique, adorable, and loveable and the moral is~~ almost always very significant and unique.~

This book is a MUST for anyone with kids. It shows them how it feels better to give something of yourself rather then recieving from everyone else. The illustrations keep everyone's attention through the whole wonderful story while teaching a very valueable lesson.

This is a great book that children need to show them that having more toys is not the most important thing but sharing with others less fortunate! The illustrations are also very good!

I picked up this book last Christmas at my local independent toy store to read to my kids as the Christmas holiday approached. I enjoyed the fact that it gave them a great message about graceful giving without beating them over the head with it. The artwork is sweet and uncluttered. I ended up returning to the store to buy the rest that they had in stock to give as gifts...all well received!

The art in this whimsical story is superb, filled with clever visual jokes and energy. The drawings highlight the cacophonous story about a mild-mannered critter who just wants to enjoy a quiet snooze, only to discover that his home is not his castle. It has a great interactive feature too where the kids can "splat" the bugs!

One of the finest kids books I've ever seen.

As an uncle times six, I'm always on the lookout for kids' books that will delight the kids AND be entertaining for my brothers and their wives to read many times over. I give this book my absolute highest rating. The story is a whole lot of fun, the artwork is superior, but most notably, there's lots of sophisticated and subtle humor woven in that is sure to please the grownup who gets to share it with the kids. Enough, in fact, that it takes a few passes to catch it all! I suspect, too, that the more subtle aspects of humor will reveal themselves gradually over a period of years to the kids who (I think inevitably) adopt it as a favorite. This is truly a wonderful book.

This is a very wonderful story! It shows children that there is more than one way to solve a problem and that they need to keep trying even if they fail the first time. Doorknob is a very charming and loyal figment of SerWacki's active imagination and I look forward to his next creation!

I found this book at the library and was so impressed by it (especially the pictures) that I came seeking it out on Amazon. I am entranced by the gorgeous pictures and the story is sweet as well. My daughter had a fabric rabbit she adored like Emma Bean. It now sits on my dresser, dirty and worn, as my daughter is now 16. Sweet book, great illustrations.

This book is delightful for parent and child.

This is a beautiful book - one with a story that tugs at your heartstrings, but not in an overtly sentimental way. The illustrations are a perfect complement to the words. The language is simple and the story is not too wordy - great for little ones, preschool-aged and under. I started calling my baby girl "Emma Bean" as a nickname (her name is Emma) because of this book. I showed it to her daycare provider who then made Emma her own Emma Bean based on the book. Both the doll and the book will be treasured keepsakes.

The lively rhythms, endearing animal characters, child-friendly language and gorgeous full colour illustrations by Brian Lies should make this latest Finklehopper adventure an instant favourite with the read-aloud-to set.

My son and I both like this story. He's 18 months old so I have to read it to him and I really enjoy reading it. The poetic style is fun and easy to read. It has a really good lesson. It's okay if you don't win all the time. And the artwork is great! It's really detailed and realistic looking. My son likes to point to all the characters. Very pleasent to look at. Buy this book! You'll love it!

Finklehopper Frog has a terrific sense of style!
In a time in which my 2 and 4 year old girls are bombarded with images of princesses, its great to read about "real" characters with real feelings.
Finklehopper and his friend Ruby are willing to try the very things that frighten them. They take a risk that doesn't pay off in the usual sense (she loses the race) but pays off big in the lesson learned sense.

This is a really cute story with several terrific messsages! I love to read the witty, poetic lines outloud to my children.

My girls have replaced Barbie with a new favorite!

The book is so good!!! It's about two mice, the real Stilton and the fake Stilton battling against each other. One day real Stilton gets locked out in the cold and fake Stilton takes over his life. The next day real Stilton calls Thea, his sister, and Thea says, "Unless you know what Aunt gave you on your birthday you can't talk to me."

The reasons I like this book are:
1. It's funny and it's good for humorous people and children.
2. It's kind of confusing but once you read on you'll get it. It's also kind of cool how every food and drink is made out of cheese. eg. cheese chews and cheese tea.
3. It's very mysterious. I always think something bad is going to happen.

Even though it's not a good bedtime story, this book is good entertainment! So I think If you like funny books you should give this one a try!!!

"Good Mousekeeping©" is absolutly purrfect for any one interested in cats. Ilene Hochberg is a creativly talented lady and deserves lots of recognition for this book. It includes a purrspective as we think of cats, and the way we think they may look at certain situations. You will find this book close to that of Good Housekeeping©. It even includes a clever section called "At Home With Mouser Stewart". I'm looking forward to reading Vanity Fur and Catmopolitan, also by Ilene Hochberg. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I do! Don't Forget... Cats are smarter than we take them for, therefore, it could be said that we are, in a cat's eyes, very unintelligent for thinking cats aren't as intelligent as they really are!
